A Distant Melody Page 35

by Sarah Sundin

I also thank the staff at the Antioch Public Library and Charles Vercelli of the Western Railway Museum for help with obscure research questions. And my story would have been flat without the opportunity to walk through the restored B-17s of the Collings Foundation and the Experimental Aircraft Association.

Last but definitely not least, I thank my editor, Vicki Crumpton at Revell, and my agent, Rachel Zurakowski at Books & Such Literary Agency, for taking a chance on an unknown writer. Thanks for showing me much mercy and grace.

Thanks to you, dear reader, for taking a chance on a new author as well. I hope you enjoyed getting to know Walt and Allie as much as I did. Please visit my website at www.sarahsundin.com to see a diagram of a B-17, or to drop me an email. I’d love to hear from you.

Sarah Sundin is an on-call hospital pharmacist and lives in northern California with her husband and three children. Her great-uncle flew with the U.S. Eighth Air Force in England. Sarah holds a BS in chemistry from UCLA and a doctorate in pharmacy from UC San Francisco. This is her first novel.
