Britain looked at me with worry in her eyes, “He not going to fuck with y’all no more!” I told her and she nodded her head. I had a feeling she knew I did the shit but she wasn’t going to ask me about it. This conversation was dead just like that bitch ass nigga!
Britain
Six months later…
“Mama, don’t say that!” I told her.
“Say what? Fuck your grandmamma and her retarded-ass son! She has no right being mad at you for that shit! She wasn’t going to take Shia and raise her! She only taking care of Lenny retarded ass because she gets a check! That bitch is evil and I don’t like her and never will like her! She doesn’t even let you call and talk to your father! I’m sick of that bitch! I can’t stand her!” she said.
As I read the newspaper, I gasped. “Someone set Yager’s tombstone on fire?” I said.
“You fucking right I did! That bitch need to burn where ever he’s at!” my mama said.
“Mama! The other people that’s resting peacefully could’ve burned, too! I told her.
“Honey, those motherfuckers are dead! I was at the bar drinking with Harry and some friends. Then it just clicked as I was driving past his gravesite!” she said nonchalantly.
“What am I going to do with you?” I asked her.
“Buy me a big ass house with a pool like this one here. Better yet, how about you get rid of Tookie! I’m not coming over here to visit anymore! You lucky I missed my grandbaby or else I wouldn’t come here!” she fussed sipping her wine.
“Where is that loud mouth Latavia?” she said.
“I’m right here!” Latavia said strutting in with her big round belly. She was wearing some white leggings, a white long-sleeved shirt with a tan oversized cardigan sweater with gold glitter Ugg boots on her feet. Her hair had grown out and was in a fire red bun and her make-up was flawless. The diamonds in her ears and around her wrist were blinging. I knew Kenjay’s ass had something to do with all that. He spoiled that girl to death.
“Look at you looking all beautiful!” I said hugging her.
“Well, thank you! Hey, mama!” she said kissing my mama on the cheek.
“Don’t wipe it off neither, Geraldine! I haven’t put my mouth on anything this morning!” she said.
“You sure you can help me out?” I asked her. I was getting my look together for the hip-hop awards show that I was going to with O’Shea tomorrow night. It was in California and I couldn’t wait to get some sun because Maryland’s December weather wasn’t a joke.
“Yes, I am! Girl, this little boy is not stopping mama’s hustle! You know Kenjay bitched this morning about me working while seven months pregnant! I told that nigga nobody stops my grind! Hell, what O’Shea is paying me I will walk over here water broke and all!” she said making us laugh.
“That’s right, baby! Tell that mutt you about your damn money!” my mama said.
“Mutt?” I asked her.
“Yes, mutt! That damn boy mixed with everything! With his rude loud mouth fresh ass! I remember him from when he was younger! You know he had those older women fighting over him and had them banging on Tammy’s door all night,” she said.
“He has changed! He even quit hustling and now he is working on opening a few restaurants,” she said.
“We will see, Latavia, he is a very handsome boy but that lil’ nigga looks sneaky to me. Maybe it’s because he light-skinned!” my mama said and we laughed.
Shia came skipping in the kitchen with Tookie and my mama grabbed her purse.
“Where you going, Ma? You supposed to stay here with Shia until me and her father get back from California. You know we are going to be gone for a week,” I said to her. Usually we would take Shia if it was only for a few days but we didn’t want her missing school.
“I have been sober for years now! That bird makes me want to get high! That bitch is evil!” she said.
“Crack-head!” Tookie squealed.
“Tookie!” Latavia said.
“See what I’m talking about! I’m ready to go into the basement and smoke me a cigarette and have me a drink!” she said.
“I might have to get rid of Tookie!” I said with tears in my eyes.
“No, mama!” Shia said. Latavia shook her head because she hated Tookie also.
“I will help her say nice things!” she said. Now, I felt bad for saying that because she loved her some Tookie. Tookie made kissing noises and Shia pecked her beak just how I started doing when I was a little girl. Who am I fooling? Tookie is a part of our family and they just had to ignore her. O’Shea wore earplugs around Tookie now.
“Okay, Shia! But we have to take her somewhere that trains parrots to behave,” I told her and she smiled.
“Ma, can Savory come over?” she asked me. Savory was a little white girl she became friends with in school.
“Yes,” I told her and she ran to call her.
“Okay, Latavia, here are the layouts of what I want to look like. It’s a hip-hop awards so I don’t want to be dressed like I’m going to an evening ball,” I told her.
“Girl, this is what I do! I got you, boo!” she said.
“I want the cute chic look! You know, something simple but I want my hair and make-up to be like BAM!” I told her.
Next day…
O’Shea and I pulled up in a black Lamborghini and the cameras flashed. I added extension to my hair with this wild look similar to how Teyana Taylor wears her hair. I had on high waisted ripped bleached jeans with a purple thin silk fitted jacket with gold trim. On my feet was a pair of purple and gold Saint Laurent platform heels. The deep purple glitter lipstick set it off. My face was beat thanks to Latavia.
O’Shea was dressed simple in a pair of dark Balmain destroyed jeans and a black t-shirt with a pair of black Louis Vuitton sneakers on his feet with the matching belt. His Tom Ford shades were over his eyes and his waves were spinning with his fresh line-up. His only jewelry was his black diamond chain necklace and his platinum diamond-face Rolex.
We posed and he grabbed me around the waist pulling me closer to him, his hand slightly on my ass. The cameras flashed like crazy. I smiled posing for them. Who would’ve thought the hottest rapper in the industry would have a plus-sized model on his arm?
“Well, isn’t is everyone’s favorite couple?” Rissa said switching towards us. She put me in mind of Nikki Baby from “Love and Hip Hollywood.”
“Yes, in the flesh!” I said.
“Well, you look ravishing in purple. But I thought big girls shouldn’t wear purple because of Barney,” she said.
I laughed because these bitches would never learn I didn’t care about my size. Hell, I loved my curves and so did my man!
“Rissa, seriously, is that the best you can do? Bitch, Barney is more relevant than you! You still out of a job? What you came here for? Trying to fuck someone to get back on? You mad because you are unemployed? Or is it the fact that the only reason they are taking your pictures is because you are standing here talking to me?” I asked laughing as they took a picture of her facial expression.
“I’m everywhere because I’m relevant! It’s a new sized woman out here killing the magazines! They love my ass! They can’t get enough of me! So, back the hell out of my face! I holla at you when I’m done making myself more relevant!” I told her posing as O’Shea smiled on the side showing his platinum grills.
She stomped off. Jordan tried barging in but security tossed her back as she screamed and tried to make her way past the red ropes. I shook my head as O’Shea grabbed my hand walking into the building.
I sat in my chair next to O’Shea as 2 Chainz, Rick Ross, Yo Gotti and a few other rappers performed. They were announcing the different nominees for rapper of the year. They called O’Shea’s name for him to accept his award. I hoped he gets his speech together because he had been sipping Henny the whole time.
He stood up grabbing my hand wanting me to go up there with him. I was nervous now! His black ass was going to get cursed out when
this was over! We walked up the steps and onto the stage.
“I just want to take the time to thank God for all of this happening. I know Jamille is smiling down on me so I’m accepting this award for her. I also want to thank him for bringing my beautiful woman and daughter back into my life,” he looked at me squeezing my hand.
“I love you, shorty! I started loving you as a lil’ nigga when I first kissed you. I always told myself back then that when I made it big, I was taking you with me. This shit don’t mean nothing to me anymore without you and my daughter. Oh, yeah, and the little one you got growing in the oven now!” he said telling every damn body I was pregnant! Big mouth fucker!
Quan comes out of nowhere with a small box. I was shaking and the cameras were zooming in on us and everyone was looking at me.
“Britain, are you going to marry a nigga and make this official?” he asked me.
Tears were falling out of my eyes. This shit was going to be all over the place and I was nervous as hell.
“Yes, O’Shea, I will marry you!” I said and everyone started clapping and a few even wiped their eyes. He slid a rock on my finger that was so cold it almost made my hand freeze.
The beat dropped and they brought O’Shea the mic and he started performing his rap song “Shorty” that he dedicated to me.
I had my daughter back, my mama was clean, O’Shea and I were getting married and I was eight weeks pregnant. I now had a deal with CoverGirl and my career with Malore was really taking off. I would be in Paris next month for fashion week. A plus-size girl from the ghetto living in a crack-infested neighborhood with a crack-head mama proved to the world that there was enough room for her! Never let anyone tell you something is impossible because of your looks or size. You are beautiful the way you are! So, strut your shit like you mean it and don’t let evil bitches steal your shine.
I stood there looking at my fine ass man do his thing and I couldn’t wait to see what our journey had in store for us.
Kenjay
I was on my way home from meeting with my connect to re-up. Latavia thought a nigga quit but truth is I didn’t quit! I’m addicted to this shit! I got that stupid bitch Janae good! My fingerprints were never on the gun because I had a fake layer of skin on my hands from the costume store Beans put me on with. Janae crazy ass ended up in a mental institution.
I was opening up a few restaurants to throw Latavia off because she kept questioning my ass about shit. My son would be here in five weeks and a nigga couldn’t wait. At first, I didn’t want any kids but now I was more excited than she was.
I stopped to grab her and my mother some Chinese food since Latavia was over her crib. They been tight as hell lately but I wasn’t complaining. I loved the bond she had with ma dukes. When I got to my mother’s house, the lights were off but Latavia’s Audi was in the driveway and so was my mother’s Lexus.
I used my key but the door was already unlocked. I turned the light on and it was quiet.
I called their names but they didn’t answer. I pulled my gun out of my pants because some shit was off. I walked into the kitchen turning the light on and got the shock of my life.
My mother was lying on the floor with half her brain hanging out and Latavia was lying by the kitchen table bleeding out. Tears fell from my eyes. Blood was everywhere!
“Kenjay,” Latavia whispered weakly and I ran to her, cradling her.
“Hold on, baby! Hold on!” tears fell from her eyes and mine. I could feel her life slipping away from her. I got my cell phone out and something caught my eye on the wall.
“Carla was here!” was smeared across the wall in blood.
