And she was. He’d been dead, inside and out, walking the moors with no hope of other. Now he lived in a vibrant way he’d never have imagined. She was his gift, his treasure, his fate.
She slipped out of his arms and he reluctantly let her go. She made her way to the open doors, then smiled over her shoulder in that adorable way he loved. She crooked a finger. “It’s time for my nap. Are you coming?”
He was right behind her.
