  “Your work awaits, Master Kayne,” Sofia reminded, murmuring against his lips, though she slid her arms about his neck to encourage him the more.

  “It can wait, Mistress Sofia,” he said. “First I must cherish my wife, well and fully, so that she knows how much I love her.”

  The rain continued to pour outside, the fire glowed gently in the hearth, and Sofia, content to be the object of such ardent convincing, gave no argument.
