Breaking Roman (The Moran Family Book 3) Page 32

by Alexis James

Contrary to how it may seem, writing the acknowledgements for a book is not an easy task. There is always a long list of people to thank, and in my case it’s usually the same cast of characters. Which is a good thing, right?

More than anything, I need to thank my husband. He’s is so darn supportive of this crazy thing I’ve gotten myself into. Even though he rolls his eyes at the hot guys on the covers of my books, and will probably never read a word I’ve written, he encourages me to pursue this dream of mine each and every day. He understands that writing is a business and because of that I may not always have dinner on the table or be available to go for a spur of the moment hike. His love and support is everything, and without it my little dream would have stayed locked away forever. Mark…I love you and I’m so very, very blessed to call you mine.

To my mom, who will drop anything to read a book of mine, and who will eagerly read the same manuscript over and over again just because….I thank you and I love you. They are not just words. I could not do this without you. You’re my assistant/beta reader/editor/psychologist all rolled into one and I’m so grateful we’re on this journey together. It’s because of you that I love to read, and because of that love of reading that I became a writer.

Dad…I can’t thank you enough for always, always, ALWAYS encouraging me and asking me about my writing. Your pride in me and what I do lifts me up, especially on those days when the work is beating me down. I’m such a lucky gal to have you in my corner and I love you so much!

My beautiful, amazing kids….you’ve grown up to be such extraordinary adults. I hope you both know how proud dad and I are of you. Thank you for helping me with book covers and names, and supporting me 100% in what I do. I’ve said it before and I’ll say it again (and again…)…I am so very blessed to be your mom. I love you both!

To my girls….Deb, Dee, Jessi, Randyn, Cin & Lori….thank you. Thank you for listening. Thank you for caring. Thank you for slapping me upside the head when I need it. Thanks for the honest criticism, the words of support, the book talk over glasses of wine. You ladies are the best and I love you!

Max….I am so very, very grateful to have you as my editor and wise counsel. I’m a better writer because of you.

Kari…Bringing my beautiful ‘family’ to life was no easy task, but you have done it flawlessly and always with enthusiasm and kindness. I can’t wait to see what you come up with for the Moran sisters!

Stacey…thank you for putting the final, perfect touches on my books with your expert formatting. I’m so very grateful!

To all the bloggers out there who are gracious enough to sign-up for my cover releases and book blitzes, I thank you. You folks are by far one of a writer’s most precious commodities and I’m very thankful for the work you do for all of us.

To my #TipsyChat family….our Tuesday night chats are something I look forward to each and every week. The support we give to one another – in anything we do – is so very rare. I thank you for that. I raise my wine glass (and my cookies) to all of you!

This book is dedicated to my father-in-law Tom, who we sadly lost a few years ago. I’m so very honored to have had him in my life. He accepted me without question, enfolding me into his family. Dad…I will always be your ‘little redhead’; your Oreo eating buddy and fellow lover of mushrooms. I see you every day in Mark’s smile and in his sense of humor. Not a day goes by when I don’t miss you. You have enriched my life in so many ways and I will be forever grateful for you.

Finally, I would like to thank my beautiful daughter-in-law. You love my son as ferociously as I do and for that I will always be grateful. We are honored to have you as part of the family and we love you very much.

Alexis James lives in sunny California, where she was born and raised. When she’s not spending time with her hubby of almost 30 years, you can find her tapping away on the computer or reading obsessively. Introduced to books at an early age by her mom, she has a great passion for a good love story, and the occasional murder mystery too. She’s always searching for the next, heart-tugging romance, and has recently become a huge fan of M/M love stories. She enjoys a good date night, an inexpensive bottle of wine (red in the winter, white for summertime), and any story that can make her smile and/or cry. She and her family enjoy camping anywhere and everywhere, and her favorite spot by far is the Grand Canyon.

Alexis is the proud mom of two adult children. Her college-aged daughter (also an avid reader) still lives at home. Her son, his wife, and her ‘grand pups’, visit frequently. Being a mom is her greatest joy and she’s happiest when the house is filled with her kids and their friends, most of whom call her “Mama”.

Alexis’s first novel, “Losing Faith”, was released in September 2014. Her second novel, “Loving Emma”, is a standalone, though it does feature some characters from “Losing Faith”. The first book in The Moran Family series – “Saving Cruz” – was released in October 2016. It is the first of 5 in the series.
