“It’s not as unlikely as a fae running a tavern.” He smiled for a moment then became somber. “I suppose I should start one again, closer to the sea this time. It is a strange thing to miss.”
“You’ve been around humans too long.” The captain let out a laugh.
“Only the crazy ones.”
“When all are at odds with one another, it’s only those deemed as fools that try to work together.” The captain tapped the side of his nose. “Perhaps we’re not so foolish after all.”
“I am glad to remain a fool to keep a friend.” The fairy stood up and let his wings fan out. “I have tarried long enough. I will speak to the elven council one last time, but I’m sure our paths will cross again.” He rose above the ship. “Farewell, Ben. Stay true to the light.”
The captain waved and watched the fairy depart into the night sky. The boat carried him steadily away from the elven isle and back home, wherever that would be for the old conjurer.

Acknowledgments
I have to start by thanking the One who drives out the darkness and brought me to the Light.
Also, this never would have been done without the support and editing skills of my beautiful wife, Lisa, who helps me in the dark times. Our love goes beyond the realms.
A million thanks to my beta readers: Crystal, Alex, David, Jennifer, & Joe. . . sorry for keeping you up at night.
Thank you to my friends and family who are always supporting my writing (sorry if this one is a little too scary for you, mom).
And last, but certainly not the least, an overwhelming thank you to all who read this book. If I could hug each one of you for spending time in my stories, I would!
From the bottom of my caffeine-ridden heart: Thank you!
