Giving A Chance (Chance Series Book 2) Page 10

by Hamford, Kacey

She stepped away from me, looking over her shoulder. “Where’s Sas?”

I looked around and saw that she was talking to Marcy at the table. “Over there. Come on.” We walked over towards everyone and said our goodbyes and thanked everyone for such an amazing couple of days. Bonnie was a bit sad to say goodbye to the girls, she had formed a bond with them in such a short time. She and Saskia had exchanged numbers and agreed to meet up when the tour was over. I was eager to get my girl out of there and against a solid wall, my cock was throbbing and it was getting uncomfortable. We stepped outside and Flix’s car was waiting for us.

“Can I give you two a lift?” The driver asked.

“Whoa.” Bonnie said, grabbing my arm.

  “You ok, sweetness?”

“Yeah, I guess I had more to drink than I thought. I feel dizzy.”

“Let’s get you into the car. That would be great. Thanks.” We climbed in and Bonnie placed her head on my shoulder and closed her eyes.

  ***

Bonnie didn’t wake up after the twenty minute car ride, so I picked her up gently from the car and carried her to the hotel room. There goes my wall sex, I was going to need a very cold shower. I placed her down on the bed and slipped her shoes off. I unzipped the back of her dress and pulled it off over her head, which woke her up.

“Where are we?” She whispered, sleepily.

“Back at the hotel.” I pulled my t-shirt off over my head.

“Mmm, are we gonna fuck now?” She asked rubbing her legs together.

“No, you need to sleep.” I sat her up so I could pull the covers back for her. She swayed slighty.

“Oh, God.” She moaned and ran for the bathroom. Within seconds I could hear her throwing up. I ran in after her, grabbed her hair and pulled it out of the way. I reached behind me to the sink where I saw a hair tie, I attempted to tie her hair at the back of her neck. It wasn’t great but it wouldn’t get in her way now.

“You ok?” She shook her head, the movement caused her to throw up again and this time the smell and the sound of her gagging made my stomach roll and I dashed for the sink and began emptying the contents of my stomach.

“Babe?” She asked, looking up at me and wiping her mouth.

  “I’m ok. Have you finished?”

“I think so. I feel rough though.”

“Shower or straight to bed?” I offered her my hand and pulled her up off of the floor.

“I don’t think I can stand in a shower, I think I need to pass out.” She giggled. “I’m sorry, I didn’t mean to drink so much. Are we leaving tomorrow?”

“Yeah, we both got classes on Wednesday. So we have tomorrow to recover. We don’t have to leave until two in the afternoon though.”

“Good. I’m just going to rinse my mouth out and use the toilet.” I rinsed my mouth out straight after I threw up, I hate the taste of stale alcohol. I climbed into bed, leaving my boxers on. The last thing Bonnie needed was my manhood poking her, though throwing up sure had calmed it down. The bathroom door opened and Bonnie walked towards the bed undoing her bra and throwing it on the floor. She looked sexy as hell but I knew she felt rough. I didn’t want to take her home and have to share her with Matt again. I wondered if she had heard from him since we had been here? I still wasn’t convinced I was the right choice for her, my head said I wasn’t, but my heart said I was.

  Chapter 19

  Bonnie

“Oh, God.” I moaned. I couldn’t open my eyes the sensations flowing through my body was too much.

“You ok, sweetness?” Joseph panted. I opened my eyes and Joseph was covered in sweat.

“Where have you been?” I tried sitting up by stomach rolled and I had to fight the sickness feeling.

  “Out for a run.”

“How are you not hungover?” I pulled the duvet up to cover my body, I was freezing cold.

“I didn’t drink as much as some people.” He chuckled. “Do you want a shower?”

“Do I have time for a bath? I’m freezing cold.”

“Cold? It’s lovely and warm out there. You sure you’re ok?” He placed his hand on my face.

  “Maybe I’m still hungover.”

“You stay there and I’ll run you a bath. How’s your head?” He asked from the bathroom. I heard the water running and I attempted to get out of bed.

“My head is killing me.” I stood up and felt dizzy so I lowered myself back down onto the bed.

“Here, take these.” He handed me some pain killers and a glass of water. I placed the pills on my tongue and drank some water, tipping my head back to help the pills go down. “You should probably eat something too. I’ll order room service. What do you want?”

“Just some toast will be good.” I slipped my panties off, the only item of clothing I had worn to bed last night.

“Come on, I’ll help you.” Every time I stood up I got dizzy and thought I was going to be sick again. Joseph helped me in the bath and it felt like heaven. I didn’t understand why I felt so cold.

  “You joining me?”

“Na, I’m all sweaty. I’m gonna jump in the shower and then order breakfast.” I nodded, closed my eyes and enjoyed the feeling of the warmth that surrounded me. I heard the shower turn on and couldn’t resist opening my eyes and watching my man shower. My man? Where did that come from? Did I want Joseph? Was that me making my decision? I hadn’t heard from Matt at all since Saturday night, not that I could blame him. I was a bit harsh with him. I would wait until I saw Matt and see how I reacted to him. But I was pretty sure that Joseph was the one for me. He had been great these last couple of days, I saw a side of him that I bet no-one else saw. He had been attentive, always putting me first and I’d had so much fun. Would it always be like this though? I would see how the rest of our week was and then it was the all important decision to make.

  “Feeling any better?”

“The warmth is good, but the water is making my stomach churn. What’s wrong with me? I’ve never been hungover like this before.”

“Do you want to get out?”

“Yes, but I need to wash my hair.”

“Scoot forward and lie back and I’ll help.” I lay back and Joseph ran his hands through my hair under the water to make sure it was all wet. “Sit up.” He helped me up and then he lathered my hair with shampoo, massaging my scalp.

  “Mmm, that feels good.”

“Sweetness, don’t make those noises. My not so little guy thinks he is in for a treat.” I couldn’t help but laugh. I loved his phrase ‘Not so little guy’ Joseph definitely wasn’t small in that department. “Lie back down.” He ran his hands through my hair making sure all the shampoo was out. “Do you want it conditioned?”

“No, it will be ok for one day.” He nodded and stood up. I saw that his towel was slightly tented. “Is someone happy to see me?” I nodded at his towel.

“He’s always happy to see you. Now, let’s get you out of the bath and get some food into your stomach.” He helped me out and wrapped a towel around my body and used a smaller towel to dry my hair. “Put this on for now.” He held out a dressing gown and I slipped my arms into it. It was soft and fluffy and felt nice against my skin.

  Knock. Knock.

“That will be the food.” He walked towards the door and I sat at the small table in the room that had two chairs. He placed a plate of toast in front of me and my stomach growled, I felt hungry but my stomach was still doing somersaults. I spread a little bit of butter onto the toast as I couldn’t eat it dry.

  “Coffee?”

“Tea, please. Milky with two sugars.” I took a bite of the toast and my stomach jumped. I placed the toast back down and willed my stomach to calm down. “I don’t feel well.” I got up and walked to the bathroom. I sat on the floor beside the toilet just in case I needed to be sick.

“You ok?” Joseph called from the bedroom.

“Stay out there, we don’t want a repeat performance of last night.” I thought I was feeling bette
r so I went to stand up and my stomach sunk and I had to lift the toilet seat as fast as I could and threw up again. After my stomach was empty, again, I sat back on my heels and took some deep breaths. I rinsed out my mouth and walked back into the bedroom. Joseph was immediately beside me pulling me against his chest.

  “Any more to come up?”

I shook my head. “There can’t be.”

“Shall we make a move home? Are you going to be ok to travel?” I nodded, wanting to be some place comfortable and warm. “You still cold?” I nodded again, burying my face into his chest. “Go and lie down, wrap the duvet around you while I pack up our stuff.”

  ***

“We’re here. Bonnie.” I heard Joseph. I opened my eyes, I didn’t remember much of the journey I must have fallen asleep quite quickly.

“Where are we?” I asked groggily.

  “The doctors.”

“What? Why are we here?” I sat up and looked around.

“I just want to get you checked out. You shouldn’t still be feeling like this if it’s just a hangover. You shouldn’t be shivering and I’m worried about you being dehydrated.”

“Ok, but I look awful.” I told him, running my hand through my hair trying to flatten it down.

  “You look beautiful.”

“You’re very sweet.” I said, running my hand over his stubble on his chin. “I’m sure it’s nothing.”

“Let’s go and check.” He jumped out of the car and ran around to my side to help me out. I still felt a little dizzy and cold. We walked into reception and I sat down as Joseph booked me in. Why was he so worried? I’m sure it was just a hangover but it was lovely to know how much he cared about me.

“You’re next.” He said, sitting down next to me and grabbing my hand.

  “Miss Andrews?” Joseph stood up.

“What are you doing?” I asked him.

“Coming in with you. You have been dizzy, I’m not leaving you.”

“Ok.” I said, quietly. Joseph placed his arm around me and helped me walk towards the doctor.

“Just this way.” She said and led us to an exam room. We walked in and both sat down. “How can I help you?”

“I had a few drinks last night, threw up when I got home. I woke up this morning dizzy and really cold. Threw up again when I tried to eat. I told him it was probably just a hangover…”

“I wanted to make sure she wasn’t dehydrated too.” He interrupted me.

“Ok, is there any chance you could be pregnant?”

“No.” I answered and Joseph held my hand.

  “Why do you say that?”

“I’m always careful and I’m on the pill.”

  “When was your last period?”

“I’m due for it next week.”

  “I would like to do a pregnancy test just to be sure.” She handed me a sample jar and pointed me the way to the bathroom. This was silly, I wasn’t pregnant, I couldn’t get pregnant easily. I did it just to keep her quiet. I walked back into the room and handed her the sample. She placed a white stick into the liquid and we waited. After what felt like ages she said;

“It’s negative.” I breathed a sigh of relief. That would have not been good timing.

“I will just do a couple of tests.” The doctor asked me several more questions and ran some tests.

“I’m sorry, I’m going to be sick again.” The doctor quickly ushered me to her private bathroom and I threw up again. At this point I was wishing for the day to be over just so I would be feeling better. I could hear Joseph asking her questions.

  “Miss Andrews, are you ok?”

“Yes, thank you. Sorry.” I said as I walked out of the bathroom. I was shivering and Joseph got up to help me walk again.

“You have a virus, you’re also dehydrated. I will write you a prescription for some anti-biotics; take all of them.” I nodded. “I will also prescribe some anti-sickness tablets to help you get some fluids into you. You will need to drink water, small sips and often.”

“Ok. Thanks for seeing me.” I stood up and had to hold on to the side of the chair to stop myself from falling back down.

“I’ve got you. Thanks doc.” Joseph wound his arm around my waist and we walked back to the car. “We’ll stop at the chemist to get this.” He held up my prescriptions, “and then we can get you into bed.”

“Thank you. You should probably take me home so I don’t make you ill.”

“No, you’re coming to stay with me.” He began rifling through his bag that was on the back seat. “Here, put this on.” He handed me a hoody and I looked at him. “To keep you warm. You are still shivering.” He put his seat belt on and we headed off to get my prescriptions.

  Chapter 20

  Joseph

Bonnie was tucked under my arm, her head on my chest and her arm around my waist as we walked slowly towards the flat door. It was unlocked and I pushed it open.

“Oh, you’re home!” Rose called out happily. She ran towards us, arms outstretched and stopped just short of us. “Bonnie, are you ok?”

“She has a virus. I need to get her into bed.” I threw ours bags onto the floor and picked Bonnie up in my arms. “Can you grab her a glass of water?”

“Yeah.” Rose hurried off to the kitchen and I walked towards my bedroom. As I placed her under the covers after removing her shoes I looked over my shoulder and saw Matt standing there, hovering in the doorway.

  “She ok?” He asked.

“Yeah, she will be. She needs to rest.” I looked at her and she had fallen fast asleep. I made sure she was tucked in as I didn’t want her getting colder.

“Let me in.” Rose said, pushing Matt out of the way. “When did she get sick?”

“We were out last night, she had several drinks. Once we got back to the hotel she threw up and again this morning. She has been feeling dizzy and cold too. I took her to the doctors on the way here.”

“Well, it’s perfect timing man, we have a fight in an hour. Ethan was pissed that you wouldn’t be there. Now, he’ll be happier.” Matt said slapping me on the back.

“What? No, I’m not going. I’m not leaving her.”

“Come on, man, it’s not like she’s your girlfriend.” He smirked.

“Matt.” I heard Jacob say his name in a warning tone.

“What? She’s not? You’re not exactly going to be getting lucky for the next few days. Come and let the girls at the gym sort you out.” He chuckled.

“What the fuck, man? Don’t you dare talk about her like that!” I yelled as I squared up to him.

“Save it for the ring man.” He said walking away. “I’ll tell Ethan you’ll be there.”

“What’s got into him?” I asked Rose and Jacob.

“He has been like this since Bonnie wouldn’t see him on their last day. Going out, getting trashed, sleeping around.” Jacob told me. “Come on, man, let’s get this fight over with.” I’d looked over at Bonnie sleeping, I didn’t want to leave her.

“I’ll stay with her.” Rose told me, wrapping her arms around my waist. I nodded and kissed her on the top of her head.

“Make sure she takes her anti-biotics when she wakes up.” I knelt down so I was closer to Bonnie. “I won’t be long.” I whispered to her and gave her a gentle kiss on the lips.

  ***

“Joe, good to see you.” Ethan said as he slapped me on the back. “Been off with your little girlfriend?”

“She’s not his.” Matt growled as he stormed past.

“You know, you are a little young to be tied down. You don’t wanna end up like your Dad, do you?”

“What do you mean?” I asked him, looking around to see who was here for the fights today. That’s when I saw Damien, Bonnie’s ex. Now I knew about their history, I wanted to show him what pain was really like. Hurt him for hurting Bonnie.

“He settled with your Mum too early, it was too much pressure and he left.”

“They both left.” I growled. What was he trying to tell me
? That I was like my Dad? That I would hurt Bonnie? No, I wouldn’t, I couldn’t. She had been through enough hurt.

“Your Dad left first and then your Mum ran away.”

“No, they went out shopping and never came back.” Was he messing with my head?

“Your Dad left that morning. Your Mum ran away in the evening. What makes you different from him?”

“What about J? He gonna hurt Rose? Walk out on her?” I was angry, who was this guy to be telling me what I would end up doing.

“He is different from you. He always thinks of others first.” Was he right? I used to put myself first, by sleeping around and getting what I wanted. Never having a relationship with anyone. Now I put Bonnie first and Rose, I would do anything for those girls.

“I’m different with Bonnie.” I told him.

“Different enough not to sleep with anyone else? Not hurt her? Break her heart? Are you telling me you’re different or trying to convince yourself?” His words got to me and made me think, I was angry that I hadn’t thought about the possibility that I would be like my Dad. When I was little, people use to say that I was just like him, in the way I acted and my behaviour. I remember people saying; ‘The apple doesn’t fall far from the tree’. Was I destined to be like him? Would I turn out that way?

“Joe, you’re up.” Ethan called out. Shit, this was not good, my mind was working overtime and now I had to try and concentrate. I hadn’t even warmed my body up, the quickest way would be to grab one of the girls but I wasn’t going there. Not again.

“Come on, pussy, let’s go.” I looked up to the ring and saw Damien standing there waiting for me. I pushed all of my fears of hurting Bonnie aside and decided to pay him back for what he had done to her.

I climbed into the ring, stretched out my muscles and bounced on my feet, trying desperately to warm my body up. As soon as the ref told us to start Damien came straight at me with a jab to the jaw.
