“You should really...watch where...you're going,” she said between kisses.

“I know exactly where I'm going,” Alder muttered, his voice low and purring.

Taylor buried her fingers in his hair, both for warmth and pleasure. “You're not sending Holly, are you?”

  “Nope.”

  “That's so mean.”

“Would you rather go back and wait while I hunt her down?”

  “Nope.”

As they started to ascend the hillside, Alder actually did need to look where he was going. He gave her lips one final nip before pulling back. Her heart still fluttering, Taylor rested her head in the crook of his neck. The falling snow muted the ambient sounds of the forest, and all she could hear was the sound of Alder's heart beating.

Absently, she said, “I really did think spring was right around the corner.”

“It still is,” Alder replied. “The corner was just farther away than you thought.”

The quiet returned, and Taylor's mind drifted, contemplating the year to come. For humans, the new year had already come and gone. Resolutions had been made, broken, and forgotten. For Taylor and her pack, the year would not begin until the snow finally subsided and the first buds of spring flowers began to appear.

The year had great potential for change. Their pack could be gaining a new alliance. Taylor could be gaining a new role within the pack. They had two new pups, and if Hale had his way, they'd have another on the way before the year was out. By the time the next winter came, life as she knew it would be unrecognizable from where she was now.

“Does it worry you?” Taylor said as they reached the pathway to the den. “All the change that's ahead?”

Alder shrugged. “When don't things change, Taylor?” He pressed a kiss to her forehead. “Whatever happens, we'll all get through it together.”

  “You're right. We always do.”

Venture to the present day, with an all-new, full-length novel series…

Beautiful, intelligent, and skilled at getting what she wants, Harper has set her sights on Shan, the mysterious alpha of the largest shifter pack in recorded history. An anthropologist by trade and a questioner by nature, she wants to find out who he is and how he's managed to do what no other alpha has—unite the entire shifter population of Appalachia.

What she finds is a man that exceeds her wildest expectations. Handsome, brilliant, and unaccustomed to being denied, Shan is soon captivated by Harper, who is every bit as enigmatic as he is.

Shan knows there are things Harper isn't telling him. Her life is a carefully constructed facade, and for all his cunning, he can't figure her out. As he chips away at her facade, his instincts urge him to claim her as his own.
