Private Tasting Page 3

  He hissed, pulsed his hips.

She dipped her head, her tongue circled one of his balls, then she took it in her mouth and gently sucked.

Lucio tangled his hands in her hair and pulsed his hips. His need and lust made his fingers taut, his thrusts rough against her mouth.

She wanted to fuck him so badly, it crackled along her skin, made her blood effervesce. Beth gripped the base of his erection, let her teeth graze the heated skin of his cock and helmet. The rough rasp of her tongue against the buffed finish of his dick made her insides twist, tighten. Creamy, salty, she licked the tang of his pre-cum.

She engulfed his entire shaft and fucked him with her tongue and mouth. He rode her, his hands fisted in her hair, his hips straining against her jaw, and the raspy curls of his leg hair brushing against her cheeks.

Lucio gripped her, pulled free, and yanked her up his body. Rolling and pinning her under his weight, he kissed her, hard.

She shifted, letting him between her legs, desperate for his possession.

He moved his sweet torture to her breasts, sucked on the nipples, bit the hard buds with the perfect mix of pressure and pleasure.

Her body lit up. Her pussy clenched, then clenched again.

Lucio’s mouth lifted in a sexy smile.

Liquid flooded her center. “Ride me,” she whispered in his ear. “Hard, soft, I don’t give a shit.” She pulled away so she could see his eyes. “Just do me.”

His pupils dilated, and his cheeks flushed with anticipation. Reaching under the pillow, he pulled out a condom and sheathed himself. With one push, he was in her. Their hips ground against each other as he shifted, going deeper so he could fuck her hard.

Beth wrapped her legs around his waist, then shifted them higher. She needed him, wanted him in her core.

The base of his cock pounded her, the thrust of his hips slapped his balls on her sex. She arched her back, tangled her tongue with his as the pace increased. He stroked her faster, shorter, rubbing her clit with his fingers.

“Please, please.” She panted the words in rhythm to his thrusts, holding to his broad shoulders until finally—mercifully—the tight ache inside her broke, shattered. She came and came again, her muscles sensitive to his thickening. Then the hot heat of his essence exploded inside the latex, and he cried her name as the orgasm rocked his body.

Beth woke with the sun’s rays peeking over the horizon. The night was over and so was her time with Lucio. He’d only promised a night, and she knew him well enough not to ask for more.

“Euro for your thoughts?” Lucio wrapped his arm around her waist, pulled her close to the warm length of his body and his morning erection.

One more fuck. One more time. One last chance to imprint his touch on her body. All she’d do was prolong her torture. Satiate, not satisfy. But shit, what sweet, sexy, mind-blowing torture. “It’s penny,” she said. “Penny for your thoughts.”

“I told you, cara.” He brushed a strand of hair from her forehead. “Your thoughts have always been worth more to me.”

What was the point in prolonging her agony? “I’m thinking it’s nice to sleep here with you.” She met his gaze, faked a smile. “Go back to sleep.”

  “Only if you stay.”

“Of course.” But as soon as the slow rhythm of his breath told her he’d fallen asleep, she slipped from his arms and his bed.

The entire time she dressed, Beth vaulted between being content at the memories formed last night and hating herself for going down a path she could never turn back from. She’d hoped—wished—that he’d declare…well, anything for her. But he hadn’t. Their night had been only that. A few hours of fucking. Not lovemaking.

Her fault, not his, for wanting him to be something he couldn’t, for wanting him to give her something he couldn’t. She tiptoed down the stairs, headed to the exit, shoes in hand.

“Did you think I wouldn’t hear you leave?”

She jumped and whirled from the front door. Lucio, dressed only in his tuxedo pants, strode past her and shut the door. He turned to face her, and her already low emotions sank at his expression. She knew that look, knew what the stubborn line of his lips meant as well as the determined light in his eyes. Shit. How often had she listened to him recite his speech? Now she was going to be part of his goodbye routine. Fuck.

  “Beth? What’s wrong?”

  “Nothing. I—I should go.”

He blocked her path, and his heady scent made her mouth dry. Lucio wrapped his long fingers around her wrists. “What is it? Tell me.”

She said nothing. Then, “It’s fine. I need to go, and you should go back to bed.”

“You did keep me up all night,” he said, amused.

It hurt too much to smile, and she couldn’t make a joke over a memory that would both bring her pleasure and pain every time it came to mind.

“Beth, we have been friends for so long. Tell me.” She heard the hurt in his voice.

“I thought it was best to go, now,” she said. “Before…”

  He arched an eyebrow.

“God! Lucio, I’ve known you too long not to know what would happen today.”

His face went slack as he let go of her arm and stepped back. “Oh.”

  “You think I’m an idiot?”

  “No—!”

“Then let’s not do this.” Her tone was tight, and the control she exerted to keep from wailing made her skin feel like leather.

  “You don’t want to talk.”

She snorted. “There’s nothing to talk about. I’ve heard it before.”

“But not from me,” he said slowly, measuring each word.

“I really don’t want to hear it from you.”

Lucio flinched. “I don’t understand—I thought you’d be pleased. After our talk about bravery and—”

Tempted to reach for him, to kiss away the pain on his face, she tucked her hands behind her. “Bravery?”

“Yes.” Impatience mixed with hurt. “I thought you’d—” He sighed and ran his fingers through his hair. “Forget it. I’m only repeating myself.” He gave her a sad smile. “I thought this would go better.”

This time she couldn’t resist reaching for him.

  He moved from her touch.

The physical rejection hurt as much as the emotional one. “I’m sorry,” she said. “I should—this isn’t the way I wanted our time to end. I should go.”

Lucio sighed. “Don’t apologize. I shouldn’t have pushed you last night.”

“It was my choice and I don’t—”

“I knew you were hurting over Michael. This is my fault.”

“It’s no one’s fault.” She licked her lips. “No one can force emotions they don’t feel.”

He looked sadly at her. “I know and I would never force you to return the feelings I have for you.”

She blinked, then blinked again. Her brain churned the words. “Wait. What?”

“My feelings for you,” he said. “It’s fine. I’ll be fine.” He took her by the elbow and propelled her to the door.

“What kind of feelings?” Her heels skidded on the tiled floor.

He stopped and twisted her to face him. “You said you knew why I wanted to talk to you.”

“To end this thing between us.”

Lucio’s eyes widened. “Why would I end this?”

“Because it’s what you do with every woman. Because you said it was only for one night.”

“Beth,” he said quietly. “You’re not every woman.”

Her heart contracted “You’ve always had a short attention span with women. No one holds your interest.”

“One did,” he said. “But ever since I’ve known you, you’ve had a man.” He shrugged. “It’s always been you, Beth. I may have tried to find pleasure elsewhere, but you’re the only one who ever brought me happiness.”

She gave a shaky laugh. “I only dated because you always had a woman.”

  “I had women bec
ause you had men.”

She pressed her hand against her forehead. “I don’t—why didn’t you say anything last night?”

He laughed self-consciously. “I was afraid. I didn’t want to ruin the moment if you didn’t care for me the way I care for you.” His voice softened. “And I do care for you. Deeply. When you came to me the other night, I thought you were drunk.” He trailed his finger along her jaw. “It took all my will to turn you away.”

She stepped close, inhaled the scent and warmth of him.

“I couldn’t do it. I could never hurt you, Beth.” Conviction throbbed in his voice. “But last night—Gesù, when I realized you were serious…” His eyes went wide. “When I realized you wanted me…” He gave a shaky laugh. “I’ve needed you for so long, Beth. You are so beautiful to me. Inside. Outside. I want only you. For as long as you want me, I’ll take it.”

She curled her fingers in his waistband, pulled herself closer. “You, too. However long, Lucio, I’m yours.” She kissed the corner of his mouth. “In fact, I’m willing to prove it.”

The corner of his mouth lifted. He took her by the hand and led her towards the stairs.
