She shook her head. ‘Maybe not.’
‘I love you, Nikki. Please don’t walk away from me. I want to be with you. I think we could be something very special together.’
‘I think so too,’ she said, smiling happily.
‘So?’ I asked.
‘So…perhaps we start with dating?’
‘Good idea,’ I smiled.
‘And getting you pregnant and buying a house so we can kick start this process a little quicker,’ she said happily.
‘Really?
‘Why not? Like you said-sometimes you just know. Let’s go for it, Sarah. Let’s do everything we talked about on holiday. We’re already in love-everything else will fall into place.’
I smiled at her. ‘I love you, Nikki,’ I told her.
‘I love you too,’ she smiled.
She leaned towards me and kissed me long and slow. I sank into her arms, knowing that my future was with her.
Epilogue
Nikki and Sarah created the life of their dreams. Shortly after Nikki fell pregnant, Sarah managed to get pregnant as well. They bought a house in Bournemouth which was in walking distance of the sea and settled there before the babies were born. When Eve and Ella arrived, Sarah and Nikki felt like their lives had more meaning than ever. With the babies in tow, they married on the beach, swearing their love for each other for eternity, with their daughters watching on. Their happily ever after was complete…the wish at the waterfall, granted x
