The Road to Redemption: Finding Grace, Book 1 Page 29

by DM Davis

“Despite what you see, I’m not perfect, Lauren. I have insecurities about my body too. It’s not about perfection. It’s about being the best you can be and accepting what you can’t change. Do you want me to tell you what bothers me about my body?”

She shakes her head. “No. You’re perfect to me.” Her love shines through her smile, and I see a glimmer of hope.

“Exactly. That’s what I’m trying to show you. You are perfect to me. Regardless of what you think about your body, you are perfect to me—as you are right now.”

I move behind her and slip my arms around her chest, hugging her possessively. She wraps her arms over mine and hugs me back.

“Look at us in the mirror.”

Her eyes leave mine and slowly rest on our reflection. She’s wrapped in our arms, her breasts still hidden.

“The woman in my arms is the one I love. You. I love you more than I ever thought possible.” I kiss her shoulder and loosen my grip so only my hands cover her breasts.

Her eyes stay locked on us.

“I don’t love you because of your body, but the fact that I love your body is a bonus.” I smile, and this time she smiles back.

“Do you think I want someone who’s all muscle?”

  She doesn’t answer.

I continue, “I want your curves and your softness, your full breasts.” I move my hands on her breasts, squeezing and kneading them.

She leans into me as her nipples harden in my palms, and my arousal is awakened. I slowly reveal her breasts, continuing to tease her nipples, relishing the flush of her skin and the sigh on her breath.

“You have the most beautiful breasts. If I were you, I’d show them to everyone. But you’re you, and you don’t flaunt them. I love that they’re all mine, and you don’t share them with revealing clothes.”

I grind my hips, pressing my erection against her. “Feel what you do to me.” I pull her hand between us, placing it on my cock. “This is for you, Dove. Only you.”

She closes her eyes, grips my shaft, and strokes me over the fabric of my briefs.

My hips jerk, wanting more. But I still her hand. “Not yet.”

Still behind her, I move my hands to her stomach and waist. “You’re fit and toned, but still all woman.” I squeeze her waist. “I love your curves.” She smiles, and I kiss her shoulder, running my hand across her abdomen, and I feel her suck in a breath. “I don’t want a ripped six-pack. That’s not attractive to me. It may be impressive, but it’s not what I want pressed against me. It’s not what I want to make love to. And it’s not what I want in my arms at night.”

Her hand squeezes mine, and I feel her gratitude for my words. I hope they sink in, and she doesn’t think I’m only being nice, blowing hot air up her arse.

I grip her hips and grind against her. She gasps her shock. She’d really be shocked if she knew what I’d really like to do to her—bend her over the counter, eat her out, and then plunge in balls deep, pounding her until her doubt of my attraction for her shatters into a million pieces.

Instead, I stick with words. “These are hips I want to make love to, that I want to bear my children.”

A warm, teasing smile snakes across her face. She loves it when I talk of getting her pregnant. Me too, Dove, me too.

“And this glorious arse...” I cup it with both hands and squeeze, “…is exactly what I want sitting on my lap and under my palms when you grind your clit against my cock.” I nuzzle into her neck. “And someday I’ll be holding it tight when we make love, and I’m lost inside your glorious pussy.”

She shudders, looking at me with such love and tenderness.

I motion to the mirror, wanting her to look at herself. And this time she does it without hesitation. I slip one hand around her waist and the other one into the front fold of my boxer briefs she’s wearing.

Her hands rest on my arms as she leans back, giving herself to me.

  Beautifully. Unconditionally. Brazenly.

My fingers slip into her wetness, and I nearly growl. “Always so ready for me.”

  She breaths in deeply.

When I graze her swollen clit, her grip tightens, her nipples pucker, and she closes her eyes on a moan, tilting her head back, giving herself to me completely.

I’m undone by her trust, my eyes locked on her reflection, unable or unwilling to look away. I latch on to her neck, slipping two fingers inside her. Her hips jerk, her legs tremble, and her needful sigh has my cock twitching in response as if answering her call.

“This.” I move inside her. “This always surprises me—how amazing you feel. I’ll never get enough of you.”

“Theo,” she moans my name in reverence, as a plea, as a call from her soul to mine.

  “I know, Dove.”

And I do. I know her.

I know she wants me as much as I want her.

I know we will never tire of this otherworldly connection that draws us together—body and soul.

I know I will spend the rest of my life loving her.

Showing her how beautiful she is and how much I love her.

  Just. The. Way. She. Is.

Theo and Lauren’s journey continues in The Price of Atonement.

I’m not sure any words could accurately express how much Lauren’s story means to me. Yes, it’s Theo’s journey too, but Lauren’s struggle with worthiness is closer to that of my own, and therefore, near and dear to my heart.

I want to thank my husband who stuck out the four year wait for me to finish what I started with GRACE. That’s what we call The Road to Redemption in my house as it’s the first in the Finding Grace series, and the first book I ever wrote. It’s been a long journey of starts and stops, but we finally birthed our baby. Hallelujah!

To my children, thank you for your endless support and for loving that your mommy is an author. I do this as much for you as for myself to show us both what it looks like to work for your dreams.

Thank you to the rest of my family for your unwavering support. I’m able to do this because you believe I can. And…I’m still amazed you don’t laugh at me for pursuing my dreams instead of getting a ‘real’ job. Not their words, mine. Remember, I’m still working on the whole worthiness thing.

To my fellow writerly peeps, thank you for your endless support on social media with post shares, comments, and love. To my MP group, your support and early critiques are priceless. A never-ending stream of thanks to Teddy for keeping me grounded, keeping me going, and giving me a soft place to land when I freak out.

To my editor, Tamara, for sticking i
t out through three Until You books and now GRACE. I’m thankful to have you on this journey. I live for your praise like the needy author I am.

And lastly, to the readers and bloggers, thank you for your kind words and support. For sending me notes, sharing my posts, and asking when my next book will be published. I do this because like you I love books and love to read. So, the fact that you like to read my books blows me away. Thank you, thank you, thank you.

Until next time, I will continue to write…
