Cathy’s jaw dropped, and she ran over to Brianna and took hold of her hand. “Are you serious? You two are engaged? Congratulations. That makes you really my sister now. Oh Brianna, this is wonderful.”
Brianna had finally stopped, and she was smiling at her best friend.
“Scott, why didn’t you tell me you were planning this?” Cathy looked shocked at her brother.
“I was worried you would spill the beans.”
Cathy smacked him on the shoulder.
“I think we should call our parents and tell them the good news,” Brianna suggested.
“Yes, you’re right. They are probably waiting on pins and needles.” Scott carefully set her aside and stood and stretched a little.
“Our parents know, like yours as well as mine?” Brianna couldn’t believe that he had told her parents that.
“Of course, I had to ask your dad for your hand in marriage before I asked you.” Scott smiled to himself. He had done everything just right. A little old fashion, but that was just how he was.
