“I’ll pass,” Della said. She wasn’t hungry. If she had been, the sight of the hairy waitress probably would have curbed her appetite. The lady shrugged, grunted, and waddled off. She wore sweat pants with the word “JUICY” embroidered across the back. Della shook her head at the thought of all that jelly being called juicy.
Not too many people were dancing to the loud music blasting out of two large speakers. A washed-up, ex-stripper looked at herself in the mirror as she pulled it all the way down. Della spotted the same old dude from the Mini Club in the middle of the dance floor. Pops was juking, but he was still offbeat. He needed to turn the station in his head. It was obviously playing a rock tune.
She went to the bar and ordered a drink. She passed on the brown liquor because she didn’t want to get wasted. She needed her mental faculties about her for what she planned to carry out.
Walking around the small club, she sipped a cranberry juice and Vodka. When she spotted Steve and Donald she walked over to their table and took a seat next to Steve.
“Hey niggas. Where y’all been?” she greeted them with false enthusiasm. “I haven’t seen y’all in a minute. What’s up with that? Y’all old ladies got y’all on lock?” She rubbed on Steve’s back flirtatiously.
“I be gettin’ out sometimes,” Steve said. He checked out Della’s outfit and a big grin spread across his face. “Damn, you wearing the hell outta that skirt.”
She looked across the table at Donald. “And what about you, playa? What’s up?”
“It’s all good. You know how it be. I’m my own man. Nobody got me on lock,” he bragged. All the while, he ogled her breasts.
“So, what’s on the agenda for later on? Y’all know how I like to party.” She jiggled her breasts for emphasis. “What’s up?”
“Nothing. We just playing Spades. Chilling,” Steve said. She almost burst out laughing because Steve was about as dumb as a wheelbarrow of rocks. He was just another poor pimp trying to be a gangster.
“Hey, I got a room at The Rand Motel. It’s got a fully stocked bar and everything. Why don’t we take the party there? Y’all wanna get high and fuck, or would y’all rather continue to play cards?” She gazed from one to the other.
“The Rand Motel? Is that the hotel with the Jacuzzi and mirrors on the ceiling and shit?” Donald asked, perking up.
“That’s right,” she purred. “While you get busy, you can see it all. You can watch the dick sliding all in and out the pussy.” Steve’s mouth dropped open, but he said nothing. “They even have porn channels, too.”
“Oh, hell yes! Let’s bounce up out of this bitch!” Donald threw his cards on the table. “I’m through losing my money anyway.”
“I’m down. Let’s roll,” Steve finally said. They got up from the card table and followed Della out the club. She began chanting “It’s Your Birthday” by Luke and The 2 Live Crew. She couldn’t wait for the real party to begin.
She played it cool, lightening a joint as she drove toward The Rand Motel, and passed it around. Enough time had passed for Donald and Steve to have forgotten what happened. It would be fun refreshing their memories. She hadn’t forgotten. As a matter of fact, she had a recurring nightmare about it every night.
Once in the hotel room, Della fixed drinks. While the men downed the liquor, she played something sexy by Monifah and did a freaky dance, getting them all hot and bothered.
“I want to give both of you an all over body massage,” she said seductively.
“Yes,” Donald piped up. “That’s what’s up!” “Get undressed,” she instructed. “Don, you lay on this end of the bed. Steve, you lie on the other end. I’ll rub you both down with some baby oil.”
Both men took off their shirts and pants, leaving on boxers. They got comfortable on opposite ends of the kingsized bed and then Della gave them both massages.
“Tonight, I want to be completely uninhibited. Do y’all mind? I mean, I got blindfolds and handcuffs. I want this to be off the chain!” She pulled on her leather gloves. The men were clueless, thinking it was part of the foreplay.
“Damn, Della! You know how to get all kind of freaky,” Steve said. “I’m lying here half-naked. Why don’t you come over and slob on this dick, and let’s get things on and popping?’”
She sucked them off, so they wouldn’t guess she was setting them up for a downfall. She had to be sure they didn’t suspect anything foul in order to pull it off.
“Steve, I’m going to put these handcuffs on you, Big Daddy.”
“Wait a minute. I don’t know about that.” Steve tensed up. “That’s a little too close to being a slave.”
“You can put them on me, baby,” Donald volunteered. “Then I want you to sit on my face and ride it until you cum. Come on and bring that juicy ass over here.”
“Well, if you gonna ride my face, you can put them on me,” Steve consented. “Just as long as I get to ride your face, too.” He chuckled and groped his dick.
“I’ll be glad to. Go ahead and take them boxers off,” she said and he did so eagerly.
Della smirked. She snapped a set of handcuffs on Donald and another set on Steve.
“What next?” Donald asked, excited.
“Next, I’m going to reach under my skirt and take off my g-string. Which one of you wants to sniff them?”
“Damn! I do. That type of shit turns me on,” Donald said.
She removed her panties and threw them over his face. Taking a blindfold, she tied it around Steve’s eyes.
“Hey, it’s kind of dark. I can’t see shit,” he whined.
“That’s they way it’s supposed to be," she said sweetly. She wanted to throat-chop his ass, but held back. Instead, she gently rubbed his chest until he relaxed.
“Ah shit. The freakiness is about to begin,” Donald said, licking his lips. His dick was fully erect. He sniffed her panties that still covered his face and waited in anticipation. “Damn, if my hands weren’t cuffed, I’d jack off with these panties.”
Della retrieved her gun and hit Donald in the head with one swift move. He made a grunting sound, but it was mistaken as a moan of pleasure by Steve since he couldn’t see anything.
Della placed the revolver against Donald’s forehead and put her index finger to her lips. “I want you to take this blindfold and tie his feet together. Do it now,” she said, lips pressed to his ear.
Donald quickly moved to comply. He grabbed Steve’s feet and wrapped the blindfold around them. It took a while since the handcuffs restricted his movement, but he finally got it accomplished.
“Hey. What the fuck is going on?” Steve sat up. “Wait. What y’all doing?” he asked, trying to kick free. Donald held him firmly.
“Shut the fuck up,” Della snarled and struck him with the butt of the gun causing him to fall back on the pillow. Donald hurriedly finished tying his feet together.
“Shit!” he swore. “What the fuck I done got myself into?”
“Now, turn your ass around and get on top of him,” she instructed Donald.
“What?” he asked dumbly, giving her a Scooby Doo, perplexed look.
“You heard me motherfucker! 69 bitch! That’s what I’m talking about. Get your crusty ass on top of him and put your dick in his mouth!”
“I’m not doing that. I’m straight up masculine. One hundred percent man.”
“Motherfucker, do you think I won’t cap your ass?” She pressed the revolver into his shoulder.
“I can’t do that shit. My manhood will be at stake. Come on now, Della. Please!”
She narrowed her eyes and pulled the trigger. He yowled in pain, grabbing his shoulder with his cuffed hands. Blood soon seeped through his fingers.
“Aw shit! Man, she shot me!” Donald was nearly in tears.
“Della, what the fuck is going on? Take these handcuffs off of me. Get this shit off my eyes!” Steve was near hysterics. It was funny to witness him breaking down.
“Don’t worry. I’ll take the blindfold off when I
m good and ready. I want you to be able to see everything that Don is about to do to you.”
“No. Uh, uh. I ain’t down with no gay shit. You taking things too far.”
“Am I really, motherfucker?” she yelled. “Just like y’all took things too far when y’all ran a train on me while I was drugged up?”
“That wasn’t us. Lester was behind that,” Steve said. “We didn’t even know the shit was gonna go down like that.”
“Oh, shit. I’mma die,” Donald moaned.
“Just like y’all took things too far when y’all fucked me in the ass?” she continued, ignoring their words.
“I’mma bleed to death. Please, Della. I need help,” Donald cried.
“You’re right about that. You need help, just like you need Jesus, motherfucker! Now shut the fuck up and get on top of Steve!” Donald sobbed like a toddler being put in timeout, but did as instructed.
“No. Get off me, man. Get the fuck off!” Steve bucked and jerked, trying to throw the other man off of him.
“I gotta do what she say do. I don’t wanna get shot again. Just be still, man.”
“Be still my ass! This is not gonna go down.”
“Oh, it’s going down alright, down your motherfucking throat!” Della snarled. “Donald, put your dick in his mouth.”
“No, no, no, no. Don’t do it man. Don’t. Stop thi-” His words got cut off when Donald’s penis slid past his lips. He coughed, gagged, and choked. Della snatched the blindfold from his eyes so he could witness himself deep-throating another man’s dick. Tears of humiliation streamed down his cheeks.
“Look, motherfucker. You got another man’s dick in your mouth. How you like them nuts?” She laughed wildly. “Now Don, take his dick and put it in your mouth. I mean it. Balls to the walls!” She aimed the gun at his head. “Don’t even think about not doing it.”
She waited until they were completely 69-ing each other then took out her digital camera.
“Say cheese! Or should it be, say nuts?” She giggled. Both men sobbed as she took pictures.
“Y’all like to videotape bitches while y’all piss all over them, huh? How does it feel now that the shoe is on the other foot?” Neither could speak with their mouths full.
She stood over them and glared down, feeling no remorse. How could she feel sorry for two rapists? That’s the way she saw it.
“If it’s of any consolation, Lester got his, too,” she said. “Y’all lucky I didn’t bring a vibrator, or your assholes would be raw and bloody when you left this motherfucker.” She laughed again at the pure terror she saw in their eyes.
Chapter Sixteen
Even though she’d gotten even with the ones who hurt her, Della still felt empty inside. There was a void that she just couldn’t fill. She didn’t even know how to begin filling it. She’d experienced so much pain, betrayal and heartache most of her life. How could she erase any of it?
Getting even with Lester, Steve and Don pacified her a little. Yet, years of abuse took residence in her heart and soul and couldn’t be easily evicted. The person she really wanted to get even with was her mother, Lorain Wilkerson.
Thinking about her mother brought forth memories she’d pay to have erased forever…
“Lil’ girl, listen to me carefully,” the drug dealer told her. He was a tall, menacing figure with gold teeth and cornrows. “This ain’t that regular shit. Tell ya mama this shit here is pure. She can’t use a large dose of this. She got to use a lil’ at a time. You understand me?”
Della nodded as she took the bag. Her mother was going through withdrawal symptoms. She’d sent Della to get her fix. Della hated it. She hated the drugs and the dealers. She hated what she sometimes had to do to get the drugs, and she hated her mother.
When she returned to the filthy apartment where they lived, Lorain snatched the bag greedily. She already had the rubber tied around her arm. A syringe, a spoon, a lighter, cotton swabs, and a needle rested next to her on the floor.
“Ma, he said-”
“Don’t talk to me right now!” Lorain yelled. Her hand holding the lighter under the bent spoon shook.
“But, Ma-”
“Get your ass out of here!” Lorain shrieked.
“I hate you!” Della screamed back and ran outside. She sat on the steps and cried. When her tears finally stopped, she watched the cars passing and people walking by. She waited for her mother to come get her. It got dark and Lorain never came outside or peered out the door to call her inside. Finally, hunger drove her back into the drab apartment.
The sight that greeted her became embedded in her memory forever. Her mother lay in a pool of vomit. Her body was twisted and convulsing.

It had been a close call, but Lorain didn’t die. She’d been court ordered into a drug treatment program which she didn’t stick to. Six months later she was strung out again. She hooked up with a low-life scumbag named Darien who kept her supplied with drugs. The price she had to pay was he had free access to Della anytime he wanted. Night after night, Lorain exchanged her daughter’s innocence for a temporary high.
“Why couldn’t you just die?” Della mumbled.
Della didn’t realize she’d spoken the words aloud until she noticed Toby, Shae, Larry, and Jimmy staring at her strangely.
“Why couldn’t who die?” Toby asked. “We were talking about the Super Bowl. It’s not even that serious!”
“Er…I’ll be back. I have to use the bathroom,” she said, getting up from the couch abruptly.
“What’s wrong with her?” Jimmy’s brows furrowed in puzzlement.
“Jimmy, I don’t know how to tell you this-” Shae began. She threw Larry a look and he nodded knowingly.
“I think I’ll take Charles and Chris outside. Let us know when dinner is ready,” Larry said. Shae smiled her appreciation. It was just like Larry to be so thoughtful and sensitive. “Come on fellas, let’s go toss around the football.” Charles and Chris followed their uncle outside.
“If you can’t tell him, I will,” Toby said. He really didn’t want to, but if his sister couldn’t handle it, he’d step up to the plate.
“No, I’ll do it. Jimmy-” She exhaled then continued on in a gentle voice. “Something horrible happened to Della not too long ago.” She paused to gather her wits. She got angry all over again when she thought about the tape and what the men did to Della. She breathed in deeply, exhaled and went on. “She was at a house party and someone drugged her drink. They raped her and videotaped it.”
“My God!” Jimmy stared at them in shock. “Why didn’t anyone tell me about this sooner?”
“What could you do about it, old man? Get yourself locked up? You ain’t cut out for jail,” Toby said. “Besides, she didn’t want you to know,” he added.
“Why wouldn’t she want me to know? I’m her father.”
“There are some things you just don’t tell your daddy,”
Toby pointed out. He’d never tell Jimmy that he’d longed for a father all his life, or that he felt jilted. “I found the man who was making the tapes and put him out of business.”
“Good.” Jimmy wrung his heads in agitation. Once again, he hadn’t been there for one of his children. How could he make amends? Would there ever come a day when they’d forgive him or even consider him their father?
“I think Della needs help. She’s acting like what happened to her doesn’t matter, but I know it does,” Shae said. “Maybe you can talk to her.”
“I’ll see what I can do.” He said and sighed loudly.
“I didn’t want to spoil dinner, but I just thought you should know what happened,” Shae said.
“Thanks for telling me.” He gave her a grateful smile. “It means a lot.”
“Okay, enough of this drab talk. I’m hungrier than a bear. Let’s eat,” Toby intervened, lightening the mood.
“Vivian and Richard haven’t made it yet,” Shae said.
Just as she said that her phone rang. “Hello?’r />
“I bet that’s them,” Toby said. “They better be on the way. I’m ready to get my grub on.”
“Richard and Vivian can’t make it,” Shae told them, ending the call. “Something came up.”
“Good. More food for me,” Toby said and they laughed. “I’ll go get Larry and the twins.” He bounced out of the house with all the exuberance of a seventeen-year-old.
Jimmy sighed regretfully. He’d missed out on watching his son grow into a man. How could he make up for lost time, if ever?
He looked at his daughter. She’d developed into such a beautiful woman…without his help. It hadn’t been easy and she’d paid such a high price.
Shae caught him staring and shifted uncomfortably.
“I guess I’ll set the table,” she said and got up.
“I’ll go wash up. Do you want me to wake Imani from her nap?”
“Yes, will you?”
“No problem.”
“Thank you.”
It wasn’t long before the gang came in, washed their hands and sat at the table. Shae had outdone herself. She’d cooked a traditional Sunday soul food dinner. There were collard greens, potato salad, baked beans, baked macaroni and cheese, ox tails, green beans, fried chicken, corn bread and sweet potato pie.
Larry said the grace. “Baby, you put ya toe in it!” Larry complimented as he took a bite of collard greens. Shae smiled as she strapped Imani in her booster seat.
