“What made them release you?” Asha questioned, ignoring his sarcasm.

“My mama had to put up her house,” Randy replied.

“Do you have to go back to court and stuff?” Asha asked him.

“What do you think Asha? I’m not off the hook with this shit. I need to hook up with a real estate agent and try to sell my shop. I need a damn good attorney and I’ll need the money,” Randy replied.

“We don’t have much money in the safe at the house,” Asha noted.

“We should have at least ten grand in there,” Randy said while looking over at her.

“It’s probably a little less than that now,” Asha replied.

“How? All the bills are paid up for the next two months. What other reason did you have to touch it?” Randy questioned.

“I had to buy a few things. I’m getting big as a house, just in case you didn’t notice,” Asha said while rubbing her tiny four-month pregnant belly.

She had entered her fourth month the day before and she could barely fit any of her clothes anymore.

“A nigga was in jail and you were out here shopping!” Randy barked.

“You better lower your fucking voice nigga. You must have me confused with the next bitch,” Asha said.

“Where’s the paternity test? I’m sure you should have gotten the results by now,” he replied.

Asha reached into her purse as she drove and pulled out an opened envelope. She handed it to Randy and watched as he opened it and read the results.

“Wow. So, you used my money to buy maternity clothes for a baby that ain’t even mine. Why didn’t you call that nigga to ask for some money?” Randy questioned.

“I went shopping before I knew what the results were. But, no worries, I won’t be needing your money for anything that pertains to my baby ever again. That’s Cam’s job now,” Asha said with a triumphant smile.

Asha and her mother jumped for joy when the test results came back naming Cam as the father. He’d finally unblocked Asha’s number and agreed to begin accompanying her to her doctor’s appointment. Asha was happy to be giving him his first child and she knew without a doubt that she and Cam were gonna be back together. Their baby was going to be the thing that reunited them.

“Take me to my shop. I need to make a few calls,” Randy said, seemingly angry.

Asha knew that he was pissed about the baby’s paternity, but she didn’t give a damn.

“You sure you don’t wanna make a trip to the barber shop first? You can use a cut and trim,” Asha pointed out.

“Man, fuck a cut and trim. My freedom is on the line and you act like you don’t even care,” Randy argued.

“You act like there’s something that I can do about it.”

“All this shit is your fault anyway. You were the one who insisted on me dealing with that nigga Lo in the first place. I don’t blame Cam for not doing that shit no more,” Randy fumed.

“Nigga, I didn’t put no gun to your damn head. You didn’t have to do nothing that you didn’t want to do. Don’t fault me because shit didn’t work out like you wanted it to,” Asha replied.

“You can’t be serious right now. You were on my back for months about that shit. You weren’t saying all that when you were decorating the condo that you wanted and doing all that shopping. That nigga Cam was right. Your ass is selfish as fuck!” Randy yelled.

“Fuck you and fuck Camden. I was straight before I met y’all and I’ll be straight afterwards,” Asha replied as she rubbed her stomach for emphasis.

Her unborn child was her meal ticket, so she was good for a while. She was a bad bitch and it wouldn’t be hard for her to find another sponsor. Asha pulled up to Randy’s shop and couldn’t wait for his whining ass to get out of her car. What she ever saw in him remained a mystery to her.

“I’m happy to know how you really feel about a nigga. And you might want to make some other living arrangements. All my money is going on attorney’s fees and I can’t afford to pay no rent,” Randy said before he got out of the car and slammed her door.

“Fuck boy,” Asha said as she pulled off and drove away.

She didn’t care about Randy being in his feelings and she didn’t give a damn about him giving up the condo. Cam would just have to find her and their baby somewhere else to live, even if it was at the home that he’d inherited from his father. He still had the apartment that he and Asha once shared, so she would be satisfied living there too. Randy thought he was hurting her, but he was doing her a favor.

  Chapter 26

Demi moaned, happy that the music drowned out the sound of yet another orgasm. She lost count of how many she’d had, but she wasn’t complaining. Her palms were flat up against the wall, while her red bridesmaids dress bunched at her waist. Cam was behind her with his strong hands pulling her back into him. Demi’s eyes fluttered in her head and her weave was damp with sweat. She hadn’t done anything wrong, but Cam was pushing her kitty like she had.

“Don’t make me cum again Cam. You’re killing me,” Demi whimpered while looking back at him.

“I’m trying to make sure you die happy,” Cam said as he smacked her ass.

His stamina always amazed her because he could go for a while without breaking a sweat. Demi was always a tired mess afterwards and he would be playing his game like it was nothing.

“You cumming baby?” Demi asked him.

“Yeah, I’m about to,” Cam said while throwing his head back and biting his bottom lip. He was never very vocal during sex, but Demi had learned to read his body language.

“I needed that shit,” Cam said as he kissed the back of Demi’s neck.

Cam had been stressed out lately. Since finding out that he was the father of Asha’s baby, she had been a pain in his ass. Cam had finally moved into his house, and Asha was trying to get him to keep the apartment for her. If the baby had been born when she asked, he probably would have done it with no problem. Asha was always looking for a come up and Cam knew that she was going to use their child to do it.

“Help me out of this dress Cam,” Demi said as she lifted her arms over her head.

  “Why?” Cam questioned.

“Stop playing, you know why,” Demi replied.

“Hell no, Demi. We’re in a fucking storage closet with mops and buckets, and you’re trying to get flipped,” Cam fussed.

“You make me sick,” Demi pouted as she stomped her foot.

“Baby, we snuck away from your sister’s wedding reception. We don’t have that kind of time on our hands,” Cam reasoned.

“Okay, but you owe me, Camden. I need a stress reliever after dealing with your stupid ass baby mama,” Demi fussed.

Asha was the dumbest bitch that she’d ever had the displeasure of meeting. She called Cam all day and night and she never wanted anything. She was using that pregnancy like a crutch, just like Cam said she would. If she was hungry at 5 in the morning, Asha picked up the phone and called, as if he would be dumb enough to bring her something to eat.

“I got you, baby. I’ll have you flipped upside down until all your blood rushes to your head and you pass out,” Cam laughed.

“Shut up and clean yourself up,” Demi said as she handed him a wipe from her purse.

“Summer’s Eve!” Cam yelled. “I’m not using this shit!”

“That’s all I have Cam. You either use it or walk out of here smelling like sex,” Demi said as she tossed the wipe that she had just used in the trash can.

“I’ll take my chances,” Cam said while handing the small packet back to her.

“No, the hell you’re not,” Demi replied.

She ripped the packet open and pulled the wipe out. Cam fussed at her for being too rough, as she roughly wiped his semi-hard erection with the floral scented wipe. He really went off when she pulled out some spray and sprayed a little on them both.

“The fuck, Demi? You got me smelling like the perfume counter at Macy’s,” Cam argued.

  “It’s bette
r than smelling like sweaty pussy. Now, shut up and let’s sneak back in,” Demi replied.

“Wait a second. My mama is calling,” Cam said, right before answering the phone. “Yeah, Ma.”

“Why did I have to hear from Courtney that you were in a wedding Camden? I would have wanted to be there to see my baby walking down the aisle,” Nora fussed as soon as he answered the phone.

“This was a last-minute thing that Demi’s sister asked me to do, Ma. I couldn’t invite nobody to her wedding like that. And how did Courtney know?” Cam questioned.

“That’s what the hell I wanna know,” Demi mumbled, exciting Cam with her feisty attitude.

“She was there. Her husband’s cousin is the groom,” Nora replied.

“Oh, but I’m sorry Ma. I’ll send you some pictures, so you can see how nice your boy cleans up,” Cam joked.

“Okay, send them now Camden. I’m going put them up on Facebook,” Nora replied.

“I told you to stop putting my pictures up for everybody to see,” Cam said.

“And I told you that I’m grown. Go have fun and tell Demi that I said hello,” Nora said before she hung up.

Cam and Demi had finally met each other’s parents. He had a gathering at his house when he moved, and Demi’s mother and her boyfriend attended. Demi finally made up her mind to move in with him, after he bribed her with the hot tub that he had installed. Asha got on her nerves, but they were good for the most part. Cam loved her being there, but it bothered him that they had never made things official. It wasn’t a roommate situation like they originally discussed. He and Demi slept in the same bed every single night. They shared space like a couple, but it was never determined what they were to each other. He referred to Demi as his girl to other people, but that had just become a habit.

“I hope I don’t have to lay hand on this stalking bitch tonight,” Demi said, referring to Courtney.

“What kind of ghetto ass attorney are you? Always talking about fighting and shit,” Cam said as he grabbed her hand and rejoined the reception guests.

He and Demi were both in need of a drink, so he went to the bar while she sat down at their table. The line for the bar was long, but Cam didn’t mind.

“It looks like she’s happy. Good dick will do it every time. You smell just like her too,” Courtney said as she snuck up behind Cam.

“Get the fuck on Courtney. I don’t need your husband coming over here on no bullshit. I’m not trying to ruin my girl’s sister’s wedding,” Cam replied.

“Oh, so she’s your girl now,” Courtney commented.

“Chill out Courtney. I thought you said fuck me and my friendship,” Cam reminded her.

“I was wrong Cam and I apologize. We were friends for too many years for us not to even speak at all. You don’t even answer my calls anymore,” Courtney noted.

“That’s because I don’t have time for the drama Courtney. You know I don’t do all that arguing and shit. I want us to remain friends, but all the extra is a no go,” Cam informed her.

“I understand Cam and I have to respect that,” Courtney replied.

“I would give you a hug since we squashed our beef, but I don’t want to have to put your husband to sleep again,” Cam laughed.

“Yeah, and your girl is looking like she’s ready to fight,” Courtney said, making Cam look over at Demi and blow her a kiss.

“Yes bitch, that nigga is fine as hell. He better stop blowing kisses before I think he’s blowing them at me,” Savoy said as she took a seat next to Demi.

“Go find your husband and leave my man alone,” Demi replied with a roll of her eyes.

She hadn’t been around Savoy for a minute and that proved to be just what she needed. She was going through too much and she didn’t need the negativity in her life. Demi’s sisters had met Cam, but Savoy’s first time seeing him was when they had practice two days before. She flirted with him in a sly way, but Demi shut her all the way down.

“Bitch, you can’t talk about me no more. I’m not the only one with a husband and a nigga on the side,” Savoy chuckled sarcastically.

“I’m nothing like you, honey. Kamari and I are not together, not that it’s any of your business,” Demi snapped.

“What’s with the attitude?” Savoy asked her cousin.

“I don’t have an attitude. I just don’t have time for your negativity. Keep your comments and opinions to yourself and we’re good,” Demi replied, right as Cam walked back over.

“Please don’t make me have to cut you and that bitch,” Demi whispered to him with a loving smile.

“Calm down bride of chucky. It’s not even like that. She was just apologizing for what she said the last time we talked,” Cam informed her.

“I know that you’ve been knowing her for a while and I don’t have a problem with y’all being friends. She just needs to know that her benefits card has expired,” Demi noted.

“That’s already been understood. I’m not into playing games and I told you that. And you can’t get in your feelings about nothing anyway. Like seriously Demi, what are we doing here?” Cam asked, ready to get some understanding about the nature of their relationship.

Demi was about to answer, until Savoy jumped up and threw her purse and phone on her lap.

“Watch my shit cousin. That’s my song!” Savoy yelled when the DJ started playing Back that ass up by Juvenile.

She ran to the middle of the dance floor, along with a lot of other women. Some of the men pulled out their phones, ready to record some asses shaking.

“Man, look at your sister. She’s about to back it up right out of her wedding dress,” Cam laughed when he looked over at Imani.

“That’s our shit. We used to tear the dance floor up whenever that song came on,” Demi said as she threw her hands in the air and bounced in her seat.

“Don’t get fucked up Demi. You ain’t backing shit up until you get home,” Cam fussed.

Demi wanted to mess with him, so she stood up and turned her back to him. Cam held on to her small waist, as Demi backed it up on him while he sat down in the chair. Cam closed his eyes, as Demi swayed back and forth to the beat.

“Let me leave you alone before your nature starts to rise.” Demi chuckled.

“Too late,” Cam said, as Demi went back to her seat.

She dropped Savoy’s phone on the floor, but Cam grabbed it before she bent down to get it. Once he handed it back to her, Demi felt it vibrating in her hand. A text message was coming through that made Demi pause and read it. Her name was being mentioned in the message and she wanted to know why. The number was familiar to her, but she couldn’t think of where she’d seen it before. Demi and her sisters all knew that Savoy’s password was her deceased father’s birthday, so she entered it and read through her text messages. Demi’s pressure rose to dangerous levels as she read through the message thread to see exactly how the conversation had started.

After seeing more than enough, Demi walked away, in search of the snake who she also called cousin and friend.

“Where are you going?” Cam asked when he saw her leaving their table.

Demi ignored him as she walked through the crowd and parted it like it was the Red Sea. She spotted Savoy backing it up on some random nigga, like her husband wasn’t in the same room. She looked up at Demi and smiled, but that smile faded when her cousin grabbed her hair and dragged her off the dance floor.

“Let me go Demi! What the hell are you doing?” Savoy yelled as she tried to pry Demi’s hand from her scalp.

The DJ cut the music and people started moving out of the way, giving Cam a perfect view of what was going on.

“Fuck!” Cam yelled as he jumped over tables and chairs, trying to stop Demi from beating the brakes off her cousin.

Demi didn’t look like nobody’s attorney the way she had Savoy in a head lock, slamming her fist into her face. Cam found it strange that Imani and Isis stood right there and watched, but never made a move to stop it.

&nb
sp; “Bitch, keep my muthafucking name out your mouth hoe!” Demi yelled, hitting Savoy with each word that she spoke.

“Baby, chill, come on; let her go,” Cam said as he lifted Demi high up in the air.

Savoy’s mouth was leaking blood and one of her eyes was almost closed. Demi was rowdy, another side of her that Cam was seeing for the first time but loved just the same. She was screaming obscenities to the top of her lungs, as he carried her to the other side of the room. Imani and Isis were right behind them, trying to make sure that their little sister was okay.

“What the hell happened?” Imani asked as soon as they were alone.

“I’m sorry for ruining your wedding sis, but that bitch got me fucked up!” Demi fumed.

“Girl, you didn’t ruin a damn thing. We’re all leaving soon because we’ve only got another hour left with the hall,” Imani replied.

  “What happened sis?” Isis questioned.

“That bitch has been telling Lawrence and Kamari my business. I was holding her phone when a text message came through. I couldn’t remember where I knew that number from, until I went through all the messages and figured out that it was Lawrence. She’s the reason that Kamari knew where me and Cam were at the day he rolled up on us. That bitch must still be fucking Lawrence,” Demi rambled in anger.

Demi was pissed when she saw the messages between her cousin and her husband’s best friend. Apparently, Savoy saw Demi and Cam outside the restaurant once and she’d been running her mouth ever since. She even told Lawrence about Cam taking Kamari’s place in Imani’s wedding. Demi was so happy that she hadn’t told Savoy any of her business because she would be fucked if she did, all behind some dick.

“I feel like going back over there and slapping that hoe right in her dick suckers,” Imani said angrily.

“Y’all calm down. Demi already half killed the girl,” Cam replied.

“Let me go talk to mama, Imani. I’m sure she’s wondering what’s going on,” Isis said.

“You ready to burn out Mayweather?” Cam asked Demi.

“Yeah, I’ll call y’all later or tomorrow sis. And tell your mama that I’m sorry,” Demi said while hugging her sister.
