“Glad you’re here brother,” I tell him. He pulls back with a smile on his face.
“We wouldn’t miss this shit. We have your back, you know that.” Mayhem grins as I look over his shoulder at Declan and Monster saying hi to all the guys.
“This isn’t your war, brother,” I tell Mayhem. He shrugs before grabbing a cigarette and lighting it up.
“Maybe not but you’re my brother. We’re family. We’re all fuckin’ Soulless Bastards, and this is what we do. We got each other no matter what, yeah?”
Fuck, I love this club and all that it stands for.
“Goddamn right,” I tell him with a grin.
“Let’s get your girl back.” Mayhem punches me in the shoulder before walking back to his bike. I watch him climb on, my heart leaping in my chest. I don’t know how this is going to play out but I’m damn fucking proud to have my boys behind me.
Chapter 32
“Right there. We head through there. We know they have only one guard up front. Past that, we have no fuckin’ clue,” I say as I point to the area Ninja and I talked about.
“Keep your eyes open. Braylynn could be anywhere in there, and we want her unharmed. Don’t call out to one of the other brothers if you find her; just get her the fuck outta here and back to the clubhouse. We regroup once we get there,” Hawk informs them.
I nod my head although I don’t like his idea much. I want Braylynn if she’s alive. I want her in my arms but I know this is for the best. We need to get in and get out quickly.
“Ok. Let’s go!” Hawk says. The guys nod, guns drawn. We move toward the gate ready to shoot and kill anyone that happens to step in front of us.
My body is on high alert. My nerves are firing off. I want that kill. I want more than one, but any one will work for me at the moment. We make our way closer to the guard gate when I see the idiot standing there looking at his phone. I shake my head. What a fucking waste. I pull my gun, the one with the silencer attached. Yeah, I planned that shit out. Surprise, motherfuckers! With my aim, I don’t miss. One shot and the motherfucker hits the ground. His lifeless body falls as I smirk. One down. I motion for the guys to move in. They break into groups and head in toward the main building. Crashed isn’t a compound like ours. It’s just a clubhouse with a few houses scattered around the property. We know the basic layout. Always come prepared. We move in. I spot the clubhouse with a few guys standing outside. I motion to the others before we ambush them. Shots ring through the air. Fuck the silencer now. I want them to know we’re coming for them. I want them to fear me.
My pace picks up as we all break off from each other. Me and Draven head toward the north side of the clubhouse. Mayhem and Hawk head toward one of the houses while the others head toward another one. My heart is slamming inside of me. I try to keep it all under control, but it’s hard when you are in a situation like this. Draven and I step around the building when all hell rains down. Guys come out of every door firing at us. We duck behind what we can to cover our asses while firing back. I hear screams and hollers and watch as bodies fall to the ground. I can’t tell where all the noises are coming from, but when the shots cease, Draven and I share a look. I nod my head before we stand and move forward.
We keep our eyes open as we make our way closer to the clubhouse. They aren’t a big club so I don’t expect many more to show their faces. We’re getting close to the door when Draven grabs my arm.
“Over there,” he says with a slight nod. If I wasn’t looking at him, I wouldn’t have seen him do it. My eyes follow his to a slight flicker of silver. Shit. That must be Nick.
“I’m goin’ around. Cover me,” I tell him. He nods his head. I slowly move around the clubhouse, peering into the windows to make sure no one is inside. When I’m satisfied there isn’t anyone lurking in there, I move. I step into the tree line and creep nearly silently through. I can see Draven still looking around the clubhouse when I spot the fucker on the ground. His gun is aimed at Draven but he hasn’t fired. My mind wars with my heart. I want to kill him. I want to torture him. Both of those feelings are slamming into each other. I opt for the killing when I see his finger near the trigger.
Before I can get to him, he fires. My stomach lurches into my throat as I jump on his back. I slam my fist into the side of his head before he rolls, taking me with him. We’re in an all-out brawl now and I fucking love it. Fighting as always been my strong point. The blows keep raining down between us.
“You fucked up tryin’ to get what’s mine,” I roar before taking him down again. Our scuffle is becoming bloody. That’s good. That means we’re not giving up until one of us is dead.
“She’s mine,” Nick roars, his fist colliding with my jaw.
Lights burst behind my eyes. I shake my head to get rid of them. I go back at him full force. I see the knife in his hand. It doesn’t faze me in the slightest. I throw a punch, and when his arm swings the blade up, I catch his wrist. Twisting his arm around, I force the blade to sink into his chest. Nick struggles against me. I twist the knife harder. All the fight slowly leaves his body.
When I’m satisfied that he’s actually dead, I take a step back. My heart pounds roughly. I glance around when I hear Hawk roar. His battle call is wild. It makes me smile. He always does this strange scream when the war is over. That was the fastest take down in history, but like I said, this club wasn’t very big.
I walk back toward the clubhouse bleeding and huffing for breath. I glance around and notice a few guys missing. Fuck! My eyes meet Hawk’s but he just shrugs. He doesn’t know if any of them have Bray or not. I see Mayhem grabbing his shoulder and panic races its way up my spine.
“You okay?” I ask the closer I get. He moves his hand and I see the hole in his arm. “Fuck.” I grumble but he grins.
“I’m gonna let you explain that hole to Tay. She’s gonna kick my ass.” He chuckles. Yeah, Taylor will kill me for letting him get hurt.
“I’ll take that ass beatin’ for you, brother.” I smile.
Hawk walks closer and looks me over. “You good?”
I nod my head glancing around. “They all dead?” I ask. Hawk nods, pulling a cigarette from his pocket. He passes me one. We light up and stand in the middle of the carnage that we’re leaving behind and I feel proud.
We did it. Whether or not we got Bray back, my family can rest at peace. The bastards who took them away from me are gone now. My heart starts to beat a little slower with that knowledge.
“Let’s go home.” Hawk slaps a hand on my shoulder.
“Yeah. Let’s go home.”
Chapter 33
The ride back was somber. I feel a little lighter now. Like the entire world isn’t sitting on my shoulders anymore. It was hard to walk around every day and know that those bastards were out there somewhere. That they were still living and breathing when my family was cold in the ground. Now that’s all over. It’s finished. I climb off my bike noting that Doc’s car is here. I’m guessing some of the others have been hurt too. I want to get in there and see who it is and how bad, but a part of me wants to go home and sit with my own pity. My hearts a little heavier when I don’t see Bray walking into the clubhouse.
“You hit, fucker?” Monster grins at me when he sees the blood splattered on my clothes.
“Not mine. You?” He wipes a little blood from his face, shaking his head. “Thanks for comin’ down here, Monster. I appreciate it.” Monster nods his head, dismissing me. He knows if shit got bad up their way, we’d be there too. It’s what we do and who we are.
“Tell Tay I’m sorry about your arm. You won’t be jerkin’ off for a while.” I chuckle when I look at Mayhem. I can’t help it, that crazy fuck makes it too easy.
“Yeah, keep that shit in mind when she cuts yours off. She can’t get what she wants, she will be blamin’ someone.” He laughs.
I shake my head before grabbing a beer off the counter. I pop the top and take a long pull as I look around the room. The guys are all scattered around, laug
hing and talking. They’re celebrating the fucking win against the enemy, but it all slows down for me when I think about her. Bray should be here too. She should be here celebrating her victory. Her win.
“She’s as stubborn as they fuckin’ come.” I hear Doc behind me mumbling about someone. I glance over my shoulder as he talks to Hawk.
“Heard that.”
“She needs to rest but I couldn’t sedate her because of the baby. She lost her shit when I even brought it the fuck up. I thought she was gonna hand me my balls on platter,” Doc says, shaking his head. Hawk laughs. Who the hell are they talking about? One of the club girls pregnant?
“She’s a tough one,” Hawk adds. Doc gives me a nod before walking out of the side door.
I’m confused as hell but I just lean back and drink my beer. It’s none of my goddamn business who Hawk has impregnated this time. I light up a cigarette and lean against the wall with my ankles crossed taking in the guys.
“Good family we got here,” Hawk says stepping up next to me.
“Damn good family.”
“Unstable motherfuckers but that’s what makes us who we are,” he adds as I laugh. He’s right about that. We are as unstable as they come. We fight. We shoot. We kill. We’re all fucked up in our own way.
“That won’t ever change,” I tell him.
Hawks chuckles before he says, “No. Probably not. You feel at peace, brother?” He looks up at me.
“Yeah. I feel a lot better about my family now. I think it was needed. I just hate that that’s it, you know? That’s the end of it,” I tell him when I hear that voice.
“Not necessarily.”
Hawk grins as I suck in a breath. I turn slowly and my heart stops beating. A broken and bloody Bray stands there with her arms wrapped around herself. A bandage is wrapped around each of her wrists. My heart can barely handle the sight of her.
“You’re not dead.” The words fall from my lips. She smiles and shakes her head.
“Not yet.” Her eyes settle on mine. She doesn’t move. She stands there watching me the way I’m watching her. It’s almost as if she isn’t real. She isn’t here.
“You’re here,” I say in disbelief.
Bray sniffles a little before stepping toward me. I move faster. I grab her, pulling her into my arms. Holding her against my chest, she sobs. The guys clap and roar around us but I don’t hear any of them. Only her. I hear her. I reach for her wrists, pressing a kiss to each one of them over the bandages.
“I’m gonna spank your ass so hard after that shit you pulled thinkin’ it was a smart idea to turn yourself back over to them,” I warn her. She doesn’t stop crying though. My heart stills. This is all too much. Too consuming. She’s here. She’s in my fucking arms.
“There’s something we need to talk about, Smokey.” She cries into my chest. I pull back and look down at her fragile body. Fuck this. Fuck all of it. I don’t want to talk. I lift her in my arms against her protest.
“Put me down. I mean it!” she snaps. I ignore her and stomp through the door and down the road. Fuck this shit. I need her. I need her in my arms. In my bed. Naked on all fours. I need to feel that she’s real. That she’s really here with me. I make it to the house with her flailing in my arms. She’s slapping at me which does little more than make me hornier. I slam my hand against her ass. Bray yelps.
“Put me down!” she yells once more.
“When I get my dick inside of you, I will,” I roar. I kick the door closed, storming down the hallway. I toss Bray’s body onto the bed as I strip out of my clothes.
“Smokey,” she says my name once, pulling her knees to her chest. What the hell? What’s wrong with her?
“Naked, Bray. Now,” I growl. More tears fill her eyes.
“Smokey. I’m pregnant.”
Chapter 34
Well if that wasn’t a kick to the fucking nuts, I don’t know what the hell is. Pregnant. Yeah. I can’t be a dad. No way. I run my hand through my hair as I look at her on the bed in tears. I’m not sure what to say here. What the fuck do you say to the woman that just told you she was pregnant? I’ve never been in this position.
“You didn’t feel like you should have told me you weren’t on somethin’ the whole time I fucked you?” I roar as I tug at my hair. Her eyes jerk to mine. The anger is drifting off her in waves.
“Oh, you mean after you kidnapped me and fucked me whenever you wanted? What was I supposed to say, excuse me captor but I’m not on birth control!” she screams, climbing to her knees on the bed. I see that fire I love so much dancing in her dark brown eyes.
“Well, there’s a fuckin’ thought! ‘Hey, Smokey. Maybe you should use a condom.’ Would have been helpful!” I yell back at her. She narrows her eyes which makes my dick hard.
“Are you really going to blame this on me? You kidnapped me, asshole! You kept me locked up here for your own perverted reasons!” she snaps.
“I didn’t hear any goddamn complaints when I fucked you until you couldn’t walk!” I counter.
“Wait! Did I have much of a choice? I mean, you did go all caveman on me! Tying me to the bed and shit.”
Oh, look at her. So fucking precious. She is trying to push me and she is doing a damn good job.
“I seem to remember that pussy of yours soakin’ wet every time I touched it. Did that just magically happen?” I snap.
Bray’s eyes narrow further. Her hands come to rest on her hips. Fuck, she’s gorgeous. “You kidnapped me. Forced me to be your sex slave. You spanked me!” she roars.
“Wait a minute. You fuckin’ liked bein’ spanked!”
“You blindfolded me,” she sneers.
“Which again, you liked.” I cross my arms over my chest being just as defiant as she is. I can play her game. I will play it.
“The belt?” she asks.
“Maybe I was a little rough with the belt, but I didn’t hear any complaints when you were comin’ around my dick.” Her mouth opens but nothing comes out. Look at that. My little flower is at a loss for words. I slowly drag my shirt over my head, her eyes trailing over my body.
“Tell me, little flower. Did you not like what your body felt when I did those things to you?” I watch her reaction as I fumble with the buckle on my belt. When I pull if free and snap it in front of me her eyes widen. All thoughts from what we were even arguing about have slipped my mind. All I can see is her. “Don’t be shy now, Bray,” I tell her. Her eyes come back to mine. I unhook my jeans and slide them to the floor as she watches me.
“You can’t be serious,” she says. Her voice falters, betraying her. She wants to be mad. She wants to take this shit out on me, and I would let her any other time, but my dick is painfully hard right now. I need her. I want her bent over, taking all of me until she can’t take anymore. I want her screaming my name and coming around me, her juices flowing like a river.
“I’m fuckin’ dead serious. Didn’t you see what I did to get you back, little flower?”
Bray licks her lips before looking back up at me. “You didn’t do that for me,” she says softly.
She doesn’t believe me? What the fuck does she think I was doing there?
“What?”
“You did it for your family. The same reason you took me, Smokey. Don’t say you did it for me.” Her voice has dropped.
I step toward the bed, kneeling in front of her. I run my hand over her stomach as she gasps.
“Partially. You’re right, I wanted them to pay. I wanted to feel at peace with what happened to my family. I wanted them to hurt, Bray, so that I could move on. This right here, this is my family now.” I run my fingers over stomach although I’m still not sure how I feel about it. I don’t know how to be a father. I’m a killer. It’s what I know. Being a parent isn’t something I know how to do. “I came back for you too. I thought you were dead. At first I tried to live with that. I tried to take it for what it was because you were never meant to be mine. I thought if I let that part go, I could move on. Ni
nja knew you were dead though. At least he suspected and that was good enough for me to move in. I realized just how alone I was without you. I get it, Bray. I get if you don’t want me. Fuck, you shouldn’t! I hurt you. I did things to you that I shouldn’t have but I fuckin’ liked it.” I start to pull away when her hands wrap around my wrists.
“I liked what you did to me. You were right. I was wet every time you touched me.” She leans up, pressing her lips to my neck. The air is sucked from my lungs. I drop my head and do the same to her. I drag my tongue across her flesh, loving how she shivers.
“Fuck, Braylynn. The things I wanna do to you-” I cut myself off. I can’t do them to her. I can’t.
“Smokey. Mark me,” she says softly. I pull back and look into her eyes. They sparkle with need. I want to give her whatever she wants but not that. She’s pregnant for fuck’s sake, although that means nothing to my dick.
“I can’t.” I start to pull away from her but she stops me again.
“When Nick and my dad had me, I wanted to die. I tried.” She holds her wrists up for me to look at before she continues. “When I found out I was pregnant while I was there, I knew I couldn’t. I knew that everything we did was something I yearned for. You took my pleasure to a new level that I didn’t think I’d like. The truth is, your torture was my pleasure.”
She can’t be serious. Looking into her eyes though, I can see it. She is serious.
“You want me to mark you, Bray?” I ask her, my voice husky. She nods her head, biting her lip.
I lean my head down, kissing her shoulder before biting into her flesh. The sensation mixed with her cries warms my insides. It feels so good to have her next to me.
“You’re mine, Braylynn,” I growl against her. “All of you. Your pain, your pleasure. Your torture, your release. It’s all mine.” I bite her again.
