With a smile, Cole replies, “Thank you.”
Then David and his grandpa walk back to Brown’s Creek as well. “Please, take a step back, everyone,” James says.
They all take a couple of steps back and James points his hand at the coffin and says, “Vericta”
The coffin goes up into thin air and a white tombstone appears, next to Jack’s tombstone, with, ‘In loving memory of Julia Harrison,’ written on it. Cole takes a deep breath and walks over to the tombstones. He touches both of the tombstones and says, “Take good care of her, dad.” He then looks at the rest and asks, “Anyone else wants a drink?”
“I could use one,” Vanessa replies, as she walks over to Cole and puts her arm around his waist.
“Sorry mate, but I got to go again. The big surprise still needs a lot of work,” Sparks says. He then shakes hands with James, Brian, Igor, Cole, and Vanessa, and Cole says, “I can’t wait to see what it is.”
“Oh, I’m sure you will like it!”
“Thank you for coming, Sparks,” Cole says.
“No problem, alright then, I have to go. We will stay in touch, bye, mates!” Sparks replies, as he disappears into thin air.
“I am sorry, but I cannot join you guys as well. I got some things to take care of, like finding Vlad. But, I’m not the only one. If I were you, I would go to sleep soon,” James says.
“Why is that?” Cole asks.
“Because I took care of everything and tomorrow, you got a company to run and you need to go to New York.”
“What?! No way,” Vanessa says.
“But how?” Cole asks.
“Let’s just say that a little magic can make a lot of things possible. But, tomorrow you need to sign a lot of papers for the company, and you need to go to the bank. Because the bank account of your father and your mother will now be yours.”
“Wow, okay then. Well, I don’t have a choice, I guess. But how are we going to get there?”
“Don’t worry, a taxi will pick you up later at night and take you to the airport. There will be a private jet waiting, so you can take some brown werewolves with you as well if you want. And of course, Vanessa can come as well,” James replies.
“So, we better get packing soon then,” Vanessa says.
Brian looks at Igor, nods and then walks over to Cole, Vanessa, and James. “I’m sorry, I really got to go as well. There are some things I still need to take care off and after that, I’m going to New York too. The first alpha meeting is in three days, don’t forget that.”
“What is an alpha meeting?” Cole asks.
“My sister will tell you all about it, and also don’t forget to pick a beta before you leave. Alright then, see you there,” Brian replies, as he hugs Cole and Vanessa, waves James goodbye and then walks away.
“You already have an idea of who you want to pick as your beta?” Vanessa asks.
“I haven’t really thought about it yet, but I guess I will pick David. He already shows that he has the potential for being a great leader.”
“I agree, although I do think that he is a little strange sometimes,” Vanessa replies with a smile.
“Don’t worry, he is a good person,” Cole says.
He then looks at Igor and Igor says, “I’m not coming as well, I still must have a couple of friendly chats with some people.”
“You’re going to kill innocent humans again?” Vanessa asks.
“No, some punks threw boiled eggs at my mansion in Ireland, so I’m only going to have a nice friendly chat with them, that’s all.”
“Yeah, we all know what that means,” Cole replies. “Anyway, we should go back and pack already.”
“Agree,” Vanessa says, as she walks over to James and gives him a hug. “Thank you, James.”
“Take care, Vanessa,” James replies.
With a smirk, Igor asks, “I’m not getting a hug, princess?”
“No, but thank you as well.”
“My pleasure, princess.”
Cole shakes hands with James and says, “Thank you, James, really. For everything.”
“No problem, I hope everything goes well tomorrow.”
“I hope so too, but I’m sure it will. Will I see you soon again? And I hope that you can find Vlad.”
“I will try my best. And, I’m sure we will meet each other soon again. Take care, Cole, and good luck tomorrow.”
“Oh, one more thing. Are you going to let the rock appear over the tombstones again?”
“Yes, but do not worry, if you ever want to come back here and visit them, the rock will automatically fade away,” James replies.
“Alright, thank you,” Cole replies. He then looks at Igor and says, “Thanks for showing up, it means a lot. But please, do not kill innocent humans. I know that what they did wasn't nice, but can’t you just beat them up instead of killing them? And how many mansions do you even own?”
“No problem, and like I said, I’m only going to have a friendly chat with them, friend. And the number of mansions that I possess is irrelevant, friend.”
Cole shakes his head and says, “Alright, we should really start packing our bags already and let the pack know that I’ve chosen David as the beta. Bye.”
“Bye,” Vanessa says, as she and Cole walk off towards Cole’s house.
James waves and then looks at Igor and says, “I have to go as well, take care, Igor. And be sure not to do anything stupid.”
With a smirk, Igor replies, “I never do stupid things, you should know that by now. But, before you go, there is something I need to ask you.”
“And what might that be?”
“Well, old friend, no one noticed it, but your eyes were glowing purple when we were fighting side by side against the shadow werewolves. Or should I say, violet? I thought your little group ended many years ago.”
“It did end, but I’ve been noticing activity from them ever since Cole rose as the Agkron. But, that is exactly why I need to go. I need to find out what it is and if it truly is them.”
“Who knows, all I know is that if it is them, we are all in big trouble. Or at least, Cole will be in big trouble.”
“Don’t worry, Igor. If it is them, then I will stop them before they can do any harm.”
“We’ll see, I guess only time will tell. But alright then, old friend, I’m out of here,” Igor replies, as he salutes James with two fingers and disappears lightning fast.
“Goodbye, Igor,” James replies, as he points his hand towards the tombstones and makes the big rock appear over the tombstones again. He then takes a deep breath, closes his eyes, spreads his arms and disappears into thin air.
Chapter two Packs United Motors
Cole, Vanessa, David and three other brown werewolves, in human form, arrive at the airport in Toronto. It’s still very early in the morning and the sun has not even risen yet. They all get out and the taxi driver grabs their bags and suitcases from the trunk. He puts the bags and suitcases on the ground and Cole pays the driver and then the taxi driver drives off. They grab their bags and suitcases and walk inside. They look around and Cole asks, “Okay, what do we do now? Where should we check in?”
“Don’t ask me, I have no clue,” Vanessa replies.
Right at that moment a woman, in a black suit, comes walking up towards them and asks, “I assume you are Mr. Harrison?”
“That’s right.”
“Good, please, follow me,” the woman replies, as she walks over to a big airport caddy.
She gets behind the wheel and Cole and the rest take a seat and lay their bags and suitcases on the back of the airport caddy. They drive away, and Cole asks, “Sorry, but may I ask where we’re going?”
“Of course, sir. I am taking you to your private jet.”
Cole looks at Vanessa, with a slightly confused look on his face, and says, “Well, I guess James did really take care of everything.”
“Yes, but instead of a caddy, I was expecting a limousine,” Vanessa replies with a smirk.
<
br /> Cole laughs and shakes his head. They keep on driving and a short while later the woman parks the airport caddy a couple of feet away from a big private jet. They get out of the airport caddy, grab their bags and suitcases, shake hands with the pilot that is waiting for them on the steps of the jet, and then they go inside of the very luxurious jet. Cole and Vanessa take a seat in the front of the jet, while David and the other three brown werewolves sit more at the back. Cole is visibly amazed, and Vanessa says, “And I thought my father’s private jet was luxurious.”
“Yeah, this is amazing. But, are private jets just as safe as normal airplanes?”
Vanessa laughs and replies, “Really? You are still afraid?”
“No, but I just prefer to drive and just be on the ground. Being in the air is not really my thing.”
Vanessa grabs Cole’s hand and says, “Don’t worry, everything will be fine.”
Cole smiles and replies, “Yeah, I hope so.”
Right at that moment, the jet drives up the runway and takes off.
Two hours later, the jet arrives in New York and Cole, Vanessa, David, and the other three brown werewolves walk out of the jet and go into a limousine that is waiting for them. The limousine brings them to a very luxurious hotel and they all get out, check in at the front desk and go to their suites. Cole and Vanessa have a suite for themselves, while David and the other three brown werewolves share another suite. Cole lays the bags and suitcases down on the floor, walks over to the big glass doors, opens them, steps onto the big balcony and looks outside. Vanessa walks onto the balcony as well and puts her arm around Cole’s waist and asks, “And? Do you like it?”
“It’s just… wow. It looks beautiful out here. I can’t wait to walk around and to check it out.”
“Me too, but first, you need to put on a suit.”
“Why?”
“You need to go to the bank and to your company, remember?”
“Yeah, you’re right. Are you coming with me as well or?”
“If you don’t mind then I would prefer to stay in here for a while. I need to unpack and catch up on some sleep. But, if you want me to come with you, then tell me.”
Cole gives her a kiss and says, “It’s fine, don’t worry. But just so you know, I will take David and the others with me. But okay then, I will go and take a quick shower and get dressed.” Cole then walks towards the bathroom while Vanessa starts unpacking their clothes.
A short while later, Cole has a well-fitted black suit on and he put his long hair in a messy bun. He gives Vanessa a kiss and Vanessa says, “Good luck, let me know how everything went later on.”
“Will do, love you,” Cole replies, as he walks towards the front door of the suite.
“Love you too,” Vanessa says.
Cole steps out of the suite and David and the three other brown werewolves, in black suits as well, are already waiting for him in the hallway. “The limousine is already waiting, are you ready?” David asks.
“I am, so let’s go then.”
“Wait, before we go. I just want to say thank you for choosing me as the beta, it really means a lot.”
Cole puts his hand on David’s shoulder and with a smile, he replies, “Well, I’m sure that you can be a great leader, that’s why I chose you. And I’m sure that you will do fine.”
“Thank you, really,” David says.
“Alright, we got to go.”
David nods and they all walk out of the hotel, step inside of the limousine and drive off towards Packs United Motors.
A few minutes later the limousine parks right in front of the skyscraper of Packs United Motors. Cole and the rest step out of the limousine and Cole is visibly amazed, and shocked at the same time. “Damn, I didn’t know it would be this huge.”
One of the brown werewolves replies, “Yes, let’s just hope they have an elevator.”
Cole laughs and then they walk inside. It is very busy in the entrance hall, and they make their way through all the business men and woman and walk over to the front desk. There is an old lady seated behind the desk and Cole says, “Hello, I’m Cole Harrison. I should have an appointment.”
The old lady looks at him and is in shock! She puts her hands in front of her mouth and gets up! “Sorry, I did not mean to scare you or anything,” Cole says.
“Oh my god! It can’t be true!”
“Um… sorry, but I don’t understand what’s going on.”
“Jack has a son! Oh, you look just like your father!” the old lady replies, as she walks away from the desk and gives Cole a big hug.
Cole smiles and says, “Wow, okay.”
The old lady lets go of him and replies, “Sorry, but oh my god! I can’t believe this is happening! I heard that the company would have a new boss, but I would never have thought that it would be the son of Jack! I didn’t even know he had a son!”
“Yeah, most people don’t know. But I assume you worked here when my father still worked here as well?”
“Yes, oh my god! I am so pleased that you will be the new CEO. Your father was such a kind man, and I can already see it in your eyes that you are as well. And, you’re just as handsome as he was.”
“Well, I try to be a good guy, and thank you for the compliment,” Cole replies with a smile.
“I am sure that you will do a better job than the last boss we had, he was… well, how do I say this?”
“An asshole?” David says.
“Yes, I guess you could say it like that. But I heard he died of a heart attack, it’s sad, but oh well. Anyway, I will make a call and after that, I am sure someone will pick you up here.”
“Thank you very much,” Cole replies.
The old lady then walks back behind the desk, picks up the phone and starts calling someone. Cole looks at David and asks, “How come they think that Conrad died of a heart attack?”
“I honestly don’t know, but my guess is that James has something to do with that. Or any other witch or warlock.”
“Yeah, maybe,” Cole says, as he looks around.
He sees that a lot of people are looking at him sneakily and are whispering. But then a young guy comes walking up towards Cole, sticks out his hand and says, “Hello, Mr. Harrison. I am Carl. You have an appointment with me.”
“Hello, Carl. Nice to meet you,” Cole replies, as he points at David. “This is David, he will come with me if you don’t mind.”
“No problem,” Carl replies, as he shakes hands with David. “Alright, please follow me.”
Cole and David follow Carl, while the other three brown werewolves wait near the front desk. Cole, David, and Carl step into the elevator and go all the way up to the office where Conrad used to sit before. They step inside and Carl takes a seat behind the desk, while Cole and David take a seat in front of it. “So, it’s a bit strange that I’m sitting here right now because after you signed the papers, this will be your office,” Carl says.
Cole looks around and asks, “Is this the office that once belonged to my father, Jack Harrison?”
“That is correct, and I don’t know if you heard about him, but Conrad, who recently died of a heart attack, used to sit here as well.”
“I heard about that, it’s sad. But alright then, what do I need to sign?”
Carl looks around and replies, “Sorry, stupid me, I forgot the papers. Be right back.” Carl then quickly walks out of the office.
“It’s so strange to think that soon, I will be the one sitting behind this desk.”
“Yes, and not only that, you will also be in charge of the whole company. And not just this location, you’re going to be in charge of every location in the world.”
“Yeah, but I haven’t even thought about how I’m going to do that. I don’t even know how a computer works.”
David laughs and replies, “Me neither, but I’m sure someone from here will educate you. At least, that’s what I hope.”
Then Carl comes back into the office with a stack of papers in his hands. He sit
s behind the desk again and puts the papers down in front of Cole. “There we go. I need you to read every single one of these papers and after that, I need you to sign every single one of them.”
Cole takes a very deep breath and replies, “Okay then, well, I guess I better get started then.”
“Yes, it is a lot, I’m sorry. But it is something that has to happen.”
“I know,” Cole replies, as he starts reading and signing the papers.
In the meanwhile, Carl gets them a cup of coffee and the minutes fly by. Cole then finally signs the last paper and shoves all of the papers towards Carl. And while Cole takes a deep relieving breath, he says, “Everything is signed.”
Carl quickly scans through the papers, then gets up and sticks out his hand. Cole gets up as well and shakes hands with Carl. “Congratulations, you are now the new CEO of Packs United Motors, Mr. Harrison.”
With a smile, Cole replies, “Thank you.”
David gets up as well and congratulates Cole. “Alright, shall I give you a quick tour through the building and already introduce you to some of the employees?” Carl asks.
“Sure,” Cole replies.
Carl then shows Cole and David each floor and Cole already introduces himself to most of the employees. After they saw each floor, they return to the office and Cole says, “There really work a lot of people here.”
“That is correct, in fact, so many that we can’t even count them anymore. But anyway, I will see you tomorrow morning at ten. Then I will start training and educate you about all of this and we will prepare your speech for the next day.”
“Speech?” Cole asks.
“Yes, it’s kind of mandatory that the new CEO gives a speech in which he introduces himself, and talks about if there will be any changes in the company, about numbers, statistics and all of that.”
“Great,” Cole sighs.
“Don’t worry, I will make sure that you will be prepared.”
