“I want to see you,” Mahasti cried.
At her behest, water rose from the pool and formed a floating, shimmering sphere which flattened out into a wide oval shape. Her magic stilled the undulating texture and created a perfect, reflective surface. In the mirror, he was the sexiest vision she had ever witnessed. His hard angles and flexed muscles gleamed above her, dewed with moisture from the steamy cavern.
Mahasti had never enjoyed when a man fucked her from behind. Countless owners of the past had insisted in using her for their own sexual fulfillment, often preferring their servant to be in the submissive position. Beneath Leiv, it felt different. He claimed her not as a domineering owner, but as a man innocently following his baser instincts.
His balls slapped against her clit, a rhythmic pattern that drove her mad with lust each time he sank home. Her round ass bounced on every forward thrust, and the tip of his dick rebounded against her cervix to twine pleasure with pain. The mind-blowing combination of sensation brought her to a writhing climax. Her orgasm was a thousand stars exploding, each bold clench attempting to force his cock out of her snatch. Every time her pussy contracted, she shuddered and screamed another hoarse cry for him to continue.
Eventually, Mahasti’s legs gave out beneath her. Boneless, she sprawled upon her belly on the cool stone while Leiv continued the harsh pounding of her snatch. Each repetitious stroke set off another explosion of stimulation against her clit. With one arm around her and his fingers beneath his lover’s chin, he tilted back her head to silence her incomprehensible pleas for more with a kiss. Their tongues tangled in a passionate echo of their bodies’ actions.
Yours, she thought. I wish to be yours always. My one and only wish.
When Leiv came, he filled her with a rush of his hot seed that inspired Mahasti to grind into him in an effort to claim every precious drop. Her body quivered around his dick, still captive in the throes of orgasm long after Leiv’s heavy body settled over her in a warm drape, more comfortable than any blanket.
After the last pump, and once he finally stilled for good, Leiv rolled to his side and dragged Mahasti with him. He spooned her on the unyielding ground with his hard dick still buried deep. Soft kisses from his firm lips trailed a path down her nape and across her shoulders.
“The most beautiful,” he told her in a soft voice, renewing his sentiment from their first night together. “No matter how I longed for this again, it was our conversation I missed most, Mahasti.”
“The days were lonely without your laughter. Your smile.”
“You will not be without them again,” he promised with another kiss. “You are still trembling. Did I hurt you?”
“Far from it,” she crooned, content beyond all belief.
He taunted her with a partial backstroke. Thankfully, a cry of protest placed his thick cock back where it belonged. How he remained so hard after a wild round of sex was anyone’s guess, but she felt hollow and empty without him.
“Allow me to bathe you.”
Leiv assisted her into the water, where they quickly resumed their cozy positions. Her back fit against his chest, his cheek against her dark hair, and his half hard erection wedged perfectly between her ass cheeks. One calloused palm cupped her right breast to tease the stiff peak. At first, Leiv bathed her tenderly in the water but his gentle caresses led to drugging kisses and electrifying touches. Affectionate murmurs promised a continuation of their night in his cabin once her soak ended, and even those whispered vows eventually dwindled to complete silence.
“I lied to you,” Mahasti shattered the quiet moment. She trailed her fingers over the surface and turned her eyes up to his expectant face.
He met her with calm confusion and a creased brow. “In what regard?”
“My womb isn’t entirely barren, Leiv. I could bear a child one day, but only to the one who possesses my lamp. A baby conceived of a true wish. An honest and real hope born of love, not avarice.”
“Do you believe me to be a greedy man?” Leiv asked gently.
Mahasti dipped her chin and lowered her eyes to the water. He didn’t allow it. His strong hand curved around her shoulder and turned her body to face him in the steaming pool.
“Look at me.”
She peeked, flicking her gaze from where the water lapped against his midsection. His chiseled pectorals sported a fine covering of golden brown hair. Little droplets clung to the dark strands.
“I do not want your lamp, Mahasti.” He tucked a wet lock of her hair behind one ear and kissed her brow. She burrowed into him and wrapped her arms tight around his muscled torso. “I will happily live a mortal lifetime with you, all the better to retain your trust and love. I need no lamp.”
“But I want you. One lifetime is not enough, Leiv. I cannot — I will not know you and love you for a mortal lifetime, only to lose you to the cruel kiss of old age.” Warm water and candlelight vanished amidst a cloud of smoke, the jasmine-scented vapor dissipating to reveal the flower filled meadow. A few feet away, Leiv’s cabin appeared like a mystical mirage, a dream she had long wanted to come true. “Take me to bed.”
Liev promptly swept her into his arms and cradled her wet body close. Streaks of dusky purple and bold orange interlaced across the vibrant ruby sky, heralding the arrival of twilight. Stars shone distant from the horizon beneath the partial concealment of charcoal clouds. It wouldn’t be long before the storm rolled in.
Upon their approach, the door to the sturdy log cabin blew open to reveal its simplistic interior decor. Polished wooden floors with rich, handwoven rugs greeted her in a variety of colors.
A silky, chocolate brown rabbit skin throw decorated the back of an ordinary sofa with no frills. Contrary to her expectations of a threadbare kitchen, Mahasti saw appliances lining the granite counters atop the sturdy, oakwood cabinets. In the many years of their friendship, she had never once entered his home.
Everything held his personal touch, from the satin-smooth exposed rafters to the watercolor paintings hung on the walls. She smiled when she spotted what was clearly a bear claw in red paint on a canvas.
“Welcome to my home.”
Leiv carried her like a princess across the threshold and up the stairs. More of his paintings lined the wall of the loft. A large window filled the space with light and the open pane allowed the floral scented breeze inside. Fading sunbeams cast an orange glow over the easel beside the window. The only other object occupying the space was the bed.
Thick blankets in shades of green and brown covered the king-sized mattress. The sturdy oak frame was carved with trailing leaves and bears in the posts. Mahasti had little time to admire the artistry. Leiv laid her on the bed and made love to her again, unrushed and face to face. Afterward, he held her in his arms until their bodies cooled.
“I have something for you,” she whispered.
“Oh?”
As Mahasti sat up, her hair slid over one shoulder and draped across her breast. Leiv swept the dark mass aside to palm the plump mound. He dipped his head to take the tip captive for a playful suckle.
“You are insatiable,” she marveled. For a moment she considered waiting to present her gift but the urgency pressed her to nudge him away. “Give me a moment and I promise we can continue this.”
“What is it?”
Smoke twinkling with iridescent motes swirled over her open palm. It coalesced into solid form, leaving the aged bronze lamp in its place.
“Mahasti—”
“A mortal possessing a djinn’s lamp is granted life for as long as he holds it.”
Leiv gently closed his fingers over her wrist and the back of her hand, dwarfing her daintier digits. He didn’t take the lamp. Instead, he pushed it closer until its cool metal touched above her heart. “No, Mahasti. This lamp belongs to you. Return it to Saul’s treasure room where it belongs. Keep it safe.”
Mahasti lowered her eyes toward the dull, green-tinged surface. “That’s not possible for me.
Without an owner, I would be confined inside my lamp. Such is the way of my kind, Leiv,” she explained. “Saul vowed to transfer ownership to you.”
His breaths slowed and his hand trembled against hers. “I do not want to own you, Mahasti. That has never been my intent.”
“Think of it as keeping me safe. Who better to hold my lamp than a man who doesn’t covet it? Who better to protect me than a man who has already saved my life. You fought a vampire for me and killed his ghouls. You saved me, Leiv.” Please accept it. More than anything she wanted a life with him. A chance at real happiness with a man who would remain forever young at her side. A man she would neither lose to his own insatiable greed, nor the wickedness of mortality.
She trusted Leiv with everything she was, and all she could ever be. A djinn. A mystical creature brought to life from a flame. A creature made to serve.
Leiv lifted the brass antique with reverent hands and kissed the aged metal. A tiny flame flickered to life at its tip once he uttered his next words. “I will cherish this moment as deeply as I cherish you.”
She didn’t have a single doubt within her mind that Leiv would keep his promise.
Mahasti had granted her own wish.
