by Mellie E. Miller

“Me? Let me guess. It has been leaked to the press that I was kidnapped, etc., etc.”

  “Of course.”

“Dam! Look at my clothes! I can’t be seen like this!”

“Hmm…I can see you just fine. But I can think of several things we could do, besides talk about this business any longer,” he said, pulling her close again and kissing her neck.

“Dam, my clothes are hanging on by threads. I’m barely dressed!”

“I know, so you should just take them off altogether, anything which looks so terrible. And since you’re about to be naked, in my office…” he said, as he began a passionate embrace.

The door opened and Marco stepped inside. “Dam! Per l’amor di Dio! What are you doing?”

“I was enjoying my wife. She’s my wife, this is my office, and it’s been quite an evening. Per favore, close the door and lock it on your way out. We don’t want to be disturbed.”

  ABOUT THE AUTHOR

Born in the farming country of America’s Midwest, Mellie grew up on a small farm surrounded by fields of grain and alfalfa, beef cattle and poultry of all kinds. The summers were hot and humid and the winters cold and snowy. Perfect for reading by a warm fire.

Her college days were spent in sunny southern California, where she studied religion, music and French. It’s also where she met her one and only, Steve, to whom she’s been married for thirty-seven years. While travelling around this great country, they have raised two daughters, who have blessed them with five grandsons.

Besides being a writer, Mellie plays several musical instruments, is a second degree martial arts instructor, and Reiki master. She and her husband currently reside in a small town in Georgia, with a varying number of cats, a flock of guineas, and a dog named Jester.
