Panties, Calamities and Hungry Creatures (Grimstone Island) Page 6

“Gods.” He shook his head as if to clear it. “You’re trying to kill me.” His voice cracked. My Mrs. Ego twerked her ass. “I want to tend to you, darling. This is my own promise.” Adrian lowered, nose dragging south of my belly, licking along the way, then meeting my pussy. He inhaled deep against the light pink lace, expelling groans. His nose moved forward, an added pressure I needed. I throbbed. At this point, I could no longer see anything an inch past my nose. My sight was crossing and shutting down. I curled my fingers around the door handle above my head. Skull pressing hard into the leather cushion. No other sound filled the car.

  Yet.

It was building in the base of my throat. And just as thick masculine fingers slipped passed panties and entered my soaking depths, I cried out, “Fuck! Adrian!”

His fingers thrust in smooth fluidity, from to tip to knuckle. Coated with me. Gods-fucking-damn McShitser.

“More, darling?” Those damned fingers paused.

  “Please! Move!”

“In a rush, hmm?” Though I could only hear him, I knew that wicked smile was there.

“Wouldn’t want...” I sucked in air, urging words to come out. “Wouldn’t want our table given to someone else,” I said in ragged breaths. Really, I was on the hunt for a mega climax. Wouldn’t want you to face a very pissed wolf if she doesn’t get it. I shut out the world and just savored feeling everything the dragon did to my body.

“Unlikely.” A thumb rotated around my clit. Popping white pleasure blossomed in my gut. “I could forever eat the noises you make.”

“Mmm.” My head bobbed. That makes two of us. The lower half of me met each beautiful rough double-fingered pump in rapid, sharp pace, and I didn’t think to be modest. The hell with that, hissed the she-wolf. I let my enthusiasm show, honey.

His middle finger curled, hitting that right spot that was electrifying. Reinvigorating. Greedy walls clamped around him. “Adri...” Gasping.

Then the thumb hitting my nub, and the fingers making sweet, glorious love to me disappeared and were instantly replaced by a soft mouth and talented tongue.

  I busted.

Tonight, a wolf rocketed to the motherfucking moon.

Once clothes were straightened, breathing became normal, and... evidence... was wiped away, I resumed my seat and flipped open the visor to fix my frizzy hair, flattening down puffy tangles.

“Dessert before dinner, hmm?” I gave a coy smile.

That got a bark of laughter outta Adrian. “Deep down, I am a rebel.”

“We’re just two peas in a pod, then. Some wouldn’t think engaging in backseat foreplay before dinner is necessarily normal,” I said, shutting the visor. Adrian started the car.

“I concur,” he mused. “For us, I think burying my face in your pussy is quite acceptable. If I wanted normal, I wouldn’t be here with you.” That sinister grin flashed.

“You say the sweetest things.” Reaching to squeeze his thigh, I eyed his still bulging manhood. Guilt hit me then. “Before we go, let me—”

“No, I’m good.” He frowned at his neglected friend then took my hand and kissed the palm. “I’m fine. The moment was solely about what you needed.”

“But I—” Words halted as he bit down on a knuckle.

“Sweet Kokoa, I am fine. Don’t think I haven’t gotten off by it. I very much enjoyed every second.” He smoothed his lips over the still tingling bites on my knuckles. “Besides, the night isn’t over yet.”

  Oh, what a lovely prospect.

He let go of my hand to scorch my mouth once more with a lengthy kiss, making me shiver, before returning to the wheel. All four windows instantly opened. “In the meantime, it’ll help a bit to not be completely surrounded by your intoxicating scent,” he admitted.

“You want me to sit with my head out the window like a dog?” I laughed, joking.

He didn’t. A considered look emerged.

“Let the record show, I’m a real badass team player,” I said before leaning out. Though the seatbelt caught, I was fairly outside with my legs on the seat, ass in the air.

Adrian gave it a good smack. “Naturally, darling.” The car cruised on forward and a breeze swirled around me.

My hair was already fucked. What were a little wind and bugs added in?

Whimsical violin strings and harp strums created a soothing atmosphere within the decorative walls of The Blue Reef. After we were seated, Adrian dismissed the server without a drink order just yet, our menus untouched as he watched me take in my surroundings. It had been a long while since I’d dined here.

A sophisticated—pinky out—girl’s night. But I remembered that ending in Yasmin suggesting we walk to Club Kitty—an environment with eardrum rattling music and prohibited table dancing that inevitably made the night better.

Presently, staff were on the constant move holding large trays of steaming platters. Bodies sitting at white clothed tables spoke in hushed tones, a direct contrast to The Growling Grill, the barbeque joint my family runs.

I prefer being submerged in loud ruckus and the smell of grilled meat, however.

Adrian watched me shift again in the booth we occupied in a quiet corner, beside a porthole window looking directly out to the vast Serpent Lagoon. Its waves were muted behind the thick glass.

“What are you thinking about?” The quiet question drifted over a lit candle.

“That... well, that we’re in a very intimate setting.”

“Surely not as intimate as you were with my genitalia that one night. And I with yours moments ago.”

“Yeah, we sure love putting our faces in private places,” I replied, mocking a wince. Seeing his eyes crinkle eased the stiffness in my shoulders. “Honestly, I’m not one to go on dates. I mean, I always love that there’s food involved, but...” I glanced at all the over-the-top kissy face couples.

“You make it abundantly clear that mundane isn’t your forte.”

  “Exactly!”

“As well as formal settings, quiet atmospheres that lack copious amounts of cheap alcohol, and gyrating bodies with poor hygiene. You have a style born without the finer jewels—you’d rather spandex tops, ripped jeans,” he nodded to my head, “messy hair—”

“All right, I get it!” Maybe I am too much of an open book. “I’m a flippin’ torn, gum-ridden sneaker in a store department full of Prada and Gucci.”

“You’re different.” He leaned in to capture my hands. Both thumbs smoothed circles in my skin. “You’re a breath of fresh, rich autumn air.”

“Why do you say that?” I asked honestly, not hiding a half baffled, half twisted look. Truly, I appreciated and warmed to his words as I did whenever Jonathan or Gavin said things like that. My smidgen of confusion lay in what exactly these guys saw in me. I’m far from perfect. I simply show who I really am - I’m never one to hold anything back. That’s a turnoff for some people and if that’s all the answer—then that made me wonder what’s wrong with his brain?

“Because you just are.” He shrugged like it was the most obvious thing, then signaled the waiter. Yeah, there’s definitely an anomaly inside his noggin.

“Sir?” Instantly a server arrived beside the table. He was a lean, big-eared troll wearing all black. His smooth, light voice paired oddly with such a grotesque, snaggle-toothed face. “Your drinks?”

“We’ll have the Pinot Nefarious,” Adrian relayed, then raised an eyebrow at me in confirmation. The white wine sounded good right about then, so I nodded. Similar to Pinot Noir, it’s the supernatural crafted version for our society.

The troll gestured to the large brown leather menus we’d yet to open. “Excellent. And for an appetizer?”

“Crab dip, please,” I answered. That was a given since we were in a seafood restaurant. The troll, Wayne, indicated by a nametag, blinked.

  “Which type?”

Uhh... I glanced at Adrian, who suspiciously covered his mouth with a hand. The twinkle in his eye
s was still clear.

“The one with crab in it?” I replied, meekly. Heat surged in my cheeks. Great. Stupid me. I quickly opened the menu. I’d forgotten this place had a wide variety of... well, everything pertinent to seafood. Duh, Kokoa, duh!

Scrolling down fancy writing and very aware of the two staring males—one, belonging to a silently laughing asshole dragon—I finally found the large section of dips. Ah, crap. There were a lot. Which was the one I’d ordered a while ago before?

  -Eel Bones Crab Dip

-Old Bay with Squid Beak Crab Dip

  -Dolphin Intestine Crab Dip

-Chunked Crab and Whale Blubber Dip

-Marinated and Chopped Octopus Tentacle Crab Dip *Ink Included*

-Crab, Sea Spider Legs and Cheese Dip

-Crab with Aged, Dried Kelp Dip

-Crab and Bits of Coral Dip *Served with Seastar Appendages*

“Darling,” Adrian lowered the menu till I had full view of his grinning face. The bastard. He addressed the waiter. “The crab with kelp will be good.”

Wayne bowed. “I’ll have that out soon, sir.” He strode off, I’m sure, wondering which crab dip-less pit hole the dragon had managed to drag me out of.

  Adrian snorted.

“Ass, you saw I was struggling.” Crossing my arms, I conducted the good ol’ bitch look. Except it had no effect since his attention dropped to my cleavage.

“True. You’re adorable when you are.” He shrugged, and shamelessly undid his cuff buttons and loosened his tie. Gettin’ comfy. It was warming that he could around me. Make note, him getting comfortable in between my legs is on a different level.

“So... what to eat, what to eat...” I read through the menu and thankfully found a simple salmon platter. Adrian’s neatly folded hands rested on his closed menu. I assumed he knew what to order, although his gaze suggested what was directly in front of him was an option.

  Again. Teehee.

“Kokoa,” he said quietly, pulling me in quite easily. A finger crook later, our faces were inches apart across the table. His gaze swept over my features. I had an urge to back up and glance anywhere besides his loaded stare.

“I should have started the night by saying you look very beautiful.”

“Thank you, although a comment on tardiness is what I’m used to guys saying first.” Tonight was different. I hadn’t been able to stop thinking about it, and as a result I’d been ready on time.

The candlelight glowing across our joined hands made our complexion golden—mine more so than his.

His intense stare drilled straight to my core. I couldn’t help but tinker with the thought, is this a maneuver to get me to not look in his?

Luckily, I’m nosey as hell. The she-wolf ignored the sounds in the area, its people and objects, to zero in on her target. In natural defense, Adrian’s body tensed, and his eyes narrowed, his dragon cautioning. Ah, maybe I was right.

I started with what I’d witnessed earlier, before we left. “Why are you worried about your sister? I noticed a look you had at the cabin.”

“Kokoa,” he expelled on a sharp laugh. He shook his head, considering me, silent, and a thousand things to say zoomed past in his gaze. Then he sighed. “I’ve been like that since we were born. Always the worrier, holding my breath constantly around her...” He hesitated slightly before continuing. “Like a cushion she’d need, whenever she falls.” His brows pinched together. “I was the talker to get her out of whatever shit she’d cause with our father or Draco.” He was referring to the Grimstone founding leader slash grandfather. “Over the last few decades I finally stopped coming to her rescue and pushing her to commit to the family.”

  “She’s a grown woman.”

“Had reached that point back then, yes.” Adrian gained a faraway look. I rubbed soothing circles on his hands. “I know my sister can take care of herself, and she’s appreciated all I’ve done, but it’s still... irksome that she continues to be reckless.”

I laughed quietly and came to her defense. “Honestly, Adrian, I see a free spirit in her. As am I.”

He frowned, confused, then squeezed my hand, understanding she and I were alike. “I assure, I do not mean any disrespect. It’s just that her behavior sometimes encourages my father to keep insisting I do something about it. Though we are not fledglings anymore. I am her other half. I should know why she resists all that our family has achieved, why she is so defiant. In actuality... I envy her.”

“The suit gets to be too tight, huh?” I responded quietly.

He nodded, a small smile forming. It didn’t brighten his conflicted expression, nor lighten the darkness, and that made me sad.

“Unbelievably so, especially with the duties I carry... Until you came along.” The smile became real.

I threw my head back and laughed. “What a day that must’ve been for you.”

“The best.” He shrugged and relaxed his shoulders.

Mr. Wayne The Waiter arrived with a tray holding the bottle, two glasses and our steaming appetizer. He made quick work setting it all down. Adrian nodded his thanks. “We’re not ready to place an entree order yet.”

The troll bowed again before leaving, leading me to ask another question that had been itching me for a while. “Speaking of that day, and the many others that followed...” I started, watching him pour our wine. My tummy rumbled at the sight of the gooey dip. Brown cooked spots freckled the cream-colored pool, bits of kelp embedded within, all inside a white porcelain bowl. It was placed on top of a matching plate surrounded by crusty crostini.

“The beginning of a very enticing game.” Adrian handed me my glass and I took a gulp—maybe two... okay three and counting—just to get the courage machine up and running. The game had lasted two months - two months of sneaking daily polaroid pictures into his car.

Hell, what happened in the past will remain there—both the acting out in this manner toward a then stranger, and my stalking tendencies. You know, just another moment that’s engraved in my life history, one I’m really counting on to laugh about once I’m over thirty.

“What have you done with all those pictures?” I was controlled enough to refrain from eating yet. I wanted to see his reaction, and not be nose-dived in the dip.

Predictably, he hid any sort of hints on his handsome face, damned eyes going blank.

“Adrian.” I arched an eyebrow, not letting this go.

Then he blinked, and a small green flame bloomed on the table nearest the wall. Before it went out, leaving not a single blemish on the tablecloth, a stack of said polaroids was left in its place. On the top, facing up, was a close up of my right ass cheek, barely concealed in a yellow lace cut off panty.

I knew Adrian sensed my thought to reach for them. He produced another green flame, engulfing the glossy pics again, then made them disappear.

  Oh, poo.

“They’re always with me,” he said, with a mouth that quirked to one side. Slick and wicked. “Whenever I need a dose of your peachy ass, I just call them up.”

“Handy.” I emptied the rest of my wine glass and poured in more till it reached the rim. “When you do, is anyone—”

“No. No one is around. I’d never even risk it.” His cut in was sharp, leaving no room for further inquiry, solidifying a trust I didn’t sweat about before—although, I should’ve. “Nor would I want what’s mine to be seen by someone else.” He was dead serious.

“And that’s not creepy at all,” I quipped. “But thanks,”

He offered a sweet smile. “Eat.” He nodded to the dip. That sweet smile turned into a perfect “O” as he watched me plow through the dip. He was utterly fascinated. He tracked every movement, every mouth chew. No worries, I don’t talk with my mouth full. I might eat like I haven’t in centuries, but I do have manners.

Once I finished my portion—and a little of his—I was back to turning the metaphorical table on him again.

“I wonder...” I paused to tap my chin and stare pointedly at him. He rais
ed a single brow. “What type of undies you have on?” Since we’re on the subject, you know. It seemed a very logical turn in conversation. Not your typical dinner time topic but anywhere with me present, who’s to say?

  “Undies, darling? Really?” He chuckled.

“Okay, then. Undergarments? Briefs?—oh! Please tell me you’re a boxer guy who likes to wear a pair with little red hearts on them!” I sucked in a breath, nearly on the verge of squealing, and crossed my fingers. Adrian wearing baby heart printed boxers would be like the Devil bathing with a rubber ducky. Just bizarre, but somehow fitting.

What was expected: the heat wave, conjured only by my own doing, that lapped the senses. Gods, talking about the very clothing that encased his dick had its tingling effects.

Just a feel could hold me...

I didn’t think I’d ever swallowed or panted that many times outside of my wolf form. That’s a lie. I was in a place surrounded by food. Oh, hell, you know what I mean though, right?

Adrian was shaking his head the entire time during my internal freak out, with brightened eyes flickering with amusement.

“Why the sudden interest?” Ha, he’d used an innocent tone. The dragon was playing me. I glanced around then narrowed a stare at him, still trying to look nonchalant.

Slipping out of my stiletto only took a second.

Sliding my bare foot up his calf toward his thigh to ultimately drive the biggest predator known to supernatural man on earth crazier than he’s probably ever been? Well, well, well... I was too busy watching him struggle for breath to count the seconds.

Unfortunately, my short self couldn’t go further without falling off the booth and under the table. But damn, were the engines revved. Funny, how a single bead of sweat dripping and a muscle tick in the jaw can give someone away. Or the fact that an aroused dragon can never defuse the flame within his gaze.

Sorry, bud. I don’t do games anymore. Especially puzzles. I fucking hated those.

I stood up, clutch in hand, an afterthought to grab since I shouldn’t need to worry about a sticky-fingered person going far with old gum wrappers, cherry lip balm, and a few bucks.
