Any self-control and reason Blake still had snapped. Fuck it.

His hands curled into fists and before Ben could react, Blake stepped back, pulled his fist back, and let it fly. His knuckles collided with his brother’s nose. He felt the cartilage crack as his head snapped back. It was grotesquely satisfying.

There was something very important Blake had learned about his own kind and alcohol. Intoxication tended to bring the animal closer to the surface. Animal instincts tended to suppress human reason the drunker a shifter became. Because of this, drunk werewolves tended to be more prone to doing typical drunk things than humans. They were, of course, more inclined to find someone, anyone, to have sex with. But more than that, they would find any reason to get out aggression. And therefore fights were more likely to happen.

  Tonight was no exception.

There was one brief moment of still silence before all hell broke loose.

Ben fell back into the bar, one hand holding himself up while the other covered his nose. He pulled his hand back, looking down at the blood that coated his palm. Then his eyes focused on Blake with single-minded fury. The entire bar seemed to hold their breath as time stood still. Then, with an angry shout, Ben launched himself at Blake. They went down in a flurry of fists and claws and teeth.

Some of Ben’s buddies tried to get involved, trying to grab ahold of Blake to give Ben the advantage. But as soon as they tried to get involved, Blake’s sympathizers leaped into action, holding them off. Blake was too focused on holding off his brother that he didn’t know what else happened. All he knew was that when he finally managed to push Ben off of him and looked around, the entire side of the bar had broken out into brawls. There didn’t seem to be anyone who wasn’t participating in some kind of small scrap. The curtain to Alex’s side had been thrown open, and several omegas stood in shock and horror, watching the alpha’s fight. Several of the alphas who had been on Alex’s side came running to this side of the bar, grins on their faces as they joined in the brawl. They didn’t know or care what the initial fight had been about. All that mattered was there was a brawl.

Ben came at him again. Blake had never been one for fighting, but that didn’t mean he didn’t know how. He had insisted on learning how to defend himself. He thought it would be important on his missions. He hadn’t imagined he’d one day use that knowledge against his own brother. He grabbed Ben’s shoulders and his shirt, spinning and using his momentum to throw him into a table. He slid across it and knocked it over, falling into another couple that was fighting. He caught a wayward fist to the jaw, and his attention and rage instantly shifted to the new assailant.

Now that his brother was distracted, Blake took the opportunity to slip away. He looked for Dylan, dodging through the small groups and pairs of werewolves fighting. Several tried to throw punches at him as he passed, but he dodged and redirected and slipped away. He did his best to maneuver around them, not getting involved in any of the fights. Meanwhile, his eyes scanned the bar for Dylan.

Dylan found him first. He felt someone grab his arm, and he nearly spun around to throw them off, stopping only when he realized it was Dylan. He reached out, taking Dylan’s face in his hands. “Are you alright?” He asked, looking him over. He didn’t look injured, but his face was flushed, and his eyes were bright. It was obvious he had been fighting. And he was probably more equipped and trained for it than any alpha here. He may not be injured, but Blake was willing to bet his opponents were.

“Come with me,” Dylan said, ignoring his question. He stepped out of Blake’s grip, grabbed his wrist, and pulled him across the room. They maneuvered through the crowd, mostly sticking to the outskirts of the room. They sidestepped bodies and moved around fights. Finally, they reached the hallway that led back to the bathrooms and slipped inside. The hallway was a strange and eerie place of stillness, where the sounds and shouts of the brawling alphas could still be witnessed. Dylan didn’t stop there though. He dragged Blake back through the kitchen doors. The kitchen itself was empty. Most of the employees were at the front, watching the fights. Dylan dragged him through the kitchen and out the back doors.

The night air was cool and refreshing. Blake inhaled deeply, letting it clear his head. A lot of the burst of rage he had felt had already faded. He felt more in control of himself and very satisfied with how Ben’s bachelor party had turned into an all-out drunken brawl. “What’re we doing out here?” He asked, looking at Dylan. He still held his wrist, but his back was to him. He was looking around the parking lot. There wasn’t a soul in sight. “Not that I mind a chance to be alone with you.”

Without saying a word, Dylan started walking again, dragging Blake around the corner of the building. They ended up in an alley, well secluded from the outside world. Dylan then suddenly turned on him and pushed him against the wall. The brick wall bit into his back, clinging to his shirt. Dylan had his forearm pushed across Blake’s chest and shoulders, leaning forward to use his weight to pin Blake against the wall. He glared up at Blake. “You didn’t need to do that.”

Blake blinked at him. “He insulted you.” He said simply. That was reason enough for him to attack his brother. He could stand insults to himself, but he wouldn’t tolerate such blatant disrespect for his mate. Or his boyfriend, as the case might be. Though he still considered Dylan to be his mate.

“I don’t need you to fight my battles.”

“I know.” He couldn’t help the grin that spread his lips. “But damn did it feel good.”

Dylan’s frown faltered as a smile slowly curved his lips. “I know the feeling.” They both stared at each other for a couple of heartbeats, and then they both burst out into laughter. Dylan leaned forward, putting his forehead on his arm across Blake’s chest. Blake put his hands on Dylan’s hips, leaning his head back against the wall. “I can’t believe you actually hit him,” Dylan said when his laughter died down. He leaned back, looking up at Blake. He was smirking. “I thought for sure that you’d try talking to him. Tell him off or something.”

Blake shrugged, grinning down at him. “I thought about it, but then I realized it didn’t matter what I said, he wouldn’t listen. So I did the only thing I knew would get through to him.”

  “A broken nose?”

  Blake shrugged. “He deserved it.”

“He did.” Dylan’s eyes searched his face, his smile fading a bit. “What did he say to you before you punched him?”

Blake’s smile fell, and he frowned. “Just more of the same nonsense.”

  “Insults about me?”

  Blake nodded, lips pressed together.

“I don’t need you to fight my battles,” Dylan repeated, voice serious.

“I know.” Blake wrapped his arms loosely around Dylan’s waist, pulling him close. “But that doesn’t mean I don’t want to, and it definitely doesn’t mean I won’t. You’ll just have to learn to deal with it.”

Dylan searched his eyes for a moment, his frown still in place. Then he reached up and took Blake’s face in his hands, pulling him down into a sweet but firm kiss. He pressed himself against Blake, rolling his hips forward. Blake was a little surprised but pleased to find that Dylan was already hardening. He could feel him pressed against his thigh. He was already half erect himself. The adrenaline high and excitement from werewolf fights tended to do that.

“Thank you,” Dylan cooed, his lips moving against Blake’s. He leaned back a little, and he was looking down. Blake was struck by how adorable Dylan was when he was shy. His bold and brave soldier rarely looked shy and vulnerable. His lips scrunched up into a small frown. “Do you … think I’m … brutish?” He asked softly, almost like he feared the answer.

Blake stared at him for a moment, then laughed. Dylan immediately glared up at him. “I’m sorry!” Blake said, trying to get his laughter under control. He cleared his throat, trying to sound serious, but his grin was still wide and toothy. “You can’t take anything Ben said seriously. He obviously still finds you attractive, or
he wouldn’t have tried to seduce you. He’s just angry and jealous. You,” He ran his hands down to Dylan’s ass, cupping it and pulling him tight against him. He pushed his thigh between Dylan’s legs. He leaned forward, hovering his lips above Dylan’s. “Are the sexiest man I’ve ever laid eyes on.”

He kissed him, long and deep, until Dylan melted against him, tilted his head back, opened his mouth, and moaned low in his throat. He kissed him thoroughly and eagerly until Dylan was starting to rub himself against Blake in need. Dylan broke their kiss, leaning back. He had both hands on Blake’s chest, and he was panting lightly. When Dylan looked up at him, Blake was startled by the desire and passion he saw in those hazel eyes. He froze, fingers curling into Dylan’s back. His heart thudded in his chest. That half-lidded look was one that always got him. Blake had imagined it for so long, and now, seeing it actually aimed at him, struck him through the heart and left him breathless.

Dylan leaned forward, going up on his toes to nibble on Blake’s bottom lip. He moved downward, trailing kissing down Blake’s neck. He bit and sucked at Blake’s collarbone as his hands trailed further down, tugging at the button of his jeans with obvious impatience. He unbuttoned and unzipped his pants, reaching inside with one hand to firmly wrap his fingers around Blake’s member. He gasped, his head tilting back. Dylan sunk his teeth into Blake’s neck. His other hand went under Blake’s shirt, sliding up his chest, then digging his nails in and dragging his hand down.

Blake’s breath caught in his throat as Dylan slowly sank to his knees in front of him, dragging his body down Blake’s and trailing kisses down his chest and stomach as he went. On his knees, Dylan’s hands worked on pulling Blake’s erection out of his pants while his mouth focused on trailing kisses around his navel. His lips and tongue moved from one hip bone to the other, moving in slow, lazy circles. Dylan glanced up at Blake with his eyes half-lidded and dark with desire. Blake had to remind himself how to breathe.

When he was certain he had Blake’s undivided attention, he kissed the tip of his dick before slowly taking it into his mouth. He held eye contact the whole time. Blake licked his lips. His legs were shaking, and he had to lean heavily against the wall to remain standing. His hands roamed Dylan’s head and shoulders, running through his hair and gripping his neck.

As much as he wanted to toss his head back and close his eyes, he kept his head down and his gaze trained on Dylan. He’d spent a large part of his life imagining moments like this. Sometimes he still found it hard to believe this could actually happen. When he was younger, it was just a distant fantasy that one day Dylan, the handsome older omega, would be sucking his dick. He wanted to enjoy every second of the moment, and he did so by giving Dylan his undivided attention.

He could also tell that Dylan was feeding off the attention. He occasionally glanced up, making sure Blake was still watching before closing his eyes and continuing to service him. He made a show of it, and Blake had a front row seat. He took in as much as he could, which wasn’t the whole thing but definitely more than Blake had anticipated. He bobbed his head, twisting it and running his tongue along his length. He moaned in his throat and Blake shivered as he felt it vibrate through him. His hand worked the rest that he couldn’t reach, and his other hand was placed firmly on Blake’s hip, holding him down. He had started to trust forward, eagerly trying to get deeper, but Dylan held him back. He was determined to run the show, and Blake was perfectly okay with that. He would occasionally thrust a little more insistently, just so Dylan would hold him down and growl in his throat in warning.

It didn’t take Blake long to realize that Dylan was teasing him. He kept building him up, getting him to the point of near orgasm, then slowing or stopping altogether. The fourth time he did it, Blake growled, thrusting his hips against Dylan’s hand. Dylan glanced up at him then, a sly smirk on his lips. He knew exactly what he was doing, and he was being a frustrating little shit.

And Blake loved every second of it.

When Blake showed signs of impatience and frustration, Dylan changed his tactic. He used his free hand to shove Blake’s hips hard against the wall. He caught his gaze and held it unflinchingly. The warning was clear. He wasn’t supposed to move. He then moved his hand away and to the front of his own jeans, fumbling with the button. He shifted his position and tugged down his jeans a ways. Then, while his mouth and tongue continued to tease Blake, keeping him on the edge but not letting him come, his hand moved behind him and dipped into his pants. He proceeded to finger himself, and Blake watched with eyes wide with desire. It took every ounce of his self-control to stay still and let Dylan do what he wanted.

As he slipped more fingers into himself, his mouth started to go slack. He was breathing heavily and moaning around Blake’s dick, nearly forgetting to do anything with it at all. Blake didn’t mind. He was enjoying the show. It didn’t take long for Dylan to give up altogether. His hand remained wrapped around Blake’s thick knot, and he leaned his forehead against Blake’s stomach, panting and groaning as he worked himself.

Then he moaned Blake’s name, and Blake snapped.

Grabbing him by the shoulders, Blake half lifted and half urged Dylan to his feet. He came willingly, his hand coming out of his pants and his other one letting go of Blake. Blake pressed his lips to Dylan’s in a crushing kiss, shoving his tongue deep into his mouth. Then he pulled away and switched their positions, pushing Dylan’s chest against the wall. He went willingly, putting his hands against the wall to brace himself and spreading his legs as Blake pushed his pants down to his knees. He tugged down his own pants, freeing his throbbing erection. He pushed against Dylan, and Dylan pushed back against him.

They both groaned as Blake entered him. Dylan was tight and warm and wet and eager. Blake was too close to the edge to take things slowly. He fucked Dylan hard and fast against the wall, hands on his hips to help with leverage as he pounded into him. Dylan panted against the wall, moaning and shouting his name. Blake grunted, encouraged to go faster by Dylan’s desperate pleas.

He bit the curve of Dylan’s neck as he came, sinking his teeth into the soft flesh. He thrust hard into Dylan, and the omega climaxed, clenching around him and driving his own orgasm onward. They rode it out together, breathing heavily and grunting as each wave washed over them. He released Dylan’s neck, nuzzling the bruised spot as he leaned into him, using the wall to hold them both up. His arms were wrapped around him, his hands overlapping on Dylan’s stomach.

“Mine,” He whispered, kissing Dylan’s abused flesh. “I love you.” He breathed before he could stop himself. He had a moment of fear when he worried the strong statement might scare Dylan. He had, after all, shown that he was made a little panicky by commitment. But at that moment, Blake didn’t care. He knew how he felt, and he wanted Dylan to know. Even if he said nothing in response, it didn’t matter. It didn’t change how Blake felt. He kissed his neck again before burying his face there. “I love you.” He repeated, holding Dylan tight.

He might have been imagining it in his half drunken, post orgasm haze, but he could have sworn he heard Dylan whimper as he felt his body shutter.

  Chapter Eight

Despite the bar brawl that had broken out during the bachelor party, the rest of the wedding plans continued as planned. Alex was upset that Ben had let his side of the party get out of hand, but no one else was disappointed. After the fact, everyone seemed to find the whole thing to be hilarious, and they remembered it with the fondness of a good time. They sported and showed off their bruises and cuts and injuries with pride. An all-out alpha brawl was exactly what several of them needed. And after it was explained to Alex that it was just something alphas did to relieve stress, he seemed to forgive Ben.

Ben was a little bitter about his broken nose and black eye for the wedding, but Alex babied him enough that he soon began to milk it for all it was worth. Dylan curled his lip in disgust but kept his mouth shut. It was none of his business. Overall, he avoided Ben’s side of the wedding prepa
rations and focused solely on his own family. Blake didn’t get that luxury, but he said that after that night, his brother seemed to back down from the whole subject, and it wasn’t brought up again.

The days leading up to the wedding were hectic. There were wedding showers, and formal dinners, and the rehearsal dinner. Not to mention juggling family, getting fitted for suits, dress shopping, and dealing with all the small details that always went wrong: the flowers were wrong, the cake was delayed, the caterer heard fish instead of chicken, and there wouldn’t be enough ice. Aunt Margery ruled over the preparations with an iron fist. Despite not living in the same house as her, she dictated the family near constantly, and everyone had chores to do. Even Blake’s side of the family was being controlled by Aunt Margery’s directions.

In the middle of all of it, there was a full moon run. The only time Dylan had run with a bigger group was during his stay at the Shadow Pack. His home pack may not have that kind of numbers, but they were still formidable in size. They went out to the woods to change, and all several hundred of them flooded the woods, running far from town and howling. Dylan idly wondered what the humans across town thought of the monthly howls. He certainly felt bad for anyone wandering the woods when several hundred wolves suddenly went sprinting past. No one would believe them.

Dylan ran with Blake, and he was glad when Ben stayed far away from them and ran with Alex. Dylan ran Blake hard, eager to keep up at the head of the pack. Blake kept pace with him, though he lagged behind for a little bit before Dylan slowed his pace to match. Then toward the end of the run, Blake started herding Dylan off to the side. This time, he recognized it for what it was, but he didn’t mind. He eagerly followed the direction. The pack was already dispersing as couples wandered off. When they were well away from the pack, they make love in wolf form and fell asleep among the trees. They awoke at dawn the next day, naked and human, and made love again before heading back home.
