Nobody Can Love You Like Them Roughnecks Do 3 Page 32

I wanted to pack a little bag and put up what I’d gotten from shopping today before going over there.

“Ah!” I screamed when I hopped out of the car. A big tall man in all black had a gun and slipped it right into my mouth when I hollered.

Pushing the hood back slightly to expose his face, Belly smirked down at me. And even though I was frightened, I couldn’t help but to admire how handsome this man was. Him being this close to me had my panties a little wet.

However, after his serial killer fiancée came and tried to electrocute and stab me, I would forever pass on that dick. It was obviously good enough to kill over, and I had other shit I needed to be focused on, not Belly’s satanic ass dick.

“You thought all them little games and shit you was playing were funny, huh?” He grinned evilly.

“Mmm.” I shook my head ‘no’ as much as I could. Pee trickled down my leg, heating up my skin.

“Let me make some shit clear, Nichole. If you do one more muthafuckin’ thing, just one, I will murder you. I don’t give a fuck if you simply step on Blaise’s shoe and say excuse me two seconds too late, I’m blowing ya fucking head open. Be lucky you got a kid about to slide out of that busted open ass pussy or else I’d blast yo’ shit right now. Do you understand what the fuck I just said? And most importantly, do you understand that I mean every fucking word? I don’t make threats for play play; I come through on my shit.”

I nodded, tears seeping out of my eyes. He and Blaise belonged together.

“I get it, I do. I haven’t done a thing,” I whimpered when he retrieved his gun from my mouth.

He said nothing else as he went toward my house, hopped the gate, and then hopped another like a werewolf or something.

Looking down at my pee stained driveway, I gathered my shopping bags from the trunk and took my ass in the house for a bath.

My day had been draining enough, so seeing Ian tonight was a negative.

  Two mornings later…

Some of the girls I danced with, along with Blaise, were about to do this little trail thing just to get some exercise. Blaise wanted her son to bring his ass out, so any kind of walking she could do, she did it.

I was just happy to have my best friend with me. We were like sisters, so I never missed an opportunity to have her around.

“Look at this belly.” I rubbed it after stretching. “It’s so beautiful.”

“I’m ready for my normal belly.” She laughed, looking down. “I want my body back.” She pouted.

“Oh my gosh!” Brittany grinned when Blaise’s belly began moving. It was amazing seeing her son move around like that.

“I know it looks cool, but it hurts.” Blaise frowned.

“Can you still do the trail?” I asked.

“Yes, it’s fine. Anything to speed up the birth.”

We all chuckled, just as Katie and a few other girls rushed over to us, full of excitement.

“Alright, ladies, are we ready? Let’s go!” Katie screeched.

She started off, so we followed her, keeping up a nice walking pace while sipping our water and conversing. It was super-hot up where we were, so it didn’t take any time for the sweat to pour.

“Hey, Blaise. You think you could get an autograph for my man from your man?” This girl named Macy looked over her shoulder.

  “Yeah, sure.”

“Okay. I’ll bring one of his posters of Belly to Priscilla for her to pass on. I didn’t want to ask, but he found out Priscilla knew you and wouldn’t leave me alone.”

“It’s okay.” Blaise smiled. We all giggled at Macy’s comment and her shaking her head at her boyfriend.

“Look at the way you smile when people mention Belly. I can’t wait to feel like that again.” I nudged Blaise, thinking back to days when I used to get all warm inside when I would post dancing videos to Rafi’s hits. We were so close then. That’s when I thought us being low-key was cute.

  “You will, watch.”

The trail walk was over about an hour later, so we all sat down on the table benches to eat whatever food we brought. Katie had a cooler, so anyone who didn’t bring food, she provided it. She was cool, I just didn’t like how loud she was and how she tried to be down.

“Damn, Katie, you got a glow. I mean your white ass is always bright, but it’s something different. You must have gotten some dick.” Brittany squinted her eyes, making us cackle.

“I did. I ain’t gon’ say from who though, because he used to date one of our people. Well, she ain’t our people no more.”

“Only person we haven’t seen in a while is Dionne,” Zyla, our usual choreographer chimed in. She and Katie both choreographed well, just different styles. Reddi switched between the two, depending on what she wanted.

The mention of Dionne really made me pay attention, because I only knew of one man that claimed Dionne, and it was Will.

“Damn, y’all hoes just had to pull it out of me. But yes, Dionne’s ex, or maybe he ain’t her ex. I’m not sure, but he fucked me, and good. The first time was impromptu, but we got it in two more times after that.”

Brittany immediately looked at me. It confused me at first, but I remembered she was in the room when Dionne spilled the beans that I was fucking Will.

“I’m sorry, are you talking about Will?” Blaise’s upfront ass had to ask. She was never one to hold her tongue.

“I am.” Katie hopped up, stuck her tongue out, and started twerking her big butt, causing everyone but Blaise and I to cheer her on.

Blaise looked to me, and I just shrugged it off. This was why I was messing with Sly and proud of it. Will wasn’t about shit.

We finished our lunch and then took the trail back the way we came so we could leave. I dropped Blaise off at home, and because I wanted to confront Will, I went straight to his studio. I tried to ignore what he’d done, but I was pissed the hell off.

I parked right out front and then jogged around onto the sidewalk. I pressed his doorbell constantly until I saw him peek around to see who it was like he always did.

“Damn, baby, you good?” He opened the door for me, so I bumped him on the way in. “Am I missing something?”

  “You fucked Katie?”

  “Huh?”

“Nigga, you are not deaf! Did you fuck Katie Moorehead? The white bitch who sometimes choreographs at the studio I dance at!”

“Okay, yeah I did, but, it’s not what you think it is.”

I started laughing while shaking my head as I paced the front area of his studio. I noticed he upgraded a lot in here, making it look more expensive.

“You just don’t stop fucking things up, do you?”

“Listen, as you wanted, I went to see a therapist. He told me to fuck her.”

“Your therapist told you to go home and fuck Katie. That’s what you want me to believe? You must think I’m a fool.”

“Nah, well, he ain’t say to fuck her. I guess. He wanted me to flirt with her and see what happens. Well not her specifically, but a woman I knew nothing about. Next thing I knew—”

“Okay, and then you went back to fuck her again?”

“Yeah, but to make sure I could actually perform without role play or her being a hoe. I did it too, baby, with no issue. All this shit is for you!”

“Are you fucking demented!” I roared, and he even jumped back. “You having sex with Katie is not for me, and don’t ever say that again!”

  “Priscilla—”

“I’m leaving, and I don’t want you to ever talk to me again. We have absolutely no chance of rekindling anything.” I started to walk to the door, but he rushed to block it.

“Priscilla, baby, don’t do this. I’m trying. This shit sounds wild, but I swear to God I didn’t fuck that girl just because. Yeah, I took my doctor’s advice too far, but it didn’t mean shit. I didn’t want to come to you, knowing I still had issues down there, so I tested it out a few more times. Come on, man.” He pulled me clo
se.

By this time I was crying. I was realizing I liked this man way more than I thought. But why? Why couldn’t I be over him after seeing his disgusting ways? His behaviors should have trumped the way he made me feel.

“No, no, get off me.” I snatched my body when he hugged me tighter then kissed my lips. “This is the end, Willem. Let me by.”

He looked down into my eyes for what seemed like an eternity, and then opened the door to allow me out. I walked right to my car and pulled my phone from my leggings pocket.

Me: I miss you. Wanna hang out tonight?

Sly: Of course. I’ve been missing you too.

Smiling, I dropped my phone into the cup holder and sped off to my house for a shower. I had no business worrying about Will when I had a man like Sly around.

  Blaise

“The baby shower was so beautiful.” My mom reminisced as we ate lunch together. It was Saturday and very nice outside.

  “Yes, I loved it.”

Belly went all out for my baby shower; well, his wallet did. I hired an event planner to make it so perfect and lavish. Everything from the food and drinks, down to the tiniest decorations were handpicked and just flawless.

The bill was hefty, but my man made no complaints, making sure I felt like a queen on that day. I couldn’t remember the last time I was that happy at a celebration for something. Cortez Khalil was just everything to me.

I hated to say it, but this pregnancy had been a totally different experience than when I was carrying Island. To have the father there with me along the way made this so much smoother. My last baby shower was literally in my living room with Priscilla, my mother, and Nichole, plus a few gifts. I was too self-conscious to take any pictures, and too miserable to throw a party.

Despite all that though, I was never not excited to meet my precious baby girl. She made all the turmoil and drama I’d experienced very much worth it. And if I had to go through that all over again to have Island, I would.

“And your maternity pictures… I have never seen a pregnant woman look so good. The one with you and Cortez was adorable too.”

  “Really, Mama?”

It meant a lot to hear that coming from my mother. She was the most superficial and critical person I’d ever met. She never skipped over the opportunity to call someone fat, out of shape, or broke. So to hear her say I looked good was flooring.

It took me weeks to get the courage to post them on Instagram, so I was happy to know my mama agreed with all the sweet comments I’d gotten, plus the 400,000 likes.

“Yes, really. I will admit your outfits were a bit too revealing for my taste, but you looked very good.”

I scrolled through my Instagram page a little more to view my baby shower and maternity pictures for a few more moments with a smile, then I closed my phone up to finish my plate.

My phone began ringing as I adjusted Island’s top, so I grabbed it up to see it was my manager.

  “Hey, Ivory.”

“Hey, honey. You sound happy, so I guess you haven’t seen the blogs this morning?”

“No, I don’t look at that stuff. And I have my notifications off on Instagram so I won’t know when I’m tagged. Why, what’s up?”

  “Helen Jacob, you know her?”

“Unfortunately. We used to be friends many moons ago, but she’s not my style. Why?” I forked my chicken.

“She’s pressing charges against you for assault. She says you broke her nose, forcing her to get cosmetic surgery.”

“Is this a joke?” I chuckled.

“I wish it were. We’re going to need to get you a lawyer and a good one if you don’t want to pay her any money.”

  “Umm, okay.”

“I will call you once I find someone to represent you, sweetie.”

“Thanks.” I sighed, hanging up the phone.

Something always had to ruin my day. I wanted to beat Helen’s ass, but that would do nothing but make shit worse. I couldn’t believe that bitch.

“Who was that?” My mama asked.

“My manager. You remember Helen? She’s suing me because I broke her nose.”

  “Why did you do that?”

“She was trying to fuck my man, so I hit her ass.”

Shaking her head, my mom replied, “You should not be fighting over a man. You’re going to end up in jail, and he’ll have a new woman.”

“Okay, first off, I wasn’t fighting over Cortez. There is no need to fight over him because he’s mine already. I hit the bitch because she was being disrespectful by pushing up on him, knowing he has a woman. Don’t act like I’m just out here on some ratchet shit, beating up every bitch that looks his way. Helen was an old friend and tried to betray me on some sneaky shit.”

“And he’s never slept with her?” My mom looked me over skeptically.

“No. No he has not. He’s never slept with any of my friends, old or new.”

“Well, he’s rich, so I’m cool with it. So if you say so, Blaise.”

“I do. Let’s change the subject.”

“You know I finally caught up on your show and—”

“Excuse me, Blaise Cansino?” Some man walked up to our table holding a manila envelope.

“Yes?” I looked up at him.

  “You’ve been served.”

Snatching the envelope from him, I tore it open, ready to see what all Helen had said and what she was trying to get. I got the shock of my life though, seeing it was from Five-Star, trying to get custody of Island. I instantly grabbed my phone to text this dummy.

Me: Are you stupid or something? You do not want to go to court with me nigga. I will put all your shit out there! And you know damn well you don’t want Island!

Jelani: Go ahead. But once they see you got my daughter calling some hot-tempered gangbanger daddy, they’ll know where to send her.

Today was just not my day. Lord, teleport me back to my baby shower.

  A day and a half later… Baby Cortez…

“Okay, he’s back,” the nurse sang as she carried my beautiful son back over to the bed. He’d just gone to have his first bath, while Cortez and I waited for his return. “Here you go.” She handed him off to me, and I kissed his cheek. He was the cutest little baby boy I’d ever seen.

“You’re so handsome, baby,” I cooed as the nurse and Cortez smiled, looking on. Cortez was seated next to my hospital bed.

“He is. And since his name is Cortez Khalil, Jr., maybe he’ll be a boxer too.” The nurse grinned as if she’d spouted an original idea. If she only knew how many people had said the same thing once they heard I was having a boy. “Well, buzz me if you need anything. I will send your mother in.”

“Thank you.” I half smiled. I couldn’t wait for Island to see him when she came in with my mom.

“What we gon’ call you, man?” Cortez took him, smiling so hard down into his face. “We got the same name but we both can’t rock that shit. Niggas named CJ usually grow up to be broke ass niggas with the skin still on their dick, so I’ll let you have Cortez since I love you and I’m already Belly.”

I giggled softly, watching him talk to our baby as if he could understand.

“You guys are cute.” I chuckled.

Belly turned to me and kissed my lips a couple times.

“I can’t believe this nigga came out of ya pussy. I know that shit hurt. Thank you, baby.”

It was new having the father be at the birth and also there right after. I didn’t see Five-Star until I brought Island home, and he had the nerve to try to fuck me. He did send me a Birkin bag the day of her birth though. I couldn’t wait to tell the judge that.

“You’re welcome. Vulgar ass. And yes, it was not a pleasant feeling at all. But he’s worth it, huh?”

I already loved him so much. And I was thankful to Belly for such a gift.

  “Most definitely.”

Just as he said that, my mom entered with Island, who rushed right over to Belly with her little mouth open. He brought her up in
to his lap, and we all laughed when she just stared at her brother. My mama looked on, smiling, and it was nice to see her happy about my new little man. I was sure her happiness would last as long as Belly’s money did.

But in the end, this was the type of stuff I lived for.

  Belly

“Breaking news. As we all know, champion boxer Mason Strauss had to have surgery to remove a portion of his skull, due to the injuries sustained during his fight against Cortez Khalil, the new lineal champion. The doctors present at the fight claimed Mason appeared to be fine once he came to after being knocked out by Khalil. However, as we reported a while back, he later fainted at his home.

Although Strauss survived his surgery, he was in a medically induced coma for months. Recently, he woke up, and was preparing to come home; however, sources have confirmed that 28-year-old Mason Strauss has died. Laurie.” The news reporter nodded sympathetically, passing the reporting baton to his co-worker.

“Thanks, Paul. I’m here live at the hospital where you can see fans of Strauss have surrounded the hospital with candles and signs…”

“Hey, don’t let that bother you.” Carson waved his hand in my face so I’d stop looking at the TV.

We were in some breakfast spot, eating. He wanted to talk to me about business shit, but seeing this news about Mason had me pissed off. I wanted to get at that nigga for having me shot, but now I had no way of doing so because in a sense, I’d already killed him.

  “I won’t.”

“We have to prepare you for the little backlash you will receive.” Carson stared at me. “His fans will call you a murderer, and they’ll be harsh, but it’s normal. He’s been the king for so long, and now he not only lost his title, but he’s dead.”

“I’m good, Carson, and I don’t give a fuck what his weak ass fans think.”

“I know. I know you’re a man’s man, but this is your first death as a boxer, hopefully your last, and I just want you to be prepared. We can’t slow up; we have to keep pushing no matter what’s going on around us.”
