Out of Darkness: Cirenthian Chronicles (Erotic Fantasy) Book 1 Page 19

by D. R. Rosier

I explained what I saw and the implications to Sienna, “Well, the king is dead. I imagine right now the seneschal is rolling out a tale to the heir about how we killed the king, and Stella bravely tried to stop us from escaping and died valiantly. This is bad, if we don’t figure something out we will have every mage in the country after us, not just the conspirators. Not to mention they might start a war with Ari’s tribe over it.

  “Fuck!”

Sienna moved closer and wrapped her arms around me.

She said, “We’ll fix it when Ari wakes up. Until that happens we can just stay here. I’m going to see if I can get something for dinner, I wish we had our supplies with us.”

I shrugged, “I have a little gold in my pocket, if I can’t recover our stuff later we can just get new. I’m sorry Sienna; I seem to have landed us in deep shit.”

She shook her head, “No, it was their fault, you did nothing but save us, and give us the best you could. We’ll figure it out.”

I nodded not sure what would happen. The enchantment in Ari’s heart that mirrored my own still seemed to be working. Still, even when she woke up, I knew we were screwed if the heir fell for their lies. He shouldn’t, he knew there was a conspiracy to frame us of the king’s murder. Surely he won’t be that stupid…

Early the next day, Ari opened her eyes and looked at me in shock.

She looked around and then asked, “What did you do to me?”

I whispered through my closed throat, “What I had to, I couldn’t let you go.”

She closed her eyes for a moment, “I have more senses… it’s very strange…”

I kissed her forehead, “Yes, better hearing, sense of smell, and a different way to detect life and magic. You could probably kick my ass now. You’ll be stronger and much faster than you were.”

She opened her eyes and looked up at me, I wondered if she would forgive me.

She smiled softly, “Good, because I wasn’t ready to leave you either, now kiss me.”

I asked, “Was that an order?”

Her smile widened, “Now… Don’t make me kick your ass.”

I laughed at her silver twinkling eyes. I kissed her and then we moved on to more important things.

After all, regicide and having a whole country hunting us could certainly wait for later. Much later…

  Description

Marcus was born over a thousand years ago. His life was unending, never changing, and he lived it in the dark. At least he did until a coven of powerful witches caught up to him.

Now he is in a new world, one where magic is much more powerful and prevalent. Even stranger, when he wakes up there, it’s the middle of the day and he has a heartbeat. It becomes obvious to him his life is about to change in ways he can’t predict as he is ignorant of the country and society he finds himself in.

Will he be able to find his way, build a new life, and rise out of the darkness of his past?
