Moaning, Adilah lifted her hips, encouraging him to continue as his lips found her clit, now hard and eagerly awaiting his touch. She trembled when his hot mouth found her nub and he sucked at it while continuing to pump his fingers deep inside her.

Unable to hold out any longer, Adilah’s body shook as her first orgasm rolled through. Crying out his name, she clutched wildly at his shoulders as he lapped at her juices eagerly drinking in everything that she had to offer.

Kalik and Adilah lay on the bed, staring at the ceiling. They had been lying like that and talking for what felt like hours. They were exhausted from their passionate lovemaking and needed to catch their breath.

“Do you feel rested yet?” he asked her. Her answering giggle was enough and he rolled over and propped up on his elbow. “Because I am going to ravish you until you cannot walk,” he told her as he positioned himself between her legs. Reaching for her, he was surprised at how ready she was for him as he slipped his finger between her folds and groaned at how hot she felt. Adilah let out a loud moan.

“You…wi..ah!.. Kalik…” Adilah could barely string a sentence together. He thrust his finger in deeper turning and twisting his hand to rub against her g-spot. Adilah arched her back and grabbed the sheets. Just as she was about to reach another release, he stopped as she looked up at him startled.

“Not yet,” he commanded her with his deep alluring voice. Adilah stared up at him as she fisted her hands in the sheets silently imploring him to bring her over the edge, but he was not letting her. He was going to take her even farther until her body tensed up from all the pleasure, and then release her pleasure.

Looking down at her, he positioned himself before easily sliding inside her, her vaginal muscles clenching tightly around him as he began to thrust in and out. Already shaken by her previous orgasms, her body quickly heated up as pleasure spikes coursed throughout her body causing her to quiver and squirm beneath him.

Holding her gaze, he watched her face as her pleasure grew and grew. Just when he thought that she could take no more, he grasped her chin, “Now,” he commanded, as she cried out. Capturing her lips, he kissed her as her body shook with the intensity of her release. Moaning into her mouth, his own pleasure overtook him as he came hard, her body eagerly milking his member as she spasmed around him.

When he was drained, he rolled to his back, bringing her with him as he stroked her body while she continued to shudder against him. Kissing her fluttering eyelids, he held her in his arms as her body sagged with exhaustion. Finding her soon asleep, he pulled the blanket around them and kissed the top of her head.

“I love you, habibti,” he told her, knowing that she wouldn’t hear him.

  Chapter 18

It was a few weeks later and Adilah was excited to see Rene and Joshua with their new son. As they sat in the living room, she crooned as she rocked the baby.

“He’s adorable,” Adilah told them as she hummed.

“That’s because he looks like me,” Joshua stated as he looked at his son with pride.

“Oh, could you possibly be more conceited,” Rene commented as she looked at him. “He looks like the both of us.”

“But he looks more like me.”

Suddenly Rene’s nostrils flared. “Okay, since he looks more like you, you can be the one to change him,” she told him cheekily as he looked at her with horror.

  “Wait, what?”

“Oh yes, since you said that he looks so much like you, then you should be the one to change his nappy and soon, before he stinks up the place,” she told him as she waved at Adilah to hand him the baby.

Giving her a disgruntled look when she handed him the baby’s bag, he slung it over his shoulder before reaching for his son. Wrinkling his nose in disgust, he kissed his son before leaving the room to change him.

As he walked out, Adilah started laughing, “Now that is something I never expected to see, a Tazeem male changing a baby.”

“I’m fairly sure he never expected it either. Oh, you should have seen the look on his face the first time he smelled his poo. It was all I could do to keep from falling down laughing,” Rene told her. “And, I’m really happy for you. I heard that your expo was a complete success.”

Nodding her head enthusiastically, “Oh, it was, despite everything that happened. In fact, the reviews have been so good that we might have new businesses moving to Al-Hammad as well as the potential for an increase in tourism. Oh, and have I told you how much money we raised? It’s all been fantastic.”

Before Rene could respond, Joshua walked out looking completely dishevelled. Looking up at him, “Joshua, what is it?” Rene asked him.

“Our son has taken it upon himself to soil all his nappies before I could get them on. He’s made a terrible mess and there’s nothing left to change him into.”

Covering her mouth to hide her smile, she smiled apologetically at Adilah, “We are still new at this,” she told her as she rose from her chair to take the baby. Wrinkling her nose at the smell, she smiled up at Joshua, “Shall we go then?” she asked him as he nodded in relief.

After they left, Adilah headed to the kitchen. Cassie’s birthday was in a few days and she wanted to bake her some red velvet cupcakes.

“Hey,” Kalik said as he walked into the kitchen. Adilah looked up to see him dressed in khaki trousers and a sky blue shirt, which was unbuttoned at the top, revealing his stone hard chest. Adilah resisted the idea of pinning him down, icing him up and then licking the icing off his washboard abs.

“Hey, yourself,” she replied with a smile. “Have I mentioned how handsome you look not dressed all in black?”

Pointing at his shirt, “I’ve been told that the blue brings out the colour in my eyes,” he said with a grin.

Snorting with laughter, “Indeed, it does,” she replied.

Everything had been different since they spent the entire day in the safe house. As he promised, he ravished her until she was unable to walk making love to her again and again.

When they finally returned home, her father and brother had a meeting with him. They had decided to promote him to a management position and the elder Tazeem, in conjunction with the king, had conferred the title of Sheik upon him. No one was more surprised than Adilah who cried when she heard the news.

“What are you up to?” Kalik stood behind her and wrapped his arms around her. He put his head on her shoulder and kissed her cheek.

“Baking birthday cupcakes for Cassie,” she replied. Adilah loved having Kalik hug her like that. He never usually hugged people, so she definitely knew that she was special and she loved being in his arms. It made her feel so secure and happy.

“Really?” Kalik released her from his embrace and walked over to the sink. He rolled his sleeves up and started washing his hands.

“What are you doing?” she asked him.

“I am going to help you bake.”

Adilah rocked her head back and started laughing. The thought of Kalik baking or cooking was foreign to her.

“What is so amusing?” he asked her as she continued to chuckle.

“I don’t think I’ve ever seen you do anything but eat in a kitchen.”

  “I’ve cooked,” he answered defensively.

  “Oh? What?”

Raising his eyebrows and giving her a mischievous grin, “Well, I can certainly get you simmering.”

Blushing, Adilah laughed at his comical look. Opening one of the drawers, she pulled out a white apron with strawberries and cherries on it. “You will have to wear this then,” she told him as she grinned. Holding it up, she placed it over his head before walking around behind him to tie it. He grunted before he spoke.

“I bet you would rather see me in nothing.” Blushing, Adilah spent an inordinate amount of time checking his apron before he grasped her chin and tilted her head up. “You didn’t answer me,” he stated as he watched her blush spread down her neck. He pulled her closer to him and planted a kiss on h
er lips as Adilah felt her insides melt. It was as if he was a different person.

After spending so much time adding bricks to the wall that was already between them, in only a few weeks that wall crumbled into rubble.

Adilah was now aware that Kalik had been holding back because he had lost someone he had cared about and he worried that he might lose her too, which was why he kept his distance. But all that was changed now that her father was pushing them to be together.

When they stopped kissing, Adilah was having fun showing Kalik how to mix the sugar and the butter before adding the flour and eggs. He focused so hard on the mixing. He wanted to make it perfect.

“Kalik, you need to relax,” Adilah said to him as she watched his frown lines creep across his forehead.

“I do not like failing at anything,” he said to her as he held the ceramic bowl while he used the electric mixer.

Adilah noticed some flour on his face and started laughing. “Look how much flour you are wearing,” she teased. He dipped his hand in the flour and flicked it at her. “Kalik!”

“Now we are even,” he said, laughing at her indignation. Adilah pouted at him before sidling over to the bowl and giving him a mischievous look. As far as she was concerned, they were not even, because she hadn’t thrown flour at him. She picked up some sprinkles and threw them at him.

Kalik put the bowl down and grabbed the sugar. He chased her around the kitchen, throwing whatever ingredients he could get his hands on at her as she giggled while trying to dodge his throws. When he finally caught her, he licked a chocolate chip off her face.

  “Kalik,” she growled.

“It’s not as delicious as your-“

  “Kalik!”

  “What?”

“Do not even think about finishing that sentence.”

“Miss Tazeem, you have a dirty mind.”

“No, I don’t!” Adilah shrugged out of his embrace and went to pull out the baking tins. She assembled them on the counter. “Here, come put your mixture in the tins. I will be right back.” She quickly dashed out of the room.

When the cupcakes were done, Kalik was particularly excited to see how they had turned out. “I want to put some icing, and maybe some sprinkles on them,” he said eagerly. Adilah raised her eyebrows.

  “Please, do not.”

  “Why not?”

“Decorating cakes is an art. Not just anyone can do it you know.”

“I bet I can do it.”

Adilah laughed. The man had lost it if he thought that he could ice the cupcakes beautifully. “Okay then,” she said and started cleaning the counter. There was so much washing up that needed to be done. Not to mention the flour covered floor. They had really made a mess of things. The maid was going to have a heart attack when she walked in.

“All these cupcakes are made from store bought ingredients, not some dodgy market stall,” Kalik said as Adilah turned to face him. Reaching behind him, he produced a cupcake, “Well, apart from this one.”

Adilah laughed, “If you think I’m eating something you ma-” Her jaw dropped and she felt her stomach lurch. There in the middle of the cake, glittering, was a ring. She couldn’t speak as she stood there frozen, not knowing what to say or do.

Kalik fished the ring from the cupcake and put it on her finger. “Adilah,” he said. She stared at him wanting to scream, hearing him say her name and not Miss Adilah or Miss Tazeem, just Adilah.

“I love you more than words can ever say. Would you please consent to be my wife?” he asked her as she stared dumbly at him. She had loved this man for so long and now here he was asking for her hand in marriage. She looked at the beautiful glittering diamond on her finger and back to him, still unable to speak. Raising an eyebrow, he looked at her, “Normally, this is the part where the woman says, yes.”

Finding her voice, “YES! Yes, I will marry you Kalik.”

  Chapter 19

Adilah turned from the full-length mirror at the sound of voices. Smiling, she greeted her friends as they embraced her.

“What’s this?” Rene asked as she wiped the tears from her face. “You’ll spoil your make-up if you cry on your big day.”

Grabbing a tissue, Cassie stepped up to blot gently at the tears. “What has you upset, Adi?”

Shaking her head, Adilah smiled at her friends. “I’m not upset. I’m ha…ha…happy. Really.”

“Uh huh, spill it girl,” Tanya told her.

Laughing despite the tears, Adilah reached for a framed photo and picked it up to show her friends. “This was my mother’s dress,” she told them as she showed them a picture of her parents on their wedding day.

“You look beautiful in it. Your mother would be so proud,” Rene told her as she squeezed her hand.

“We know that you need to finish getting ready, but we wanted to give you something,” Cassie told her.

“Loan you,” Tanya corrected pulling a small box out of her pocket and handing it to Adilah. “When a woman gets married, it’s tradition that she wear something old, something new, something borrowed and something blue. Normally, it’s supposed to be separate items, but we thought that this would work,” she finished as they crowded around to watch her open the box.

Adilah opened the box and gasped. In it was a charm bracelet. Lifting it out, she held it up. The white gold link bracelet had four charms hanging from it.

“We each picked out a charm,” Rene told her as she watched the emotions moving across Adilah’s face. “With the exception of the sapphire. That one is on loan from Cassie.”

“Is this the stone for your engagement ring?” Adilah asked her.

Nodding her head, “Yes, we haven’t started on the ring yet, so I thought that you could borrow it,” she told her, smiling brightly.

Adilah’s lip trembled as she told herself that she wasn’t going to cry again. Thrusting her wrist out, she smiled as Tanya hooked the clasp. Holding it up to the light, she laughed when she saw the little baking charms dangling next to the sparkling blue sapphire.

“I love it,” she told them, as they hugged her again before leaving her to finish getting ready.

As she walked them to the door and shut it behind them, she smiled at their thoughtfulness. If anyone had ever asked her that her three best friends would be Americans, she would have scoffed at the idea, but now, not only were they friends, but they would soon be sisters, as the Tazeem men slowly married each one.

Rene was the first to marry and so far, Cassie and Tanya had managed to hold off on their nuptials, but Adilah knew that they weren’t far behind. Of course, none of the Tazeem men could hold a candle to her Kalik.

Her Kalik. Just the thought of finally marrying the man that she had loved for so long made her giddy with anticipation. Especially given the transformation from aloof and unreachable to the doting man that he was now.

Looking up, she was surprised to see the curtains billowing in the morning breeze. Certain that those doors were closed earlier; she furrowed her brow in concern. Looking around the room, nothing appeared amiss as she shrugged her shoulders and walked across the room to shut the French doors.

Turning, she gasped in surprise to see Kalik standing in her room staring at her. He looked fantastic in his fitted black suit, which did little to mask the muscular man as he stood there with his hands in his pockets.

  Chapter 20

Grabbing the curtain, Adilah hid behind it.

“You aren’t supposed to see me in my wedding dress,” she proclaimed as she made a shooing motion with her hand to get him to leave.

“What dress?” he asked casually, leaning against the bed, his eyes never leaving her face as he watched her.

“Kalik,” she called out his name in complaint.

Smiling, “I had to see you.”

“You couldn’t wait? The ceremony is in three hours.”

  “No.”

Rolling her eyes at his short answers, she stayed hidden behind the curtain. “You need to leave,” she told
him again, realizing that he wasn’t listening.

Sitting down casually on the bed, “You know Adilah, as a man so deeply in love with you; I seem to have some short-term memory problems. So, perhaps if you take off that dress and come here, I won’t remember it when we are standing in the mosque together preparing to say, I do.”

Snorting in amusement, Adilah stared at him trying to figure out if he was serious. Realizing that he was, her eyes darkened with instant arousal. Reaching behind her, she drew the zipper the short distance down and turned so that she could wiggle out of her dress. Laying it down carefully across the tops of two chairs, she turned back toward him and paused at the look of lust splayed across his face.
