Out of Darkness: Cirenthian Chronicles (Erotic Fantasy) Book 1 Page 3

by D. R. Rosier

She turned her head and looked back at me seductively as she arched her back and shook her ass in obvious invitation. I got up on my knees wordlessly and pushed into her from behind. She was so wet it slid right into her tight and ready passage until I was buried.

She moaned and pushed back, grounding her hips slightly, “Goddess that’s good, I’ve been wanting this since I had that monster in my mouth.”

I started to slam into her hard and fast, sensing that was just what she wanted. I was careful with my speed and strength though, not to look inhuman, or worse, hurt her. I grabbed her light blonde hair and pulled back. I had just cum in her mouth and knew I would be able to last a long time. I almost laughed when I realized that had probably been her plan from the beginning.

Her ass looked so sexy as it shook each time our bodies met. The curves of her waist were perfectly proportioned to her flaring hips. I could see her breasts peak out from behind her body as they shook and bounced violently each time our bodies met.

I grinned, because I wasn’t quite human. I pounded into her relentlessly, giving her orgasm after orgasm. The pleasure of her heat locking around and bathing me in honey was unbelievable as her body tried to milk my seed. I was able to hold back and continue to pleasure her time and time again. Her body was covered in sweat and I could see her muscles trembling. She was no longer bucking back against me, I didn’t think she could.

I was afraid if I went on much longer her pleasure would cross the pain threshold from overstimulation, so I relaxed my iron will and concentrated instead on the beautiful woman below me. The feel of her slick warmth caressing and milking my sensitive invading flesh, her big blue eyes, the feeling of her silken hair wrapped around my fist, it all quickly pushed me over the edge as I buried myself hard and filled her needy core.

I was out of breath from the orgasm, but I was suddenly very conscious of the fact I had been pounding this woman for close to an hour without once slowing down, and I didn’t have much sweat on my skin to show for it. I also wasn’t fatigued in the least. I wasn’t quite sure how she would react if she noticed.

I collapsed next to her and kissed her, pulling her body against mine. She was sweaty enough for both of us, and it didn’t take long for some of that to rub off.

Sienna said gasping, “Goddess, that was… crazy. I knew I would enjoy fucking you but that was…”

She giggled and asked with a blush, “You wouldn’t want a mistress would you?”

It half sounded like a throwaway line, but I detected some wistfulness in there too. Okay, so I rocked her world in bed, but there had to be more to this.

I said back cautiously, “I’m new to Cirenthia, exactly what does that entail, and why are you asking someone you hardly know?”

She snuggled her warm soft body against mine. She kissed my shoulder and looked up at me biting her lip. Her warm heat felt pleasant against my hip. She may have been young, but she was a mistress of seduction, more so because I could tell she wasn’t even trying to be right now. If I hadn’t been as old as I was, I probably would have said yes already to anything she asked.

She said softly, “I don’t know if you need one, but I already know enough of you to say I’d like to if you needed or wanted one. We are in the privacy of the bedroom, and we slept together. If you were a mean or crude man, I would already know it. I would have bruises or my ears would be ringing from cruel words. This would be the place it came out. That plus the fact sex with you was as far from a chore as possible, I…”

  She blushed then looked thoughtful.

She continued on a different track, “As for what it entails. The obvious part is taking care of your sexual needs, but really whatever else you needed as well. I can cook, clean, sew, haggle with the best of them, and care for horses. Whatever you want really, think of it like a servant but with benefits. I would ask for two gold pieces a month plus expenses, and more of the best sex I’ve ever had in my life.”

She blushed and looked away for a moment.

I said in a neutral voice, “I have some coins… but no prospects and I’m not even sure what I’ll be doing the end of tomorrow. I do need someone to teach me local customs, maybe help me stay out of trouble. Still, I doubt I’ll be sticking around in Cliff’s edge for long and I may do a lot of travelling before I figure something out. Is that something you’re okay with? Oh, and one gold coin a month…”

She bit her lip and sighed, “I’m okay with that, to be honest I’m looking forward to getting out of this town. My job is pleasant at times, but onerous at others. It’s umm, doubtful I’d ever find a husband in this town since… you know. Being a mistress is a big step up from a tavern whore too. I can teach you what you need to know, honestly without judgment. One gold and five silvers a month.”

  I asked, “Expenses?”

She shrugged, “You don’t want to put your mistress in rags do you? A reasonable amount spent on maintaining or replacing clothing. Plus you’d have to feed me, a room of my own for when you don’t want me to spend the night, all that stuff. Then of course if you send me to the store for things for you, I’d need the coins up front.”

I replied, “I’ll agree to one gold, five silvers, and one new dress or outfit a month. More than that will have to come out of your pay. So is there a contract of some sort, or is this based on simply our word?”

She shook her head, “No written contracts are needed, just agreement. The mages have ways to get at the truth if someone lies, misleads, or goes back on a deal. Deal breakers are usually given a permanent brand so it hardly ever happens. In our case I’d suggest we can break anytime if we both agree, and if only one wants out a one month notice.”

We both agreed to that and suddenly I found myself with a young mistress. This world was so strange, but really, she was a jewel despite her previous occupation and I wasn’t going to complain… It was a business arrangement where we were both getting something. She was getting a ticket out of town and a raise in status. I was getting a local guide and someone to help with things, and the sex well, we both enjoyed each other there.

My new mistress turned to me and asked with red cheeks, “Umm, so… what was your name?”

I snickered, “Marcus, but you can call me Marc if it pleases you. Do you have any other… commitments tonight? Or are you officially mine?”

She shook her head, “No, I had a couple of other offers, and said I would stop by if I could. I wasn’t sure how much time we would be… but I never thought this would happen. Tim’s going to be annoyed with me, but shouldn’t cause any problems.”

  I asked, “Tim?”

She replied, “Owns the tavern. Are you… tired?”

In answer I pulled her into a kiss, we did get to sleep… eventually.

  Chapter 5

I slowly woke, or at least, seemed too. I was no longer in the inn. I was sitting at a plain wooden table with a glass of milk and two chocolate chip cookies in front of me. The walls were covered in curios and cabinets containing spices of all kinds. They were also filled, overfilled really, with little knick knacks like statues and tiny stuffed animals. I shook my head; it was the kitchen of an insane person.

There was a middle aged woman with red curly hair down to her shoulders. She was a bit overweight. She was humming a tune that sounded very familiar, but I couldn’t place it. She was also stirring something on the stove and seemed to add ingredients randomly without even looking at what she grabbed off the shelves.

It was a scene I could never have in a million years come up with, so I knew this wasn’t a normal dream, if it even was one.

  “Hello,” I said tentatively.

She turned and smiled. She looked like a normal human woman of fortyish, except for her eyes. Her eyes were a dark jade green, and there were flecks of light in them. As I stared into those strange eyes I felt like I was being drawn into a night sky, thousands of stars above and around me as I floated in a void. It was magnificent, and made me feel very small, it was beyond me
as I was to an ant.

She blinked her eyes and looked away, breaking eye contact.

  I whispered, “Goddess.”

Her voice sounded… Irish, “Yes, now eat your cookies.”

I absently picked one up and bit into it. The owner of the crazy kitchen was the goddess.

I asked, “Did you change me?”

She clucked her tongue at me, “Of course not, I judged you. I decided you didn’t deserve oblivion, so I sent you to one of my other worlds.”

I frowned, “Then what happened? I am different now, more human, less of a monster.”

The cookie was delicious. The chocolate was still half melted. I took a sip of milk. This dream was kind of crazy, like her kitchen.

She blew out a breath, “Nothing happened, you didn’t change at all. How could you not know this? I brought you here to tell you to be careful, to never use all of it. If you use it all, you will die.”

  “Use all what?” I asked.

She frowned at me and I shifted uncomfortably feeling like an idiot.

She said, “You’ll find out, most people just pass out, but you will die. Remember that, and heed my warning.”

Pushing my luck I asked, “Can you tell me why I’m alive now?”

She waved her hand and two glasses appeared on the table. One was full of water, the other had a few drops on the bottom. I didn’t understand so I just waited.

She said, “Earth, your home, its magic is little, like the cup with the three droplets. The other cup is where you are now. Do you understand?”

I raised an eyebrow, what the fuck was she talking about?

She sighed and shook her head, “What you are… is an enchantment, or curse, or spell. It was a brilliant piece of magic that would make someone immortal. The problem was it all depended on a constant inflow of magic that your old world simply didn’t have. The spell, the enchantment there was starved of magic, so parts of it shut down to preserve life. No heartbeat, all that.”

She looked at me suspiciously, “You do know that magic gathers in the blood do you not?”

I wanted to say yes, but wasn’t going to lie to the goddess.

She snorted as if she had read my mind, “That is why you became a blood drinker. It wasn’t the blood, it was the tiny bit of magic a person’s blood absorbed.”

She pointed at the large glass, “Now you’re on a world rich with magic, your curse, your enchantment of life has as much magic as it needs. So your heart started beating, and everything else woke up. It’s how the spell was meant to work in the first place. Do you understand now?”

I nodded slowly, I did understand and it made a strange amount of sense.

She said, “Remember, never use it all, and don’t let people know what you are, people will do anything for the kind of immortality you have.”

I nodded, wondering why she was warning me in the first place. As I looked around I saw the truth of the kitchen, it was all there for my benefit. I would never be able to understand the goddess, and without this illusion I probably would have gone insane.

“Thank you,” I said. I figured it couldn’t hurt, and I did mean it.

I was sure she had her own reasons for putting me on my new home, but on balance I owed her for giving me an opportunity at new life. Not that I was going to tell her that.

I still had no idea what don’t use it all meant, but I was sure I’d figure it out eventually. I felt tired and drifted off to sleep in the chair…

This time my wakeup was much more pleasant. I groaned softly and pushed up into Sienna’s sweet mouth. I was really happy about the idea of having a mistress right at the moment. It didn’t take long, she worked hard and did things that felt so good they should be illegal.

I grunted and felt bliss as she sucked out ever last drop.

She winked up at me and asked, “So what’s the plan for today?”

I shrugged, “Get you some new clothes I guess, can’t have you dressed as a tavern wench anymore. Then I’m not sure, I need an idea on what kind of jobs or opportunities there are out there. I’d prefer to work for myself though.”

We talked a while about possibilities over breakfast. There were different types of travelling merchants and types of stores. If I didn’t want to do that, there were independent guards that hired out to protect caravans of goods or as a bodyguard. Bodyguards were on the road for months out of a year, but they made enough to take the rest of the year off. I also knew enough from my old life that I could make it as a blacksmith or Fletcher.

Other than that the only options were work as a guard under the government, or work for someone else’s business, which I didn’t want to do. Farming was an option, but that was my last option, I’d lose my mind doing that. Farmers were good people, it just wasn’t for me.

I was happy that my initial thoughts about Sienna were right. She was very intelligent and engaging in conversation. According to my nose, she was also very honest and believed what she told me, I was finding I had no regrets about my impulsive decision last night as the day progressed.

I felt the atmosphere in the room change and looked around. A man in red robes was by the door looking around.

He said in an arrogant bored tone, “I am mage Danos, I am looking for the man who killed the bandits outside the city. The mayor wishes to speak with him.”

Sienna’s eyes widened a little when I stood, “That would be me,” I said evenly.

He frowned at me and I saw his nostrils flair, “Address me as mage, or mage Danos.”

This guy was a peacock, but a dangerous one, “I meant no offense good mage, I am new to the great country of Cirenthia and know not the correct form of address.”

His eyes narrowed at my overly formal speech. I’m afraid I still backslid into that mode on occasion. I hadn’t quite apologized either, merely told the truth.

Danos said peremptorily, “Come with me then, and make sure you don’t make the same mistake twice.”

This wasn’t very auspicious for meeting my first mage. I hoped the others weren’t arrogant asses like this one. I glanced to Sienna for any advice she might have, but she just waved me to go on. I walked quickly to catch up to the mage who’d already gone out the front door.

I followed him down the street and took notice as the people tended to look away. Was it just for this mage? Or all mages?

I was led to the government building and then right past it toward the house. Apparently this wasn’t a formal thing, I would think if I was in trouble of some kind I’d have been taken to the public building, not the huge mansion behind it. There seemed to be a number of guards. There were two at the front gate, and another at the front door. I also noticed a few on the way to the room Danos took me to.

Danos didn’t speak to me at all, just led me into an empty room, and then left shutting the door on his way out. I was in an office with a rather large library. I felt drawn to the books, the first I had seen on this world. My fingers itched as I read the titles. There were multiple histories, books of mage magic, as well as some on the church of the goddess. This was the first indication I’d seen of a clergy on this world.

A soft voice spoke behind me, “Good morning, Marcus is it?”

I turned and saw a woman in her late twenties. She had long red hair and green eyes and a relaxed smile on her face. She was attractive, but not uncommonly so. She was also in red robes.

“Yes, I’m Marcus. Good morning mage…”

She said in a relaxed tone of voice, “Serina. It’s nice to meet you. I just wanted to meet you and thank you for taking care of those bandits yesterday. We’ve been having trouble tracking them down. I understand you’re new to our country?”

At my questioning look she smiled, “Surprised I know so much about you? It’s a small community, many people saw you and Steve selling all those swords, it wasn’t hard to put it together.”

She seemed to study me curiously, looking me up and down, “You must be an amazing swordsman to have killed so man
y without taking harm.”

She lifted a hand, “May I?”

She seemed the polar opposite of Danos, and even though I was a bit apprehensive I didn’t get the sense she wished me harm.

  I nodded.

She reached out and touched my forehead, there was a slight tingling sensation and she took her hand away. She was frowning now, and I wondered what the hell had happened.

She asked, “Do you plan to stay here? Or will you be returning home?”

I shook my head, “I don’t think I can get home. It is far, and I lack the means to return. I had planned to settle here,” I furrowed my brow, “Is there a problem mage Serina?”

Serina gestured for me to sit down. I felt a weird surge in the air, and a moment later a maid stuck her head in the room.

I sat as Serina said, “Tina, please bring in some tea for us.”

Serina sat across from me and said, “It’s a bit complicated, to understand you need to know a bit about us. Mages in Cirenthia are all required to be trained in the capital, Ciren. There are no exceptions. After which we are assigned positions based first on magical strength and then on other considerations. The thing is, most of us are born here, and are well known quantities to the royal family.

“We have history and deep roots. Magical powers run in family lines, there are no surprise births from the commoners, you understand? At least one parent must be a mage.”

I said, “I understand, although not why you’re telling me this.”

She sighed, “You are a mage. Or at least, you have the power to become one, a powerful one. Most mages have one element of the four. A handful of people each generation have two. That means for our generation, there are maybe five mages besides you with a dual power. That’s what I checked when I touched your head, I can see you are completely untrained, but you have access to air and water.”

I frowned not sure I believed it, even though my nose was telling me she spoke truly, “So, I have to go to the capitol and get trained if I stay here? Is that what you’re telling me?”
