Sebastian tries to defend himself, “I can explain why I purchased those.” But before he has the opportunity to give his explanation Cynthia interrupts, all the while knowing that he’d have a simple and innocent reason for the purchases.
“I hope so Sebastian! I’d hate to think you’re off gallivanting around town with other women!”
Sebastian‘s face becomes quite flushed. He opens the palms of his hands and his cheeks wobble from his head moving side to side in rapid motion, “No! It’s not like that at all! You know me, I’d never…..” He brings his explanation to an abrupt halt when he sees her face change from a solemn glare to a cheeky grin. He realises he’s been had and says, “You know something Cynthia; it’s sometimes easier to deal with devious criminal minds and killers than get on the wrong side of you!” She smiles at him and promises, “You better believe it, Sebastian Cork. I’m keeping a close eye on you!”
He smiles back, “I guess someone has to.”
