"Cálmate chica," Kaiah laughed. (Calm down girl)

  "Sorry," Natalia smiled.

"So what if I told you that I was thinking about starting my own business that I wanted you to help me with?"

"Dime lo?" questioned Natalia whit as raised eyebrow. (Tell me what?)

"Un organizador de fiestas." (A party planner)

"Yes baby, let's do it!" Natalia jumped up and down.

"I'm happy you like the idea.” Kaiah laughed. "But it's only under one condition."

"Uh oh, hit me with it."

"You can't work here anymore once we get everything up and running."

"Kaiah, but I—“ Natalia started but was cut off.

"No buts Nati. You have a lot of potential that you need to put to use. Out of all the girls here, I've known you the longest so I know exactly what you're capable of. I will put you up in something myself so you don't have to worry about where you're going to live. I also want you to stop playing and get with Keith. That man wants you girl." Kaiah smiled.

"You're so crazy girl. I can do that for you, but that Keith thing will have to wait," Natalia chuckled.

"Get your crazy ass out of my office."

After Natalia left, she picked up her phone and called someone she hadn't talked to in a while.

"So you remember my number?" Shemar answered.

"Don't be like that. I need a favor," Kaiah said.

"What can I do for you?" he asked.

"Meet up with me for lunch so we can talk about it," Kaiah said nervously.

"Text me the place and the time," Shemar said. After they hung up, Kaiah sent him the information and shut everything down in her office.

  * * *

Kaiah walked into Shake Shack in search of Shemar. She knew that Deonte would flip out if he knew that she was even communicating with him, let alone meeting up with him. She could understand where he was coming from but he needed to understand that they only had sex one time and one time only. If she wanted to sleep with him again she could and there would be nothing that he could do about it.

“Hey, sorry I’m late,” Kaiah said as Shemar stood up to hug her.

“It’s cool,” he said as he hugged her tightly and his hands moved down to her ass and lightly grabbed a handful. Kaiah shivered under his touch and she tried to play it off even though he noticed it.

What Kaiah didn’t know was that Sherae was sitting in the back watching the exchange between Kaiah and Shemar. She didn’t know who Shemar was, but she knew he wasn’t Deonte with his hands all over Kaiah. After taking a picture, she immediately called Deonte to put him up on game.

  “What?” Deonte answered.

“I’m sitting here watching ya girl, I mean wife, hugged up with a nigga that don’t look like you.”

“Why you bullshitting?” Deonte shook his head.

“I just took a picture. I can send it to you if you think I’m lying,” Sherae said, knowing the proof would be in the pudding.

“You do that then,” Deonte said before hanging up on her. He didn’t believe shit Sherae was saying. He knew she just didn’t want him and Kaiah together but that was just too damn bad. Not even two minutes after he hung up with her, a picture message came through on his phone from her. He opened the message and there it was, Shemar hugging Kaiah with his hands all over her ass. Smoke immediately came from his ears.

“So what’s up, I was surprised to hear from you,” Shemar said.

“I know, I’m sorry about how things went down. I just didn’t want to cause any more problems between you and Tae, I think I did enough of that,” Kaiah said.

“I’m not the one with the problem, he is. But that’s his issue not mines,” Shemar said.

“I know but that’s not why I wanted to meet up with you. I’m about to sign back up for school and I know you have your associate’s degree in business and stuff. I was wondering if you could kind of, like, help me out and guide me in the right direction and keep me on the right track with my classes and everything,” Kaiah said nervously. She felt her phone vibrating and looked down to see Deonte calling her. She was about to answer but thought against it and ignored it.

“Hmmm, so what do I get in return?” Shemar smiled as he joked.

Kaiah playfully rolled her eyes. “Niggas always want something in return. Can’t you ever do anything out the kindness of your heart?” She smiled.

“I’m joking lil mama. You know I got you. No doubt.”

Before Kaiah could respond she noticed this look come over Shemar. His eyes got dark and cold. Before she could turn around to see what was wrong, she was being pulled out of her seat by her hair. “Go the fuck home, now!” Deonte roared.

“Nigga, don’t be putting yo fucking hands on her. The fuck wrong with you?” Shemar jumped up in Deonte’s face coming to Kaiah’s defense.

Deonte shoved Kaiah in the direction of the door before he punched Shemar in his jaw. The two went at it, matching blow for blow. Kaiah was stuck, she didn’t know how Deonte knew where she was or why he was acting like this.

“Tae stop, what the fuck is wrong with you?” Kaiah yelled.

“The police have been called,” the manager called out

Deonte stopped fighting Shemar and jacked Kaiah up, pulling her outside to her car. “Take ya ass straight home and I’m not fucking with you,” he said, shoving her into the car.

Deonte followed behind Kaiah all the way home. He was trying his best to calm himself down so he wouldn’t end up putting his hands on her. In the past he never had a problem slapping a couple of bitches around but he never wanted to have to go there with Kaiah. He was pissed that she would still be fucking with that nigga after he told her to leave him the fuck alone.

He was still pissed off about the fact that she had even fucked him in the first place. He knew she was mad and maybe even hurt, but she took it too far when she let another nigga in between her legs. He knew if she did it once she would do it again without hesitation.

When they pulled up to the house, he pulled in the driveway behind Kaiah and got out his truck. Kaiah sat in her car not wanting to get out because she knew shit was about to get real. She pulled her hair into a bun and made sure it was wrapped up tightly. She didn’t know what to expect, but she knew one thing; she knew that if Deonte put his fucking hands on her again they would be having a damn knock-down, drag-out fight.

“Get the fuck out!” Deonte yelled as he walked past her car to the front door.

Kaiah rolled her eyes and got out the car. They walked past Synai and Shauntez who were sitting on the couch looking at them like they were crazy. Kaiah was about to sit down but Deonte spoke up before she could. “The room now, I’m not done talking to you.”

“Look, I don’t give a damn about you being fucking mad. You’re not going to be talking to be like I’m a fucking child,” Kaiah said as she walked towards the stairs.

“Y’all go somewhere and play real quick,” Deonte said as he headed towards the stairs.

Synai looked over at Shauntez with worried eyes. “Tez, do you think we should call Carlos or Kaison?” she asked, knowing how her oldest brother could get. He had a horrible temper that could lead him into a lot of trouble. At a time like this, she was wishing that Uncle Kasey was still here so he could get in the middle of the two. Before Shauntez could even respond, they heard a loud bang from upstairs.

“So you’re really going throw a fucking temper tantrum? That’s a bitch move,” Kaiah said. Deonte threw her up against the wall hard and Kaiah winced a little.

“Do you think this shit is cute? You don’t fucking listen. I told your lil ass to stay the fuck away from that nigga but you couldn’t, could you? What, you still fucking him or something?”

Kaiah drew back her hand and slapped the shit out of him. “Don’t fucking question me on some ol’ insecure type shit. If you would have been taking care of home, we wouldn’t even be going through this shit.”

Deonte grabbed Kaiah by her throat. Sh
e looked up and his eyes turned cold. It was like she didn’t even recognize him. “I’m trying my hardest not to fuck you up but if you keep talking reckless and putting ya damn hands on me, Imma hurt you,” he said before letting her go. He backed up a little while Kaiah grabbed at her throat to catch her breath. She ran over to the dresser and grabbed the lamp off of it before throwing it at his head.

He ducked just in time before it crashed into the wall behind him. Kaiah ran up on him and started swinging wildly. She caught him in the lip. His reflexes reacted quickly and he backhanded her before grabbing her and throwing her on the bed. “Calm the fuck down. You’re not going to fucking win, so you better chill the fuck out.”

“Get the fuck off me!” Kaiah yelled with tears in her eyes. Being pinned down on the bed was bringing flashbacks of when Sammy raped her. She also was hurt because she couldn’t believe that the man she loved would put his hands on her. She knew she was wrong for sneaking behind his back to meet Shemar, but he took the shit to a whole new level.

Carlos and Kaison ran into the room. Shauntez had called them and told them to hurry up and get to the house before one of them got killed. Carlos pulled Deonte off Kaiah while Kaison got his sister. “Get the fuck off me!” she snatched away from Kaison. Kaily walked in the room confused.

“Neither one of yall niggas is shit. Especially this muthafucka right here.” She pointed at Carlos.

“What the fuck you talking about Kaiah?” Carlos asked, still holding Deonte back.

Kaiah just rolled her eyes and walked out the room. Kaily looked at Deonte with a death stare before she walked towards the door. She stopped and looked at him once more. “I love you Deonte, I swear I do, but if you ever, and I do mean ever, put your hands on her again, I’ll kill you,” she said before leaving out the room.

Kaily ran out the house to find Kaiah sitting in her car with Synai holding some ice to her lip. “Kaily tell him to come move his fucking car before I total the bitch!” Kaiah yelled.

“D-Boy, Kaiah said move your car before she fucks it up,” Kaily yelled.

"Matter of fact, move Kaily," Kaiah said as she put her car in drive and drove up on the lawn. She drove over the curb until she got in the street and sped off, burning rubber in the process. She didn't know if she was more hurt or angry over the situation. Of course she and Deonte had their share of arguments, but this time it went too far. She felt like he should have asked questions instead of assuming shit and just lashing out like that. She was also wondering how the hell he even knew where she was. The Deonte she saw was not the Deonte that she fell in love with and she knew that things between them now would be different.

  11

Deonte had been calling Kaiah for a week straight but she was looping his calls. Once again, they got into a little disagreement and she called herself moving out, again. He was tired of going through the motions with Kaiah. Shauntez and Synai were acting like he was the bad guy because Kaiah was hurt. He was pissed, more so at himself than anyone else.

He was mad because he allowed his anger to get the best of him and control his actions. Never in a million years would he have ever thought that he would put his hands on Kaiah. True, in the past he might have slapped a couple of females, but Kaiah was different. He felt like shit for what he did and he knew that no matter what he did or said, it wouldn't make up for his actions.

Since Synai was so pissed at him, she had been staying with Kaiah and Shauntez was never home, so he was sitting in the house moping and smoking his brains and lungs out. There was a knock at the door so he got up to answer it. In walked Carlos and Sherae.

"What up nigga? Kaily went to see Kaiah and Synai to male bash us so I came over to female bash," Carlos laughed.

"Man, I'm scared to leave the house and shit. Uncle Sneaky and Pops got a hit out on my head," Deonte joked.

"I bet. Did you see her fucking lip?" Carlos said as he let out a whistle and shook his head.

"I don't even wanna think about it, let alone talk about it," Deonte said, feeling guilty. "What you come to do?" he asked Sherae.

"I came to check on you and see how you were doing. I didn't think shit would blow up like this."

"Do you even care?" Deonte laughed.

"Not really because I don't like the bitch anyways." Sherae smiled. "I hope she left her ring and coming to get the rest of her shit."

"You wild, man. You ain't got no reason not to like her."

"Since the first day I walked through that door, she been acting stank towards me. She act stuck the fuck up," Sherae said with her nose scrunched up.

"Aye, I'm about to step outside for a minute," Carlos said.

Sherae walked over and sat by Deonte. "Really though, what did you even see in her?" she asked. She was happy that Kaiah and Deonte were into it. She felt like Deonte should be with her anyways. He was the only man that she had ever truly loved and she wanted that old thing back, but Kaiah was standing in their way.

"Don't even try it, Sherae. I know exactly what you're doing but drop it. I love Kaiah to death. I gave that girl my last name and ain't shit I wouldn't so for her."

"Funny, I remember you saying those exact same words to me. There was nothing you wouldn't do for me and how I was going to carry your last name," Sherae said with an attitude.

"Sherae, I was young as fuck when I said that shit!"

"Does it matter? You still said it and now you wanna sing that same song to a different bitch. All this was supposed to be us Deonte. Now you act like I don't even mean shit to you," Sherae said, feeling some type of way about the way Deonte had been treating her.

"Look, Sherae, I'm not about to sit up here and act like I never said those things or try to act like I never loved you. I was fucking seventeen or eighteen years old when I said that shit. It wasn't shit I wouldn't have done for you, but you up and moved away on a nigga. What did you expect me to do? Wait on you?" Deonte asked.

  "Yes, I really did."

"You're crazy dude," Deonte shook his head.

"I'm not gon sit here and act like this shit is easy for me because it's not. You were the first boy I ever loved and to see you saying the same shit to her that you said to me hurts," Sherae said before getting up and walking out the house.

Deonte let his head fall back before letting out deep sigh. He was trying to figure out how all of a sudden everyone was mad at him. Carlos walked in and laughed.

"Don't laugh nigga, don't think I didn't know that was a set up. You did that shit on purpose," Deonte said.

"Now that we got that out of the way, be ready tomorrow around nine because Sherae moving into her own house and we're helping her move." Carlos winked before leaving out.

  * * *

Deonte couldn't sleep. Kaiah was on his mind and she was on his mind heavy. He threw on some basketball shorts, a wife beater and his Nike sandals, and he was on his way to talk to her. He didn't give a damn about how late it was. Carlos already told him that Synai was staying with them for the night, so he thought it was the perfect opportunity for them to talk.

He made it to her house in twenty minutes, he saw her bedroom light on so he knew she was up. He walked up to the door and before he could even knock, the door came open. "What do you want Deonte? It's two o'clock in the morning," Kaiah asked standing in the doorway.

"Can I come in?" he asked.

Kaiah looked behind her then back at him. "I'm busy," she said.

He noticed that she only had on a cami and boy shorts. He was praying to God that she didn't have another nigga in here with her. Trying to contain his anger, he pushed through the door. Kaiah just shook her head.

"Okay, you're in, so talk," Kaiah said.

"I think we need to take a little break and spend some time away from each other," Deonte said. He had thought long and hard about this decision. What he did was really eating him up and he hated the fact that he hurt her. He didn't want to hurt her any more so he thought a little break from each other would be good for the both of t
hem.

"I know you didn't come all the way over here to tell me some shit I was doing anyways. I agree with you one hundred percent. We need to just chill out because that shit that happened between us wasn't even cool," Kaiah said.

"I agree. I know that no matter what I say or do, it won't make up for what I did but I do want you to know how sorry I really am. That shit was not supposed to happen. I never wanted to be the nigga to put my hands on you."

Kaiah just shrugged her shoulders, she didn't really feel like having this conversation with him. She was over it and there was no need to keep bringing it up. Suddenly Deonte was getting sleepy. "You mind if I crash here?"

"Yea, I kind of do," Kaiah said.

"Girl, please." He waved her off. "I'll sleep on the couch or in the other bedroom."

"I don't care what you do, D-Boy," Kaiah rolled her eyes and headed for the stairs.

"Don't call me that, man," he said, watching her ass as they went up the stairs.

"Why not fool, that's your name."

"Since the first day I met you, you've either called me Deonte or Tae. Stick to that." He slapped her ass.

"Whatever dude," Kaiah said as she slammed her bedroom door in his face.

Kaiah was sleeping good when she thought she was having a wet dream. It wasn't until she almost let out a moan that she realized that she wasn't dreaming. She smirked in the darkness at Deonte. Only he would come in and give her some head while she was sleeping. She felt her leg tremble and let out a moan at the same time her juices gushed out.

Deonte slurped and cleaned up all her juices. He couldn't resist, he would be crazy as hell to spend the night and not get at least a taste. "Don't try to act like you ain't like it," he said.

"Now get out!" Kaiah said as she rolled over and went back to sleep. She went to sleep with a smile on her face, thinking he might be good for something.

  12

Kaiah was fixing her some breakfast and watching the news when a report caught her eyes.

"I'm Caroline Jakes and we have some breaking news right out of Miami Beach. Authorities say that a body was found at a barbershop here in Miami Beach. The body belonged to the shop’s owner, Shemar Kyles. The MBPD say they were got a tip about gunshots being heard in the area. When they got here, they found the victim’s body on the ground of his office with a bullet hole in the back of his head. It seems that he was shot execution style. Right now the police don’t have any leads or suspects..."
