“I made some arrangements. Anything can be undone if you want.”

“Arrangements?” I asked with excitement. “What arrangements?”

“Cian has the pub in hand. I can stay here for a while.”

  My smile grew even wider.

  “How long?”

“A month. But only if you want.”

  “If? Psh.”

I launched at him. He caught me, but we both fell back against the arm of the couch and bounced right onto the floor. Eagan took the brunt of the impact. I hit my knee, but I didn’t care.

“A month? Really?” I asked. He nodded. “You can stay here, of course. We can do so much in a month.”

  “It’ll go by too quickly.”

I didn’t want to talk about it.

  “But a month.”

  “There’s one rule, Maggie.”

“I don’t like rules.” At least not where he was concerned.

“This is a good one. While I’m here, we have to figure out what we want to do once you graduate. Have to make a plan.”

I pushed myself off him and sat on my knees so he could get off the floor, too.

“Maggie, I don’t want to go weeks without seeing you. I realize we don’t have a lot of choice. You're still in school. But what about after? That’s what we need to figure out.”

“After? You mean in like a year? When you’re so in love with me you won’t be able to stand it?”

  “Can’t stand it now.”

“Maybe I should look into going to school in Ireland,” I offered.

He thought for a moment then said, “As much as I love that idea, I think you’d lose a lot in the transfer. We’d need to look at it very carefully.”

Yeah, I hadn’t thought about losing credits and being further away from graduation. That would suck since I was so close to graduation.

“Is that all you wanted to talk about right now?”

  “Yeah. Why?”

“I’d really like to kiss you now.”

Eagan wrapped an arm around my waist and pulled me against him tightly. As his mouth made demands against mine, he laid back, this time gently, onto the floor.

  We didn’t have to rush.

There was a need burning beneath my skin, ignited and sustained by his touch.

But he wasn’t going anywhere, so we didn’t have to hurry.

  We had all night.

All month actually and by the sound of it, the rest of our lives.
