We sit there in quiet for a few minutes, both seem to be lost in our own thoughts, though I’m sure mine are a hell of a lot more masochist than hers, before she breaks the silence again.
“I lost Emma around here a bit ago. Strangely, close to the time I could no longer see Levi, either. I think my friends ability to resist my brother ceased somewhere around that pathetic limbo contest you and he instigated.”
Don’t do it. Don’t do it.
“Hey! There is nothing pathetic about the limbo. Besides, did you see how low the what’s-her-name girl from down the street could really go? That was fucking algebra coming to life right in front of you!”
Fuck you did it. Just couldn’t keep your mouth shut, could you?
Dipshit!
Her laughter filled the empty darkness around us, and my traitorous heart leapt at the sound.
Reverting to silence, I tried to lose myself again in the dancing flame, but it was so much more difficult when I could feel her eyes on me. Hell even the burnt logs collapsed, causing the fiery flames to move closer to her sending sparks up in the air as new pieces of uncharred wood became engulfed.
“Aren’t you going to talk to me?” Prue’s voice once more breaks the silence.
Trust me it is much more humane to myself if I don’t.
I sigh, and roll my eyes knowing I can’t deny her.
“What do you want to talk about?” I sound so miserable even to my own ears.
“Forget it, didn’t mean to bother you,” she breathes, and the hurt is evident in those few words.
God have mercy on me, will you please?
“Sorry Prue, my mind has just apparently reached its limit with this cheap ass beer your brother bought. Of course, I want to talk to you, why don’t you tell me what you want for your birthday.”
There. Nice easy SAFE topic.
She lets off a little snort before I watch her lean her head back against the high back of the chair and look towards the clear star filled sky.
“What I want and what I’ll get are two entirely different things,” she whines.
“Why?” I ask, this time turning my head so I’m entranced by her profile as she continues to look skyward.
A few moment go by, and I think she isn’t going to answer me, but then she turns her head and locks eyes with me and I’m reminded why I’m obsessed with this woman.
Without a stitch of makeup, just all natural, I’ve never seen another even with a percentage of her beauty. Those gorgeous, wide, honest eyes of hers seem to have an all access pass directly into my soul.
“Because if I ask for what I honestly want, I fear I’ll be laughed at and I don’t think I could handle that kind of rejection.”
“You are never going to know, unless you ask. Besides as far as I know there isn’t anyone around here that would deny you anything you really wanted.”
“I wouldn’t be so sure about that,” she whispers, breaking eye contact with me. It now seems to be her turn to get lost in the flickering flames.
I find myself close to begging a moment later.
“Come on, just tell me. If I can help, or talk someone into it for you, I will.”
Never breaking her gaze away from the fire, she says “No way. It’s too embarrassing. There would be no coming back from it once it’s out there.”
Now I really want to know what she is afraid to ask for.
“Come on, where is all that fearlessness you had when you were six? Just tell me, and I will help you.”
She once more locks gazes with me, and I find myself breathing heavier.
I would really like to be her hero if I could.
“Promise?” she murmurs.
I don’t answer verbal but rather hold her gaze and take my finger and make an “x” over my heart.
“Fine!” she says, as she puts both feet back down on the ground and sits up straight as she angles her body towards me. Our knees are now touching and I take another deep whiff of the smell of coconut. “What I really want for my birthday is...you Wren.”
My whole body goes bowstring taunt. I feel the breath whoosh out of my lungs and my prick become painfully aware in my pants.
Her gorgeous icy blue gaze holds mine and I desperately want to reach out and cup her cheek, amongst other body parts of hers.
Images of me grabbing her up and bringing her into my welcoming lap as I become first hand knowledgeable of her taste and depth of delicious looking mouth. My body continues to react to this imagery and I find myself swallowing hard all the while never dropping her gaze.
This is what I’ve been waiting for. She has said the words. She. Wants. Me!
I’m so close to reaching out to her and doing everything that I want, to hell with the consequences now that I know this isn’t one sided when an all too familiar laugh floats towards my ears as I see two people walking towards the fire pit.
One is tall with a buzz cut dark head with his arm draped over the shoulder of a smaller daintier dark haired female. As they come closer into the light, it is easy to notice the half-hazard way their clothes were put back on and the overall rumpled look of both of them.
Perfect fucking timing! There he is; the resounding reminder of why I can’t keep my promise to the birthday girl.
“Hey fuckers!” Levi greets, as he takes residence of the chair across from me on the other side of the fire pit, as he pulls a giddy Emma down onto his lap.
I watch as he unabashedly clamps onto Emma’s neck and apparently starts Act Two of his current sexual escapade.
I can no longer look at the happy couple, but I can’t look back to Prue either.
Apparently, she doesn’t need me to look at her for her to say what is on her mind anyways.
“and right there is the reason, why I should have kept my mouth shut in the first place.”
Without another word, I watch out of my peripheral vision her get up and stalk back into the house.
Damn it!
“No babe...where you going?” Levi pleas, as Emma disentangles herself from him and chases after Prue.
I roll my eyes at my friend’s utter confusion.
“What the fuck was Prue moaning about?” Levi asks, as he focusing on something on his finger.
I ignore his question knowing that nothing good will come out of me answering it. Instead I chose this to be my cue to exit before another handbag is delivered for this one way trip to Hell I’m currently on.
“Where the hell you going?”
I opt to head for the gate on the side fence rather than to cut through the house.
“Heading home,” I respond over my shoulder knowing it’s the best for everyone.
As my feet carry me further away from Prue’s surprising confession, I find myself loathing the day I met Levi Maynard.
Fuck me!
That’s right Numb Nuts! Because you sure as hell know your chance to fuck Prue just blew right up in your face.
V
It’s been three days since Prue uttered her confession to me.
It’s been seventy-two hours since I’ve thought of anything but Prue.
It’s been four thousand three hundred and twenty minutes of me kicking myself in the ass for not grabbing her in that moment and never letting go.
I should teach a class; How to be a Fucking Idiot.
I’ve failed miserable at trying to find something, anything to occupy my time, hence why I’m out in my garage at eight-thirty in the morning giving my truck a tune up that isn’t needed for another forty thousand miles.
I currently have my head under the hood replacing spark plugs when the sliding exterior door is pushed open and in walks Levi.
He doesn’t say anything for a few minutes, and I don’t either nor do I stop doing what I’m doing.
Needless to say, its awkward.
He comes towards the truck and situates himself on the other side from where I am, leaning his forearms down so he is eye level with me.
“So you going to tell me
what’s going on or are we going to pretend everything is fine like we have been for the last three days?” Levi asks.
I know my time is up on playing the strong silent type.
With a final twist, I pull myself out from under the hood, and walk around the front of the truck, past where he is standing to where my toolbox is.
Once there, I play my last card.
“Nothing is going on man, just got shit to do.”
I pray it doesn’t sound as lame to him as it does to my own ears.
Levi takes the two steps to where I am, and leans his back against the old wooden garage counter that my tool box resides on and rests his chin against his chest with his hands in his pockets.
“Did something happen at the party when I was off with Emma?”
I continue to look through the many different drawers of the automotive toolbox for the nonexistent item I’m supposedly looking for, knowing he isn’t going to let it go.
Without moving my best friend continues to question me. “Tell me what this is really about. Something went down and I want to know what it is.”
Slamming one of the sliding drawers closed with a little too much force, I step away and back over to my spot under the hood looking for something to put my hands on. When I’m there I tinker with something as I say, “It’s all good Levi.”
He follows me back to the engine, “No, I don’t think that is true.” Letting out a sigh I watch him shake his head before he adds, “I don’t know who is acting worse you or Prue. She’s been all pissy since then too.”
Great, just what I want to hear.
Knowing that there isn’t anything left to fix, I pull my head out from under the hood once more, ensure Levi is clear as well, before I drop it back in place with a deafening thud.
“Is it Emma? I mean were you planning on make a move? You never said anything...”
I don’t let him finish.
If only it was that simple.
“I have no interest in Emma; that was you Levi, all you.” I lean against the front grill looking out towards the sunny start to the day.
“Then what the fuck dude?”
“Levi I’m telling you just drop it”
“No I want to know. That’s it then? If you wanted her why didn’t you just say so. You know me, I’m more than happy to share with you. We’ve shared girls before.”
The pain radiating behind my temples feel like a grenade about to be depinned.
“For fuck sake Levi, it isn’t about Emma.”
I step back toward my truck this time I don’t even pretend to act that I’m doing something productive, instead I just lean on the hood, looking in through the windshield.
I give up, knowing I owe him more than I’m giving him, yet allowing myself the nobility of protecting his feeling. So somewhere in the concept of that bullshit, my mouth opens and this comes out, “Once I say it it can’t be unsaid.”
Isn’t that just fucking ironic? Practically Prue’s own words.
Confusion is all that my words are met with.
Maybe he will finally leave it alone.
“You seemed fine when I came back with Emma. You were there with Prue before she got up and stomped off for whatever reason.”
Just couldn’t give me this could you Levi old boy, could you?
“I mean the only other time I’ve ever seen you go radio-silent like these last three days is when you were heartbroken over Laura Grace back in junior high.”
Silence
Levi Maynard was a lot of things. Egotistical; hell yeah. Selfish; without a doubt. Slow to see the forest through the trees if it doesn’t directly affect him; sure thing.
But one thing he isn’t, is stupid.
Regardless that I’ve known this guy twelve years, the fact that I’ve seen every emotion morph across his face in the last three seconds as I have over the duration of our friendship unsettles me greatly
One
“Your.”
Two
“After.”
Three
“My sister?”
Before my ears even processed the final syllable, my forehead meets the hood of my truck with a resounding thud. My nose is now throbbing like a bitch.
I reach up to check the damage with my own hands, not too bad, I’ve had worse before.
I finally meet his eyes and say, “Told you; you didn’t want to know.”
“How long?” he growls as he stands not two feet away from me with his arms crossed over his chest and a look of pure hatred across his face.
I hold his eyes as I answer, “Longer than I care to admit, but not long enough to be disturbing.”
He apparently doesn’t find that as an acceptable answer.
“Hours? Days? Weeks?”
I replicate his stance and even though he has a couple inches on my six-foot height, I won’t back down from him.
Might as well go for broke.
“Year; give or take.”
He doesn’t say anything right away, instead just stares at me before inquiring, “You’re serious?”
His anger/bafflement does something to me, I hiss, “Well I sure as hell haven’t been in agony and denial over my feelings for this long just for a laugh Levi!”
He continued to stare at me apparently trying to read between the lines of my statement, before he deflated before my eyes and stuck out his hand to me for a shake, “Fuck it up and I’ll fuck you up, got it?”
I’m stunned into silence. If I was another person I would probably find this whole situation hysterical being the odd person looking in. However, since that is not the case, I just stare at his outstretched hand dumbfounded.
My best friend apparently deems it fit to have mercy on me. “There isn’t anyone that I trust more in this world than you. You’re not some piece of shit that screws four girls a night...”
I can’t help to interrupt, “Like you...”
He didn’t find that statement humorous at all.
Levi barks, “Do you want my blessing or not asshole?”
I respond with a broad smile, trying to tamper down the rising hope that is swelling inside of me.
“You’ll be good to her. Decent like she deserves. Besides with you around I won’t need to worry that she is going to meet a guy like me.”
I knew just like he did that this was as clear of a green light as I was going to get.
I shook his hand, plastered the smile I know longer could hide and turned on my heels with the only objection of finding Prue.
I was out the garage door when I heard, “Just keep the details to yourself; that is my sister after all.”
“Got it,” I call over my shoulder as I run over to find the girl of my dreams.
I’m through the back gate and across the lawn before I even knew it, and right there as if waiting for me on the lounge chair is Prue.
She sees me, watches me approach but doesn’t say anything.
This time I’m going to be direct regarding everything I intend. I reach her chair, easily lift both her gorgeous legs, plant my ass down where they originally were and place them across my lap.
She is startled a bit, obviously surprised by my actions, but she doesn’t say anything.
“Hey,” I say, as I run my hand over her shapely calf.
“Hey,” she drags the greeting out with a distinctly unsure sound to her voice but never breaking eye contact.
“I was wondering if I can finally give you your birthday present?”
I feel like my heart is going to explode out of my chest.
She doesn’t answer me and a small part of me thinks that she has changed her mind.
“I happen to have it on good authority, that this is something you truly wanted.”
I watch as her tantalizing lips quirk up on one side ever so slightly.
“You do, do you?”
“I do,” I can’t help the smile stretch further across my face as I pull gently on her legs so that her thighs now lay across mine ; resultin
g in her body coming even closer to mine.
That incredible aphrodisiac aroma of coconut comes off her in waves, and I feel my dick stir sorely to life.
“Okay, well then who am I to deny when a gorgeous guy wants to give me a gift.”
That was the assurance I needed. I leaned in and finally touched those tempting lips.
At first it was soft, but then I just couldn’t hold back anymore. Everything I’ve longed for and fantasized about regarding tasting her became a reality. Surrounded by the aroma of coconut, I finally knew what heaven tasted like.
With one arm wrapped around her, I pushed the small of her back to even closer contact to me. My other hand rested wrapped around the back of her neck, holding her still for my oral assault. Her tight body completely flush with my own, I can feel her raging heartbeat through her chest.
Such knowledge has never made me happier.
I continue to kiss her, easily memorizing every cavern of her mouth and feel of her tongue. I slowly move the hand, which rests on her back, over to her hip and continue to go higher. Moments later, I have one absolutely perfect tit fit into my hand like they were made for the other. This new ministration has her making a purring sound in the back of her throat and I know I’ve never heard anything sexier. The sound goes straight to my cock.
I was consumed by her.
I couldn’t be happier.
However, I wasn’t so far gone that the idea of taking her right her on the lounge where anyone could see seemed like the best plan.
Finally pulling my mouth away from her, and finding equal amounts of satisfaction that her now swollen lips chased after my retreating mouth. I smiled proudly, before placing a kiss on her cute little nose.
“I want you so fucking bad Prue, but for what I have in mind, I think privacy is in order, unless you would rather not?”
Please don’t deny me now that my dreams are coming true.
But if that is what she wanted I’ll go jackoff and then come right back to do her bidding.
My smile grew and my confidence found its feet again when she laced her arms around my neck, allowing her fingers to play with the hair at the back of my neck before she mimicked my move from moments ago and placed a kiss on the tip of my nose. “Take me where we can be alone Wren.”
Without thought, I stand up, lift her up, deposit her giggling body over my shoulder so that her ass is right next to my face. Her laughter propels me to my destination as I place a possessive hand over her ass.
