I Am Moore Page 10

Evan abandoned Emery’s breast long enough to drop every restriction that held him and then helped Emery out of the rest of her clothes. The temperature in the room rose by several degrees as the sexual entanglement continued. Emery placed her hands on Emery’s shoulders and seductively pushed him down onto the couch he stood in front of. She needed to feel him inside her. She needed Evan to fill her up. There was no objection from Evan. He liked it when Emery took charge. When she straddled him, planting her feet on each side of him, Evan’s hands immediately moved to her tapered waist; holding her as she lowered herself on his stiff erection. Evan’s mouth fell open as he watched her puss envelop him in her feminine warmth.

“Shit…” he uttered as Emery took him in to the hilt. His natural reaction was to thrust, but Emery stopped him.

“Let me,” she moaned. He wasn’t going to fight her.

  Full…

That’s how Emery felt when she arrived; so full of emotions agreeing and contradicting. Her mother, the words her great=grandmother shared, her own emotional baggage… she was full of too much turmoil that clouded her head and pained her heart. At the same time, loving words made her feel deeply and consider things she would rather let be. Emery was full. She needed that mental fullness replaced with the physical filling up of a man she cared deeply about; a man who helped her forget her troubles and the conflicting positions she frequently took. Emery wanted to be filled with the simple pleasure of relating one on one, heart to heart and soul to soul with the man who made it hard for her to breathe.

Emery relished in the moment of her previously fullness being replaced. Her jewel throbbed pulsating from the fleshly sensation of Evan inside her. The sensation increased as she flexed and released her womanly walls; pulling and releasing and then squeezing his thickness again; coating it with the dew of her libidinous loins. Evan’s head fell back between his shoulders as he felt the tingling sensation; his manhood pressed against her g-spot.

Slowly, Emery lifted herself until Evan’s manhood teetered at the edge of release. She hovered her womanhood there and Evan squirmed underneath, releasing her waist and gripping the couch. The tease… When Emery lowered enveloping him fully and then lifting again, allowing air to pass between them, Evan groaned again; his knuckles pronounced from the grip he held on the cushion. Emery pursed her lips as he filled her and filled her again. She craved him, and her flesh responded as she swirled her hips bending Evan’s thickness into every crevice. Placing her hands on Evan’s strong shoulders, Emery shortened her stroke. It as quick, fast and dirty; her ass slapping against his thighs; her tits bouncing against his chest. Evan lifted his head and watched her fucking him. His hands found her waist again and his legs tensed as he thrust to meet her downward stroke. Emery’s eyes closed as her head fell between her shoulders and her back arched. Evan pounded her flesh and Emery squealed with delight.

The quickening in her jewel cascaded hot wetness, stirring Evan even higher.

  “Babe, babe,” Evan panted.

“Yes, Evan, please, cum for me,” Emery stuttered as he rocked her hitting her g repeatedly.

Evan’s thrusting increased, and Emery rode him hard. His thighs tensed as sticky wetness erupted through him, spilling into Emery’s pussy. He growled, she moaned and as their collective motion slowed, Emery leaned against his forehead; his beads of sweat comingling with hers. He filled her up. She was satiated.

They held each other until the beats of their hearts returned to normal. Evan stroked Emery’s tresses as she rested on him, inhaling when he inhaled and exhaling when he exhaled. Emery eased her body alongside Evan, and he cradled her in his arm as he turned and lifted himself from the couch. The visual of Evan standing naked in front of her was tempting. Emery looked up with flirty eyes and a sneaky smile.

“Mmhmm,” Evan muttered. “Come on, girl,” he teased. Evan reached down for Emery’s hand and assisted her to standing. He had a similar reaction to her naked body standing in front of him. It was his turn to usher a lascivious smile and a sensual lick to his full lips.

“Mmhmm,” Emery uttered, taking a few sultry steps in front of him. The sway of her ass transfixed Evan.

  “Come on, boy.”

With a smirk, Evan fell in line behind her, pressing his nakedness against her nakedness; wrapping his arms around her waist and mimicking her steps into the master. Emery giggled as Evan nibbled lightly on her neck.

“Stop Evan!” She squirmed trying to pull away.

“You know you don’t want me to,” Evan chided, nuzzling her neck even more and tickling her bare stomach.

“Oh my God, Evan!” Emery convulsed with laughter. He liked to hear her laugh. He liked to see her happy. Once they got to the king-sized bed, Evan lifted emery into his arms and tumbled them both onto the bed. Emery’s giggling tickled Evan’s ear and caused a wide smile to spread across his lips. Lying on top of him, Emery felt such joy. Underneath that was a peace she’d never felt with any other man. She had come to trust Evan. Emery didn’t think it was possible, not with everything going on in her life, but she really did. It helped that Evan hadn’t done anything to cause distrust since they first got together. But, at the end of the day, he had earned her trust. Emery could be vulnerable with him when a vulnerability in other areas of her life was dangerous. She could be honest with Evan when honesty caused pain for herself and others in different facets of her life.

As her laughter subsided, Emery stroked Evan’s head and tugged lightly at his ear. He saw her face settle and her eyes soften.

“You want to talk about it?”

Emery toyed with the idea. She could unload all her emotional baggage on Evan. He would listen intently, and only offer suggestions if she asked. He wouldn’t try to convince her of anything, but he would listen intently with a desire to make things better with and for her. As Emery contemplated, she traced his jawline with her finger; appreciation the strength and definition.

  “No,” Emery whispered.

“Are you sure, babe,” Evan asked, sliding her further up so they were nose to nose. Even though he had just danced between her thighs, lying there with her goaded his manhood to rise. A smile trickled across Emery’s lips as she felt his thickness rise and a quickening in her own belly. Evan desired more. Emery was hard to resist. Shifting underneath her so Emery lay side by side with him, Evan’s hands traced her silhouette; the slender of her waist, the pronouncement of her hip. His dick throbbed incessantly as his hands cupped her ass. Emery pressed against him, purring under his touch. Evan’s manhood found her mound moist as he moved into her welcoming folds. Emery’s eyes widened as inch after delectable inch pressed its way within her, swelling inside her. She could feel Evan’s warm breath on her ear as he held her tightly. Their bodies became one flesh and she moved with him; guided by his powerfully deep slow thrusts. Evan’s mouth found her earlobe as she lifted her leg, giving him greater access to her jewel.

The low growl that spilled from his lips titillated Emery and she reached back cupping his flesh with her hand. Emery’s body shivered with salacious trills as Evan pulled her to his push. Emery lost herself in the rapture Evan created for her as he strived to please her.

  “Emery…”

He called her name. his baritone voice echoed within her, reverberating in her soul.

The veins running the length of his manhood swole in her warmth as Evan stroked, cradling Emery in his arms.

“I love you,” he breathed in her ear.

  Those three words…

Emery’s heart fluttered, and her body released a wave of heat that covered Evan completely.

A single tear brimmed on Emery’s lid as she basked in Evan’s aura. She felt his heart. There was a connection Emery could not deny. Evan’s hold on her tightened as a powerful orgasm rose inside him. He uttered those words again.

“I love you,” he chortled, speaking the trueness of his heart.

Evan couldn’t hold back, what he felt, what he thought, what he wanted.
His teeth clenched, and a guttural growl shook through him. When hot gism moved through him, Emery’s body received it and she offered him her own libidinous nectar. Emery could feel the sweat on his body as he panted against her neck. Emery had never experienced such ecstasy in her life before. It was more than just physical. It was soulful.

  “I love you, too.”

  Chapter Ten

With the most recent successes at her firm, Emery’s office was inundated with phone calls from prospective clients desirous of her legal expertise. Sitting behind her executive desk, Emery was knee-deep in legalese and loving every minute of it. There was something about the law that always attracted her. Unlike other things, the law was based on evidence and facts. That was different than justice. Emery understood the difference as justice could easily be impeded by things like emotions, social status, prejudice and ignorance. But the law was the law. Emery was in a good place. For the first time, her professional life and her personal life were moving in a positive direction and it felt damn good.

Malcolm rapped gently on Emery’s door, pulling her attention from the brief she was working on.

“Ms. Moore, sorry to disturb you but you have a visitor.”

Emery looked down at her planner; the place where she wrote everything down.

“I don’t see an appointment, Malcolm,” Emery replied, looking up from her desk.

“No, it’s not a scheduled appointment.”

Evan, Emery thought. He was always surprising her.

“It’s fine. Malcolm,” she replied, “Send him in.”

Emery turned her face towards the oval mirror that sat on the corner of the desk. She checked her hair and her lips in preparation for her surprise.

There was another soft rap to the door.

“Come in,” Emery called out, adjusting to sitting upright in her chair.

When the door opened, Emery fully expected Evan to be standing there. Her eyes widened as Samantha McLemore walked inside.

Samantha was nervous. She looked scared as she stood just inside the door.

“I hope I’m not disturbing you,” Samantha said as she took a tentative step towards Emery who sat there outdone at Samantha’s gall.

“I’m working,” Emery replied conveying that indeed she was being disturbed.

“I figured if I called, you wouldn’t accept,” Samantha suggested.

She was right. Emery had no desire to speak with her, so she would have ignored any attempt at communication.

“True,” Emery agreed. “What do you want,” Emery asked as she stood up. Gingerly, Samantha took another step forward.

“I want to talk to you, get to know you,” Samantha offered. “You are my sister after all.”

  Emery drew back.

  “What?”

“You are my sister, Emery,” Samantha repeated. She moved forward. Emery looked at her, seeing similarities and differences, but not seeing her kin.

“We may have the same parents, Samantha,” Emery began, “but we, are not sisters.” Emery stood firmly and took a decisive step forward; the distance between the two women eradicating as she spoke. “You have not earned the right to be called sister.”

Although Emery’s words stung, Samantha expected it.

“I didn’t ask for this Emery,” Samantha pleaded. “I didn’t ask for any of this.”

“Neither did I,” Emery agreed. “I mean, what did you expect, Samantha, for us to welcome you with open arms?”

Samantha paused. “No, I didn’t,” she replied. “All I want is a chance.”

There was a part of Emery that realized she was taking out her anger and frustration on the wrong person. Yet, it didn’t stop the way she felt.

  “A chance?”

“A chance, Emery, that’s all I’m asking. The chance to be a part of my real family was taken from me. I didn’t have a say in that. But I knew something was missing from my life, even as a little girl, I didn’t fit with the people I was with. I was different from them. I didn’t feel connected to them. They loved me, and I appreciated that, but Emery, they were not my family.”

The words from Samantha’s lips reflected her heart. She fought off the tears that threatened to stain her cheeks; pressing against the back of her eyes.

“I just want a chance to get to know my family.” Samantha couldn’t hold back the tears anymore. She cried tears from her past and her present; tears that reflected her anguish in being separated for so long. The weight of her anguish caused Samantha to sit heavily on the couch, covering her face with shaking hands.

Unexpectedly, Emery’s heart was pricked by Samantha’s tears. She’d only had that feeling when someone she loved, her sisters, were hurting. Walking to the corner of her desk, trying to shake the tinge in her heart, Emery reached for a Kleenex and gave it to Samantha. Looking up, Samantha accepted the tissue from Emery.

“Thank you,” she uttered as she dabbed at her cheeks, trying to quell the tears. “I’m sorry,” Samantha began, lifting herself from the couch. “I didn’t mean to”

Her voice trailed off choking back the tears. Samantha moved toward the door, ready to abandon the idea.

“Hold on, Samantha,” Emery replied as she moved a step toward her. Languidly, Samantha halted her step and turned toward Emery. When their eyes connected, Emery could see Samantha’s pain. She couldn’t harden her heart to a circumstance that was not Samantha’s fault. She was as much a victim in this situation as any of them.

“Listen,” Emery began, not sure of what she felt in her heart to say. “This situation isn’t easy for any of us.”

Samantha was surprised by what Emery said. There was a part of Emery that was equally as shocked. She was fully prepared to dismiss this girl like a stranger. Having her family remain her family without any unwelcomed additions would be easy and really what Emery determined for herself. The truth of the matter was, Samantha was never given a choice in the matter and she was brave enough to step out of the world she knew, her familiar, to risk trying to fit into a real family who had no idea she even existed. Like Samantha, Emery and her sisters weren’t given a choice either. Samantha had been brave; maybe Emery could, too.

“We’ve had each other all this time, so I can see how this would be especially hard for you. I’m not making any promises, Samantha.”

Samantha read Emery’s eyes and heard her words. Still, it was hard to be hopeful even though she desperately wanted to be.

“Emery,” she began, but Emery stopped her from saying anything else.

“I can’t make any promises,” Emery said again. “What I can do, is give it a chance. I don’t know what that looks like or how it will happen, but I can try.”

“That’s all I can hope for, Emery,” Samantha wished. New tears sprung from her eyes and there was a strong desire to throw her arms around Emery’s neck, appreciating her willingness. But, Samantha resisted the urge and instead offered a smile that accompanied the tears.

“The only thing I ask, is that you let me make the first, well, the second move, okay,” Emery implored.

“I promise, Emery! I promise, I won’t pester you or badger you; the other sisters either,” Samantha oozed. “I promise.”

Emery couldn’t help but smile at Samantha’s enthusiasm. It became clearer that Samantha’s intention was never to hurt Emery’s family, to diminish who she was in their eyes or even try to take Emery’s place. Samantha just wanted her family.”

The two exchanged smiles before Samantha waved and made her exit. Emery stood there for a while considering what just happened. Despite her anger, frustration, confusion and doubt, she was not the kind of woman to go back on a promise. She would try. Emery wasn’t sure when or how, but she would try.”

Like Emery, Evan was working hard. And like Emery, Evan loved every minute of it. His clientele had always been prestigious, and Evan’s firm of Stanton and Reese represented some of the wealthiest clients in the country. There was always a high-profile case that warranted his at
tention, and today was no exception. The next case pitted Evan against an old familiar friend, Tristan Summers. Many private attorneys like Emery, Evan and Tristan had the ability to play both sides of the aisle, dependent on who the client was, the case was and how much money was involved. They could prosecute and defend, as that was case-specific. And this time, Evan was pitted against Tristan who was the prosecutor. This time, Evan was representing the defendant; a wall street broker who got in over his head whistleblowing on one of the most powerful banking companies in the southeast. The trial wasn’t going to be easy. Tristan was a formidable foe. But, Evan was not the kind of man, the kind of attorney to back down from a fight. He intended to be ready. Besides, as soon as he got his work done for the day, he had a date with the woman who changed his perspective; changed his life for the better.

Just thinking about Emery and what she’d meant to him these past few months had Evan thinking, long-term. That was a first. And although he had not been the kind of man who wanted to settle down in the past, Evan wanted permanency and stability with the love of his life. He hoped Emery wanted that, too. He just needed to make sure she knew how much he loved her. There was a buzz on his office line just as Evan picked up his cell phone to send his girl a text.
