I smile down at the woman beneath me, my heart overflowing with real joy and true contentment. Planting a quick kiss on her forehead, I get up to dispose of the condom and clean up.

The rest of the weekend passes by all too quickly. It’s time to go back and that means saying goodbye to Tiffany. We make it a simple goodbye, as everyone is around. I can see the glistening in her eyes as she holds back the tears.

“We will figure this out, Tiffany. I will visit soon, babe. Call me when you get home.” I say as I shut the door to her car.

Watching her pull away, I feel like half of me is leaving with her.

  Chapter 18

  Are We Really Doing This?

  Tiffany

It’s been three weeks since my weekend with everyone in North Carolina. Missing Harrison becomes worse with every passing day.

We talk and text but that was the norm, before our recent rendezvous. I wish I knew what we were doing. I feel stupid asking, ‘hey are you like my boyfriend?’ I mean how old are we, seriously.

My doorbell rings. I can’t imagine who is here, Elodie is at work, no one else would visit. I answer to find a flower delivery woman in front of me. I sign for the beautiful bouquet of red roses.

Setting them on the counter, I curiously open the card.

There are 11 roses here, the 12th will come later baby. Just know I’m missing you. Love, Me

Smiling like a school girl, I grab my phone.

“Hey, Tiff. What’s up?” Harrison answers.

“Thank you for the flowers. They are gorgeous.” I reply not able to stop the giddy sound in my voice.

“As are you, Baby.” He responds, making my heart flutter at his compliment.

“Whatcha doin?” I ask looking for a casual conversation.

“Test driving a car that we installed air ride suspension in.”

“Yea, like I know what that means.” I retort.

He laughs. “They smooth out the ride, babe, so you don’t feel every bump in the road. Older cars typically have metal spring shocks, not the best for long distances. It enhances the luxury in a modified classic car.”

“Huh?” I respond because everything he said went in one ear and out the other.

“Never mind. What are you doing today, beautiful?”

“Missing you, doing laundry, and having dinner with Elodie.” I reply.

“I miss you, too. I wish it was me going to dinner with you, not Elodie.” He says sweetly.

“Me, too. I know we’ve spent time apart before, but I really miss you.”

“I hate to cut this short, but I gotta get this car back to the shop and finish work. Have fun with Elodie; call me tonight when you’re settled in.”

“Ok, be safe, don’t work too hard. Bye Harrison.” I say slightly sad to be away from his voice.

  “Talk to you tonight, babe.”

With that he hangs up and I go about my day. As I’m getting ready for Elodie to pick me up for dinner, I realize the other rose never came. Whatever Harrison planned isn’t going to happen this late. Oh well, maybe tomorrow. I don’t want another rose, I’d much rather have him. Elodie arrives and we head to dinner, I don’t give a second thought to the other flower.

  Harrison

I’ve been fighting to keep my eagerness and excitement at bay for the last two hours. I arrived earlier than I planned and it’s taken everything in me not to go over to Tiffany’s before dinner. Elodie messaged me as they were leaving the restaurant. I’m now leaning against Tiffany’s door, with the single red rose, the last from her bouquet, waiting for her arrival.

Watching her approach, her blonde hair cascading off her shoulders, my heart beats faster. When she realizes I’m standing there, she runs up practically jumping into my arms as she kisses me. The kiss is hard, fast, sloppy, and loud. Elodie apparently had enough because she cleared her throat loudly. We break apart laughing.

“Sorry, El. Thanks for taking her out tonight and texting me.” I say.

“El, you knew he was here and you made me stay for dessert?” Tiffany sarcastically replies.

Elodie laughs as she hugs Tiff and leaves. We enter the condo. Before I can speak, Tiffany is wrapping her arms around my neck pulling me down to kiss her. I break away, amused by her excitement.

“Damn baby, don’t you want to put your rose in water or some shit?”

“Fuck no, I want you.” Tiffany replies as she unbuttons my jeans and pull them down with my boxers. Taking my erection in her hand, she drops to her knees.

“Tiffany, baby, you need to get up. Let’s go to the bedroom and….”

Her soft, warm mouth wraps around my dick, stopping me mid-sentence. All thoughts gone as my penis now controls my brain. She reaches to cup my balls, gently squeezing and tugging on them, sending more blood rushing to the head of my penis. Her tongue is teasing each of the ball piercings as she slides me in and out of her mouth. She sucks hard, releases, then sliding my dick in and out, licking along the base, sucking hard again; the rhythm and teasing is building up, I can feel the tightening deep in my balls.

“Tiff, baby, you might want to stop.” I warn.

Instead, there is no more teasing, its sucking, sliding, licking, and at a furious pace. I’m too big for her to take all of me, her hand is gripping behind her mouth now, my cock wrapped in its own special Tiffany cocoon. My release comes hard and fast, making my weakened knee tremble beneath my weight from the onslaught of my orgasm. Tiffany swallows what she can, when she can take no more she moves her head. Gently, she jacks me off with her hand, slowly milking every drop of my cum out on to her tile entryway floor. When I’m done, I help her stand up and pull my boxers and jeans back into place.

“Baby that was a hell of a welcome, but we have a mess to clean up now.”

She smiles innocently at me. “I’m just getting started. Go clean yourself up, get your bag and settle in, I’ll get the floor.”

She starts to move away, I grab her and kiss her. The salty taste still on her tongue as I invade her mouth; yes, we are just getting started. Floor forgotten momentarily as I begin removing her clothes, we both end up naked in the chair. Tiffany straddling me, my erection now full of life once again, she takes me in hand and guides me inside her. She begins to move, placing my hands on her hips; I still her.

“Baby, you feel so good. Are you sure about being bare? I’m clean but there are other things to think of.” I respond, wishing on every star she’s on the pill and this will continue.

“We’re good babe. It’s only been you and I’m on the pill.” She answers as her mouth comes crashing down on mine.

It’s been so long since I’ve let a woman set the pace and ride me. I sit back further into the chair. This gives me a better angle to match her rhythm thrusting up into her deeper. She comes up, placing the head of my penis just inside her entrance, as she circles her hip. My piercing rubs that sweet spot sending shivers through her body as she slides down on me. Knowing she’s close, I place my hand between our joined bodies, to stroke her clit as I bite down on her nipples making sure to roll her rings with my tongue. She shudders around me as her climax hits. The aftershocks milking my dick as I reach my own pinnacle. Releasing inside of her, filling her womb, leaves me more physically satisfied than ever before. I want to be joined with her forever.

We stay in the chair for a while; I’m still inside her. She’s against my chest, head in my neck as we both relax from our activities.

“Are we really doing this?” She whispers.

“Yes, Tiffany, we’re really doing this. We’re going to keep doing this for a long time to come too. Get used to it.” I say holding her tighter. Those three special words almost spilling out of my mouth as I’m realize my contentment and peace in life, is here in my arms right now. I don’t want to ever let go.

We clean up each other, the floor, and settle in to bed. After a fast fuck, I take my time to cherish and make slow, sweet love to Tiffany before we finally fell asleep. Holding her in
my arms all night, gave me a comfort I’ve never experienced before. Her alarm wakes us up much too early. She has to work, and I have to go back to Charlotte. I was here to deliver a car for Ryder. As much as I don’t want to leave, I’m expected back. We are going to make this work. Life in Charlotte is good. I can’t leave Maggie, Dina, the guys or Lauren. They’re family yes, but it’s my day to day life now. I’d miss everyone, including Jake and Kenna, if I came back to South Carolina. I’m not sure I want to live without Tiffany either. We are going to figure something out. I don’t know how, yet, but we will.

  Chapter 19

  Good Friends

  2 Months Later

  Tiffany

“Hey, Dina, what’s up? I’m at work, I don’t have long.” I answer my ringing phone.

“We have a job for you.” She states.

  “Okay, when? How large? Where?”

“This is a large charity ball next month. You can bake everything fresh here. I’m calling to give you the time to let Susan know so you can stay here for a week. This job is a full confectioners catering. They don’t want appetizers or finger foods. They want everything to be sweets. Tea cookies, crumpets, cupcakes, a full cake, pastries, danishes, and the likes. Get things worked out with her, we will pay your salary for the week. Email me a list of supplies you need, and I will make sure everything you need is here. We are renting the small café next door that has a full kitchen for you to use. You’re the only one I trust to satisfy my client for this scale of an event. Please.” She begs in the innocent voice that only Dina can pull off.

“Let me see what I can work out.”

I talk to Susan who says it’s fine. She recently hired another person. With all the marketing I’ve done for her and the business Dina has been sending things are taking off. Before I get a chance to call Dina back, my phone chimes, alerting me to a new text from Maggie.

R u coming up here to work 4 the week or what? U know u want 2

I laugh out loud knowing Maggie wants me there for more than work.

Yes I am, let Dina know. I haven’t told H yet.

Immediately she replies. Yay. Don’t tell him let it b a surprise

Surprise Harrison, I like it. Keeping my plans from slipping out every time I talk to Harrison, these past three weeks has been hard. I’m all packed up and ready to go. I drive straight to the garage since I’ve never been to Harrison’s apartment.

Every bay in the garage is full with some car in the midst of a repair or restoration. The smell of oil, rubber, primer, and paint engulf me. I look around not knowing where Harrison is. Jake comes around the corner. When he recognizes me, he yells to the back with a huge smile on his face.

“Lawson, get your sorry ass out here. Now!”

“Tiffany, glad you’re here. That fucker’s been in a mood missing you. He needs you here.” Jake says to me. His words hitting home, I’ve been in a mood too. I need to be with Harrison, really be here. How are we going to make this work, I wonder.

Harrison comes around from the office with a stern look on his face.

“What’s the problem, shit head?” He asks looking towards Jake. His gaze follows Jake’s. When he lands on me the biggest smile I’ve ever seen comes across his face.

He comes over and scoops me up, landing a kiss on my lips that conveys every emotion I’ve been feeling myself. I love this man, unconditionally, unabashedly, and boldly.

“Hello, handsome.” I manage when he finally breaks our kiss.

  “You’re really here?” Harrison questions.

“Yes, Dina and Maggie need me for the week.”

Without a second thought, he turns to Jake. “My girl’s here man, I’m outta here for the day. I’ll finish up tomorrow or some shit. I can’t stay today though.”

“Follow me to my apartment baby.” He directs me to the front door. With a quick kiss to my lips then my forehead, he tucks me away in my car.

We arrive at his apartment. It’s sparsely decorated and a typical bachelor pad. I drop my bags and wrap my arms around my man. His apartment may be small, it may not be clean or give that cozy feeling, but in his arms, I am home.

The week passes all too quickly between working and taking in as much time with Harrison as possible. Dina has presented me with an option that would solve a lot of problems. I need to discuss it with Harrison but I don’t know how. He’s coming back to South Carolina with me for two days. I can find a way to bring it up then.

  Harrison

I’ve taken two days off to spend with Tiffany. I’m trying to prolong our time together. Saying goodbye, even for a few days, seems impossible now that I’ve had her in my bed every night. She has to go check in with Susan. I have something important to take care of myself and I don’t want Tiffany around.

I make the drive in a blur, thoughts swirling in my head. It’s a dreary overcast day, the sky gray and sadness in the air. I park my Trans Am after letting it sit idle and staring at the tombstones in front of me. I haven’t been back since the day we put my best friend in the ground. Tiffany was his family. My breath hitches as I climb out of the car.

Walking through the rows, I feel the tears burning behind eyes. I find his marker and kneel down before him. Placing my hand on the stone I outline his name with my fingers.

“God, how I wish you were here. Things are good man, really good. I want to share it all with you and I can’t; not in the way I want to. Man, damn it.” I begin to cry unable to control my emotions. The loss is cutting deep. I give myself time to get it out, shedding the tears I’ve been holding in for too long.

“Matt, I love her. I fucking love her. It’s not like before. Everything is so much better this time. I’m here because I need to know you would be okay with this. I need a sign man. Our lives are in two different directions. She’s got it good here. I don’t want to mess that up. My life is in Charlotte. I want her, though. I want it all, I want to propose, marry her, have babies with her, and grow old and ugly with her.”

I look at my friend’s headstone. A breeze rolls over the empty space around me. Thoughts swirl in my head. I can hear Matt’s voice in my ears even though I know he’s not here.

Be her friend, be her lover, be her protector, and be her comforter. Take care of her, always.

A calm washes over me. Deep inside I know he’s okay. I also know what I need to do. My heart is hers and it’s time to put it all on the line.

  Chapter 20

Where Do We Go From Here?

  Tiffany

Dina presented me with a business proposal a little while back. With my savings, the money I have left from Matt’s insurance, I could start the business without Dina’s capitol. She offered to invest in a bakery, in Charlotte, for me. The retail space beside her office was previously a café. It has the display cases and kitchen I need. This opportunity would bring me to Charlotte permanently. Dina has a lot of contacts and event opportunities to keep me steady until I build up my clientele.

Am I ready to take this step? I love Harrison without a doubt. Neither of us have said the words, but I feel it in my soul that he loves me. Having my own business is going to tie me down to Charlotte permanently, even if things don’t work with Harrison.

I glance around my condo living room, Matt’s picture on my mantle catching my eye. I pick it up and hold it in my hand. The sparkle in his eye clearly evident, the life he lived staring back at me. Brave, he took chances. He died doing what he wanted to do, living his life to the fullest. Those blue eyes staring at me through the picture gave me all the reassurance I needed.
