“Visiting the stars?” Allegra’s smile was of wonder. “I think you must show me how we did that, caro mio, for I am not sure if I know what you mean.”
He leaned across her body, pushing himself up on his elbows, his face mere inches from hers. “I think you know, imp. You know very well.” His lips teasingly brushed hers. “Amerò my darling. I will love.”
She reached up a hand to brush at his beloved angel wings, then traced the line of his cheek. “Ah, Valerian. Amerai—you will love. I like that. And then?”
He briefly turned his lips into her palm, then looked deeply into her eyes and whispered, “And then, my dearest imp, ameremo—we will love.”
“Amiamo, caro mio—we love!” Allegra agreed, willingly surrendering her lips to his.
And then there was no more need for words.
