Haley & Bentley (Falling for Bentley #2.5) Page 5

by Shawnte Borris

Whitney walked by and taunted him, “Suck it up, princess, it’s gonna be your turn again soon enough.”

“Well, I’m hungry, and I want a damn drink.” He kept grumbling while Netty positioned us.

“Last one, on the count of three smile. One…two…and three, there you go guys. Pictures are done.”

“Thank God,” Travis uttered as he grabbed Whitney’s hand. Bentley and I laughed as he pulled Whitney along to the outdoor tent where the reception was taking place.

Once everyone was gone, my husband pulled me into his arms, “Have I told you how absolutely stunning you look today?”

I grabbed his vest. “You don’t look too bad yourself, Mr. Knight.”

“I can’t wait to get you on our honeymoon, Mrs. Knight.”

“I still can’t believe my dad paid for our whole honeymoon behind our backs, and upgraded everything.”

“He didn’t exactly do it behind our backs; he asked me first.”

“Why didn’t he come and ask me?”

Bentley lifted an are-you-serious eyebrow. I laughed, already knowing the answer. “I love you,” I told him instead. I stood on my tippy toes, locked my arms behind his neck, and kissed him. Suddenly, we were blinded by the flash of a camera. “Last one, promise,” Netty said, putting her camera away.

“Thanks, Netty, for being here today,” Bentley said shaking her hand.

“You’re very welcome. I should have these all edited by the time you guys get back from Canada.”

“I can’t wait to see them,” I said excitedly.

“I got in some pretty awesome shots in today; I can’t wait to see them myself.” Picking up her camera bag she said, “I’ll give you guys a few minutes to yourself; I’ll meet you in the tent.”

“Thanks again, Netty,” Bentley said again, walking me behind the red shed we painted a few summers ago.

He pushed me against it and started kissing my neck, “I’m so happy we are married, Hales.”

I wrapped my legs around his waist. “Me too.” He moved his hands under my dress and grabbed my ass.

  “You’re not wearing any panties.”

“Nope,” I replied, grinding myself into him as I kissed his neck.

  “You’re wet.”

  “And you’re hard.”

Bentley pulled one arm away and checked his watch, “How much time do you think we have?”

“Five minutes, maybe six.” I answered knowing exactly what his thoughts were.

“I can come in three,” he stated.

  “Oh God, me too.”

I leaned back and braced my back against the shed while I slipped my hands to undo his button and zipper. As soon as they were open, his cock sprang free.

“Hey, you aren’t wearing any underwear, either.”

“I guess we both had the same idea,” he breathed into my hair as he plunged inside me.

  “Bentley…that feels so good.”

“I want to go faster…and deeper.”

“Then do it,” I cried out.

“Sweetheart, I can’t, I don’t want your back all scratched up, or red paint rubbing onto your dress.”

“Take me to the ground, and I’ll ride you.”

  Bentley laughed out loud.

“I’m so horny. I can’t believe how much hornier this pregnancy is making me already.”

Bentley almost dropped me, “What did you say?”

I looked at him, wondering what in the world he was talking about.

“You just said, ‘I can’t believe how much hornier this pregnancy is making me already.’”

“I did?” I thought I said that in my head.

  “Hales, are we pregnant again?”

“I wanted to tell you while we were on our honeymoon.”

“This is way better,” he replied with a cocky grin.

  “Why?”

“Because I’m balls deep inside you, and knowing we’re pregnant again makes today even fucking better than it already was.”

Slowly putting me back on my feet, we fixed our attire and held hands as we made our way to the tent to join all the others.

“What song were you playing when I was walking down the aisle? I never heard you play it before.”

“She’s Got This Thing About Her by Chris Young. Why?”

“It was perfect,” I said simply

“Just like you.” He kissed my head before we walked into the tent.

“PUT YOUR HANDS together, and help me welcome for the first time, Mr. and Mrs. Bentley Knight!” Mike roared into the microphone. I think he was having more fun than he let on.

Everyone was on their feet and cheering when we walked in. Bentley walked us to the middle of the dance floor as Dolly Parton’s I Will Always Love You started.

Bentley rested one hand on my hip and gathered my hand into his other. I rested my head on his chest as we danced. I’m not sure if it was the moment, or everything just becoming real, but I started whimpering, “I love you, I love you so much.”

Taking my face in his hands, he leaned in and kissed me before twirling me out and back in again. We held each other close until the song ended.

I was passed into my father’s arms as Tim McGraw’s My Little Girl started playing. I did nothing but cry into his chest. I let every single sad thing from my childhood flow out so I could let in everything single moment of today. “But to me you’ll always be my little girl,” Daddy sang in my ear. Half way through, Dad passed me to Papa to finish out the song.

After the cake was cut, Carleigh decided it was time to start the speeches. She passed Bentley and I each a wine glass. Bentley looked at my glass then looked at me and I mouthed, “It’s okay.”

“As the maid of honor, I’m supposed to tell you all the things Haley and I have ever done, and how wonderful she is, but in our little twosome, we never kiss and tell.” Carleigh winked at the crowd and everyone laughed. “So instead, I’m going to sit Bentley down and tell him how to keep my girl happy.”

Carleigh took a chair and positioned it in front of her and pointed Bentley into it with her finger. She continued once he sat, “I have punched you once, and I won’t be afraid to do it again if need be.”

She shot her eyebrow up, meaning business, and Bentley replied, “Another warning, got it.”

“Good,” she smiled. I couldn’t help laughing at the memory, and the shock of it all when she hit him. “Haley likes breakfast in bed after a hangover with a half a cup of coffee and a full glass of orange juice. She likes to hear that you always love her. She likes it when you randomly snuggle her from behind.

“Always be romantic with her, as she will hold your heart with everything she has. Don’t miss an opportunity to tell her you love her. Take her on dates, spoon with her at night, and kiss her neck.

“Close your eyes and remember all the small details about her, and listen to her. Support her and always stand up for her, even if you disagree with her because she will always talk it out when it’s just the two of you.”

Carleigh paused to wipe a few tears away, “Always be kind, and have chocolate on hand when she has her period, and never let her down. And Bentley—never, ever break her heart.”

Bentley didn’t even give her time to finish before he gathered her up and hugged her fiercely. “I know you love her, Carleigh, and I know you are struggling with letting her go, but I promise you, I will always love her, and will never let her down.”

“I know, Bentley, or I wouldn’t have let you marry her.”

I don’t think there was a dry eye in the room.

“As the groom’s brother, I thought it would be best if I gave this speech,” Travis began as Carleigh returned to her seat and Bentley came to stand beside me. “Bentley has been my best friend for as long as I can remember. He taught me the most important lessons in life, like to how to make mud pies that actually stuck to the side of the barn, how to catch calves, and how to catch and throw a football.

“He taught me when to keep
my cool, and how to work hard. He’s has always been ready to listen and give advice, even when it wasn’t what I wanted to hear. He taught me how to drive in the mud, and showed me how to shotgun a beer. He taught me the importance of an education, and how important family is.

“I was by his side as he became a high school football champion, and a great college player. I was also there when he became a man, and put his life on hold to come back to the farm when we needed his help the most.

“We might have not known then, but we sure know now, what God’s plan was for him. The day Haley walked into our lives, we knew everything changed.

“She brought out things in Bentley he didn’t even know he had in him. She was his strength when he needed it most and made him lick his wounds when he needed that, too. In a way, you could say she brought our family back together, too.

“Right from the beginning, I knew Haley was the love of his life. From the way he watched her, protected her, and talked about her. I couldn’t have picked a better person for you to fall in love with, Bentley. Please raises your glasses for my brother, and to his new wife, Haley.”

As everyone lifted their glasses I walked over to Travis and hugged him. “Thank you. Thank you so much for being there for me when I needed someone in my corner the most. Thank you for me being my confidant when you could have easily ratted me out. Thank you for being my brother long before today.”

Travis kissed my cheek before bringing me out to the dance floor. By the third song, I was parched and needed a drink in the worst way.

  “Travis, I need a drink,” I puffed.

“Good, I’m tired of you stealing my man,” Whitney teased as she walked into Travis’s arms.

“You take him,” I said, shooing my arms at him. “He’s too young for me anyways.”

We danced and talked with everyone longer than I thought. When I went to go inside to check on Emerson, the sun was starting to go down.

“Take a walk with me?” Bentley asked, wrapping his arms around me.

“I was just going to check on our son,” I replied, smiling up at him.

“I asked Mom to do it when I saw you walking this way.”

I took his hand, and he led me to the gator in the shop.

  “Where are we going?”

He helped me into the gator, “To the pond.”

  “Why?”

“You’ll see.” He kissed me before walking to his side and getting in.

THE MOMENT WE pulled up I gasped as I saw the dock lined with mason jars lit with candles. I looked at Bentley, and he just smiled as he got out and walked over to my side.

  “How?” I asked getting out.

“I was told to always be romantic, so this is me being romantic.”

“Who?” I asked walking onto the dock.

  “Carleigh.”

Laid out on the dock was a plaid blanket with two champagne flutes and a chilled bottle of apple cider along with a few strawberries.

I took the bottle and gave Bentley a questioning look.

“So I might have told her,” he blushed, sitting down on the blanket.

I laughed as I sat between his legs and watched the sunset.

“Today was perfect,” I said into the night air.

“It was. Are you ready to spend the rest of your life with me?”

I leaned my head back to look at him. “I wouldn’t have it any other way.”

  “I love you, Haley.”

  “And I love you, Bentley.”

AS YOU ALL know Falling for Bentley was for my dear friend and assistant Lacy Almon. These characters are based around the people she loves the most and keeps close to her heart. Without her I don’t know where I’d be or even if I’d have a career in the indie author world.

Because of each reader, fan and blogger you helped make it the success that it is, and for that I thank you all every day.

Robin from Wicked by Design did another amazing job with the cover and she had to work harder at this one, as I did not use the models from books one and two.

Rae and Julie thank you again for putting the finishing touches on the series and I hope to work with you both again in Travis’s book.

Beta readers once again you guys make me laugh with your comments and always wanting more.

My dear sweet children and husband, you guys are the best cheer team that I can ask for Thank you for loving me like you do and remember I will always love you most. XO
