Grabbing the robe from the floor Tristan tied the sash as he opened the door. “I thought I told you we didn’t want to be disturbed,” he said.
There was a man not much older than himself and a woman stood on the doorsteps.
“Who the hell are you?” the older man asked.
“Calm down, Richard,” the older woman said, patting his chest.
Tristan stared at them frowning.
“Who am I? Who are you? I think you’ve got the wrong house,” Tristan said ready to close the door.
“Mom? Dad?” Vicki walked down the stairs dressed in another robe. Her hair was wet from her recent shower.
“Who is this man, Vicki? Why have you been ignoring my calls?”
Vicki stood in front of him. “Dad, stop with the questions and the angry glare.” She held her hands up placating her father.
He stared at the older man and woman and saw parts of Vicki staring back at him. Shit, he’d just opened the door on his future-in-laws in a robe. He’d not been expecting them to turn up at the door.
“Who is this man?” Richard asked.
“Mom, Dad, I’d like you to meet Tristan Carmichael, my … erm, boyfriend.” Vicki made the hesitant introductions.
“I think this should be brought inside,” Tristan said, noticing all the attention they were gaining from the locals.
They didn’t get the chance to change clothes. They sat on the sofa as her parents took the individual chairs on either side of the coffee table. Vicki left him alone with her folks to make coffee. Tristan didn’t mind being left alone with her parents. He wasn’t leaving Vicki no matter what happened.
“Are you the reason Vicki lost her baby?” Richard asked.
“Richard!” The woman spoke harshly.
“He’s naked in our daughter’s house, Ellen. What more do you want me to say?”
He sat forward gaining both of their attention. “I’m not the one responsible for her losing her baby, but I’m the one who put the baby there.”
Richard stood and raised his fist.
Tristan stayed in his seat.
“Richard!”
“I’m in love with Vicki.” The words made the other man hesitate. “I’ve been in love with your daughter for a long time.”
“You’re too old for her,” Richard said, sitting down. The anger inside her father was still there. Tristan knew it wasn’t the end of it. This man loved his daughter, and he clearly didn’t like the thought of someone taking advantage of her.
“I know. I can’t help the way I feel.”
“Tristan, you don’t need to explain yourself,” Vicki said, carrying in a tray.
“I do.” He waited until his woman was sat by his side before continuing. “I’ve not done right by Vicki.” Tristan explained the situation about his ex-wife as briefly as he could. Her father looked ready to murder him. Tristan tensed waiting for the blow to come. Vicki curled up against him taking his hand. Her support meant the world to him. After everything he’d put her through Vicki was showing her trust in him. He would earn her trust for the rest of his life. “The moment my divorce came through I drove nonstop to get to her.” He gave Vicki’s father his full attention. “I’m in love with your daughter. She will want for nothing. I will make it my life’s mission to make sure she’s cared for, and I will never step foot outside of Law Castle without her.”
“What about marrying my daughter?” Richard asked. “Or is she just good enough to fuck?”
“Dad, stop.”
Tristan chuckled.
“Actually, Sir, I was going to propose to your daughter in front of the whole town. I intend to claim Vicki for myself. I love her, and not a day goes by when I’m not sorry for the pain I caused her.”
“You spoiled his surprise, Richard,” Ellen said, her disapproval clear in her voice.
“How was I supposed to know? He’s here in nothing but a robe.”
Vicki groaned. “You’re not even supposed to be here,” she said.
“How am I to stay away when your texts have been cryptic? I was worried. You were avoiding talking to me, and talking with Stefan made everything clear.”
“You’ve been talking to Stefan?” Vicki asked.
“He’s a Law Castle Bad Boy, so of course I talk to him. I was the one who asked him to look after you. Stefan keeps an eye on you when I can’t,” Richard said. “Do you really think I’d leave my daughter alone without having someone keeping an eye on her?”
Tristan liked her father a hell of a lot more. They were both on the same page. Poor Stefan, he’d been giving information to Tristan during the time he’d been away.
“I can take care of myself,” Vicki said. She sounded irritated.
“And taking care of yourself you got pregnant, shot, and heartbroken. You may not like it, Vicki, but you’re my daughter. You’re a Bad Boy’s daughter, and you’ll be protected.” Richard turned his gaze back to Tristan. “You treat my daughter with respect or I’ll have your hide, do you understand?”
Tristan nodded. He wasn’t afraid, but her father deserved respect.
“I’ll see you at the weekend. I want to witness my daughter’s proposal,” Richard said.
He followed Vicki to the door.
Once the door closed Vicki let out a groan.
“You didn’t have to tell them about a proposal. They’ll be expecting it now,” Vicki said.
He cupped her face. “I was going to propose to you, and I intended for it to be a surprise. Your father ruined my surprise.” He shook his head, going down to one knee. “I’ll propose in front of the town people, but I want your answer now. Vicki Burke, love of my life, will you do me the honour of becoming my wife?” Tristan asked.
Tears were streaming down Vicki’s face.
“Yes,” she said, gasping.
Chapter Fourteen
Tristan picked Vicki up in his arms. “What are you doing?” she asked, squealing. He always seemed to be picking her up and transferring her from one room to another. She couldn’t believe her parents had come to Law Castle and that they’d interrogated her man.
“I’m going to carry you upstairs and make love to you.”
“Did you really think I’d reject you?” Vicki asked.
“I thought you might. I didn’t know if I’d won back your trust. I can promise you, Vicki, I’ll never give you a reason to doubt me.”
He kicked open her bedroom door. Instead of throwing her to the bed, Tristan followed her down to the bed.
“You’ve made me the happiest man in the world,” Tristan said. His lips were on hers in a matter of seconds. He tore at her clothing until she lay underneath him. “I thought the biggest mistake I ever made was sleeping with you.”
Vicki frowned. “If this is supposed to get me hot and horny, admitting sleeping with me was a mistake is not going to cut it.”
Tristan chuckled. “I couldn’t regret something that felt so right. My biggest mistake was trying to push you away. I should have gotten a divorce years ago. You, Vicki Burke, you’re the woman for me. I can’t ever let you go. I’m a selfish bastard because you could be with someone younger or your own age, but I can’t. I can’t stay away from you. You’re my life.”
She pressed a finger to his lips. “Stop talking crap about your age. You made a mistake, and you broke my heart. Everything you did is in the past. We’re together, and nothing is going to change that. Now shut up, kiss me, and then fuck me.”
Gripping his arms she pulled him closer. His lips were on hers, and he was dragging her further up the bed. She opened her legs wide, and Tristan glided inside her. He stretched her with his wide cock.
“I’m going to make you pregnant, and you’re going to become my wife.”
“Yes,” she said.
Tristan’s grip tightened around her as he made love to her. She couldn’t pull away from him. He was so perfect, and she was going to be his wife.
“I love you,” he said.
“I love you, too
.”
She whimpered as he deepened the penetration. His cock hit the spot deep inside her that took the pleasure to the next level. The thought they could be making a baby together in that moment was enough to send her over the edge.
Tristan always left her a bundle of erotic nerves. There was no stopping the rioting sensations spreading throughout her body. She loved him with her whole heart. Not a day went by when she wasn’t thinking about him.
His lips found hers, and his thrusts sped up, deepening. She gasped feeling her release close to the surface. “Come for me, baby,” he said. His fingers went to her pussy, stroking her clit.
She came apart from his touch, and Tristan followed her into bliss several seconds after.
“I can’t get enough of you,” he said.
“Good, I don’t want you to.”
He collapsed on top of her, kissing her lips. Vicki smiled up at him. “My dad threatened you.”
“I know. You’re the first woman I’ve been with whose father has threatened me. I better keep to my promise and make you the happiest woman in the world.”
“You better,” she said.
Later that day Tristan left to deal with something at the station while Vicki spent the afternoon baking. She wanted everything to be perfect for the weekend. Tristan was going to propose to her in front of the town, so she wanted their memory of the event to be worthwhile.
She was mixing some cake batter when the telephone interrupted her counting.
“Hello,” she said.
“Vicki?”
“Zoe, you’re never going to believe what just happened. My dad has met Tristan, and there was this whole big deal.” Vicki went into a quick, simplified discussion of her father’s conversation with Tristan.
“Vicki, shut the fuck up. I need your help,” Zoe said.
She froze at the panic in her friend’s voice. “Zoe, what’s wrong?”
“I, erm, can’t get hold of any of my men, and … erm … my water broke and ahhhhh!”
Vicki frowned at the phone as Zoe suddenly screamed down the line.
“I’m having contractions. Go and get my men, now!”
She dropped the phone and ran out of her house. Vicki didn’t bother putting on a pair of shoes as she ran through town toward the mechanic shop. Loud music was coming from the body of the shop. Noah, Drew, Jake, Brent, and Connor were stood around talking and laughing.
They smiled at her approach. The short distance she’d run had given her a stitch.
“What’s the matter?” Connor asked.
“Zoe’s … in … labour … her … water … broke … you … have … to … get … to …her,” Vicki said, gasping in between lung-fulls of air.
Zoe’s three men stared at her as if they hadn’t understood a word and then quickly started moving toward their house.
Tristan ran over to her. “What’s going on, baby?” he asked.
“Zoe, baby, now.” She didn’t have the energy to repeat her words. Her friend was in labour.
They all charged through Jake, Connor, and Brent’s home to find Zoe on the sofa crying.
Three men crowded around Zoe.
“What’s the matter?”
“What’s wrong?”
“Is it time?”
“Are you in pain?”
There questions kept repeating over themselves.
Vicki moved forward. “Give her some room.”
She took the phone from Zoe. “Did you phone an ambulance?”
“Yes, it hurts so much. I didn’t know it could hurt this much.” Zoe winced, reached out and let out a yell as she squeezed Vicki’s hand. The strength inside Zoe shocked Vicki, and she cried out in pain as well.
When the contraction ended, Vicki grabbed Connor’s hand and replaced hers with his.

Several hours later
Vicki held Tristan’s hand as they stared at Zoe. Her best friend after a couple of hours labour held a beautiful baby boy. Connor, Brent, and Jake looked like the happiest fathers alive. Zoe looked exhausted. They’d travelled to the hospital to be there when she woke up.
“Isn’t he just perfect?” Zoe said.
“We’re going to go and get a coffee,” Connor said.
Tristan kissed Vicki, and she waved him away. Sitting on the bed next to her friend she watched as Zoe couldn’t tear her gaze away from the baby in her arms.
“He’s amazing, Zoe. You did great.”
“I don’t even care about the pain. He was worth every bit of pain.”
Vicki sat with her friend and took the baby off Zoe when she fell asleep. She sat in the chair holding the little bundle until his father walked back in the room. Tristan stopped when he saw her. His eyes misted over, and she smiled back at him.
“What’s wrong with Zoe?” Connor asked.
“She’s tired. Here you go. I’m going to head home and tell everyone the news about Law Castle’s new arrival,” Vicki said, handing the baby over to Jake.
She followed Tristan out of the hospital. He turned and pressed her against the nearest secluded wall. “I want a baby with you,” he said.
Wrapping her arms around his neck, Vicki pressed herself against him. “We’re working on it, Sheriff.”
“You’re not put off by the pain?” he asked.
“Not a chance. I want your children, and I want to be married to you.”
She took his hand, and together they walked back to the car. Her world felt complete after witnessing the birth of the baby.
Tristan took her back home. When she walked inside she found the chaos she’d left behind. The oven hadn’t been turned on when the call came in, and so no damage was done. The cake batters looked disgusting from being sat in the warm room.
She started throwing away the raw cake batters.
“We’re going to have to call Stefan. He’ll get the word out about Zoe’s baby.”
“I’m sure the others have already seen to it.”
****
Tristan watched her working. He filled the kettle and prepared the cups for a drink, but all he was seeing was Vicki with a baby in her arms. He was going to get her pregnant. She looked so perfect with a bouncing baby in her arms.
“You keep staring at me, Tristan,” Vicki said.
He hadn’t realised he was staring at her. “I’m sorry. I keep picturing you with a baby in your arms.”
She smiled, going over to him. Tristan opened his arms for her. She settled her head against his chest. “Are you getting broody?”
“Yeah. I want the family I thought I was never going to have. I don’t want a family with anyone but you, Vicki.”
Tristan was willing to fight to keep her to himself.
“We’ll have a family.” Vicki unbuttoned the top of her shirt. He watched as she pushed him back into the sitting room. She pressed on his chest until he landed on his ass on the sofa.
“What are you doing?” he asked, smiling. He knew exactly what she was doing.
“You want to start a baby then I’m going to use every opportunity I can to get one, Sheriff, and that means taking what I can get.”
While Vicki removed her clothes, Tristan pulled himself free from his jeans. His cock stood up long, thick, and proud. Watching Vicki undress before his eyes turned him on more. The tip was coated in pre-cum. His arousal spiked as Vicki straddled his lap. She eased down onto his length taking control. He’d never liked a woman on top, but from the angle he was seated he got a good view of everything.
Her tits swung free in front of his face, and he got free rein to touch her as she was the one controlling the show.
“I love you,” he said, staring into her eyes.
“I love you, and we’ll make a baby,” Vicki said.
Tristan never failed at anything he wanted, and a family with Vicki was exactly what he wanted. Their moans mingled in the air, Tristan’s need for her only grew stronger. He wanted everything with her and wasn’t prepared to sacrifice a second of his time.r />
Epilogue
Vicki was going to be the biggest bride in Law Castle. She stared at her reflection in the mirror and tried to suck in her stomach. They were going to wait until the summer to have her wedding. As the months went by and her stomach started to take on a life of its own they’d finally discovered she was going to give birth to twins.
Twins.
Her wedding went from summer to early April. The weather wasn’t particularly hot, but it wasn’t cold. Taking a deep breath Vicki looked out of her window to see the crowd gathering at the town square. She wasn’t getting married inside a church. Tristan arranged for a minister to be present and say the words out in the open.
She rubbed a hand over her stomach, and she was overcome with nerves. What if she fell over? What were the town’s people going to think? Her father was waiting downstairs to give her away. Richard was furious with her being pregnant before her marriage.
There was a knock at the door.
“Come in,” she said.
Her father’s head popped around the door. “Hi, beautiful, are you ready?”
“I look fat.” She felt the tears well in her eyes, and she tried to bat them away. Richard moved further into the room. Her mother was outside organising everything.
“You’re the most beautiful girl, besides your mother, I’ve ever seen.”
She smiled. “You’re supposed to say that. You’re my dad.”
“No, I don’t have to say that. It’s the truth.” He stroked her hair and smiled down at her. “You’ll be the most glowing bride ever.”
Vicki rubbed her stomach. “I’m having twins, Dad. I look like an elephant.”
“I imagine Tristan would be very annoyed to hear you say that.” Richard let out a sigh. He took a seat in the nearest chair and stared up at her. “I’ve always dreamed about giving you away. You deserve a good, honest man, Vicki. I don’t want to think about the rest of it.” He let his hand drift to her stomach and then back up. “I never thought a man would be good enough for my girl. Tristan, is totally in love with you. I see it written on his face every time he looks at you. I couldn’t ask for a better man to love you.”
