Geminae Page 13

by Alan Richards

“The next one will be between your legs. Where is Letitia?”

  “She will kill me.”

“I will kill you if you don’t tell me. She will never know who gave her up.”

“If I tell you, you will have to kill her. It’s the only way I will be safe.”

“I promise you, I will be killing her myself. Now the location.”

“She is in Dubai. A villa in the Dubai Hills complex.”

  “Good, thank you.”

  “Is that it?”

“Yes, I promised you I would leave here with you still alive if you gave me the information I needed and I am a woman of my word.”

Alexa walked out of the bedroom and ran up the stairs to the main deck. She took her rucksack from her back, placed the equipment she had removed before entering the yacht back into it and swung it onto her back. She left the yacht by the walkway to the jetty, scanned the area but saw no one. The jetty and surrounding yachts were all empty. She waited until she had walked around the jetty to the entrance before taking her SiS issued phone from her trouser pocket. Bringing up the app she waited for the bluetooth to pair with the charges before pressing the fire button. Within seconds two large explosions rocked the jetty. She could see shards of the yacht flying into the air. After a minute or so the yacht started to list and then disappear into the ocean. Boris wouldn’t survive, the fact he had been shot in both legs would mean he couldn’t move from the bed never mind swim. She had promised she would leave him alive in the bedroom, she never made any promises about leaving him alive when she left the yacht.

She watched as the yacht disappeared below the waterline, turned and walked away. She had a plane to catch.

  April

Alexa was back on the beach watching Sofia and Rosarita playing with Copper. She found it relaxing to watch the children playing, she could cast off the shrouds of the people she had killed. She was no other person than she needed to be for Jane and her children, she wasn’t planning or preparing for her next job, she was just a mother.

“What are you thinking about?” asked Jane as she sat down beside her on the concrete breakwater that separated the beach from the homes that ran along it’s length.

  “Nothing, absolutely nothing,” Alexa replied.

  “Are you sure?”

“Yes, I come here to relax and watch the children, nothing else.”

  “Have you spoken with Vladimir?”

“No, there’s no point I have nothing to tell him yet.”

  “Nothing?”

“Not yet, yes we know Letitia is in Dubai... yes we know where her villa is but since the house has been under surveillance no one has seen her go in or out.”

“She could be hold up inside.”

“She thinks she is untouchable, she thinks she got away with murdering my brother and Darya.”

  “They will find her.”

“I know they will and for now I just have to be patient.”

Jane leaned in and kissed her on the cheek.

“I’m going back to the house. Don’t let the girls play for too long, they have School in the morning.”

Alexa nodded her head as Jane left.

Alexa knew she had to be patient, she knew the SiS team were working hard in finding Letitia but patience was not one of her strongest traits. She wanted revenge for her brother, for Darya, for Adrian, for everyone that Letitia had murdered or destroyed in her hunt for power; for it was power that Letitia craved.

Her moment would come and when it did she would make sure that Letitia suffered.
