Fury of the Gods (Areios Brothers Book 3) Page 23

by Amy Braun

Have faith! They’re not out of the fight just yet!

What can we expect from the next book?

Action, drama, twists, monsters, surprise guests, and intensity in both the Underworld and mortal realm.

What made this book different from the rest?

Of all the books I’ve wanted to write, this one was at the top. Even in the Areios Brothers series, one of my dream projects, this sat on a pedestal because I knew what the ending would bring and how it would change both the characters and the series. But the longer I wrote it, the more I realized that things weren’t working as smoothly as I hoped.

It became a challenge, and by the time I’d done the second revisions and sent them to my editor, I couldn’t have been happier to have Fury out of my hands. The book I wanted the most from turned out to be my biggest struggle.

Despite all that, I persevered. I worked through the issues, spoke with friends and colleagues, and fought to give this new story it’s due.

Fury of the Gods didn’t turn out exactly how I planned. But I did learn from it, and I am grateful for all it has taught me.

So where will the series go from here?

At time of writing this, there will be two more books in the main plot. I may put together some short stories in an omnibus, but it depends on my schedule and the other projects I’m working on. Still, I love all the characters and Néo Vasíleio, so I would be open to doing additional short stories or a spinoff perhaps in the distant future!

Any idea what those stories would involve?

I’m not sure! Selena had a short story in Hunt of the Gods, and she has always been one of my favorites. Thea has her dark past and uncertain future as a new goddess, and I find Corey and Mason to be the sweetest couple. It’s hard to say, but Greek mythology and its creatures have always had a powerful fascination for me, so I would love to keep pitting these powerful heroes against even stronger monsters.

In that case, what else are you working on?

I’m currently planning on another young adult novel, but unlike Crimson Sky, this story will be a dark fantasy with even darker magic. It will be unlike anything I’ve ever written before, and I am excited to see where it ends up.

What if we have more questions or need to talk about that ending? Where can we reach you?

Yay! I love spoiler talk! I’m always happy to get emails. You can reach me via [email protected], and I’m fairly active on social media, especially Instagram (@amybraunauthor). I do get fairly busy at times, but I will happily answer any and all questions you have as soon as I can!

Thanks for answering all these questions! Hopefully the next book won’t be so emotionally devastating.

  I make no promises.

  Acknowledgments

THIS BOOK WAS a challenge, when I didn’t think it would be. Despite being a story locked in my head for years, it was all I could do to just shove it into someone else’s hands to either help edit it or to finally send it out for distribution.

Writing is a complex and solitary experience, and the one thing I’ve learned faster than anything else is that you really cannot do it alone. This wouldn’t have been possible without the love of my family and friends. My parents are always raving about my books to others, A.J., my love, always listening to my rants in the car, my best friend Kaitlyn for supporting and believing me, Danielle L. Jensen for understanding and letting me go on rants about how difficult stories can be and then sending me teasers, character art, and GIFs to cheer me up. All of you are amazing and I am so fortunate to have you in my life!

Thank you, Whitney McGruder! I finally got to work with you, yay! And you are the actual best. Thank you so much for helping me work through my editorial crisis with honesty, care, and detail. You helped me save this book!

Giselle of XPresso Book Tours and the countless bloggers, bookstagrammers, and reviewers who were a godsend when I needed to promote this book. Thank you from the bottom of my heart, truly.

Deranged Doctor Design and their fabulous team of designers for crafting beautiful cover art and for patiently waiting while the book shifted release schedules and page counts. I absolutely adore you guys!

Most of all, I have to thank you, the reader, for giving this book a chance. Whether you’re an experienced reader or a new reader of mine, I am eternally grateful that you would give my little book a shot, and I hope you had fun reading it. If you’re also a reader who has left a review to help me sell more copies… well, I consider you to be a new god.
