Writing this first series has been a powerful experience. When you find one of the pieces to your life puzzle you know it fits. I think I’ve felt most emotions while I wrote the three novels, joy, fear, humility, shock, lust. I could name another hundred and still not describe it fully. It shaped me in a new way. I think that’s what we should look for in life, the surprise turn.
How do you adequately thank the people who help you become what you desire? When there’s so many things in the world that work to dishearten a person, it’s encouraging to know there also exists so much good. There’s not the proper words to say how much so many generous spirits have contributed both to my writing and my life in general.
Specifically, I’d like to thank my Godchild and niece, Lara Petterson. She’s been my PA since day one. But she’s so much more. She knows how to lift me up when I’m down, and she doesn’t hesitate to tell me the truth even when I’m not going to like it. She understands so much more than I do about the business of writing Contemporary Romance. What she doesn’t know she digs to uncover. That ability is no small thing. So thank you Lara, for all you do for us and all that you are to me.
I’ve thanked my family and friends in person for the continued support they offer. I couldn’t wish, imagine or pray for a finer group to be surrounded by. Their love and affection has been the best part of my life.
A few of the women whose advice and direction I rely on and respect, Cara Arthur, Keshia Langston and Mandi Beck have gone beyond anything hoped for. They’ve helped me in whatever way they can, and they do it with kind and generous hearts.
My extraordinary Betas, Jillian Toth, Tara Ross, Jamee Wick, Melissa Erickson, Misti Sonntag, Letitia Sidon, Tricia Goyette, Lara Ross, Amber Boyd, Sonya Chilcote and Laura Donahoe have offered their input and knowledge of story. But I know their support is just as valuable to my success.
Some of the women who are part of my writing world have never seen me, and I’ve never even spoken to them on the phone. Our communication exists solely online, in the land of texts, Facebook posts and PM’s. These are unique relationships where we are joined by our love of the written word. But as time passes, I feel those links strengthen into something more. I’ve started to call them my friends and I hope they feel the same. I thank each of these smart women for the generosity of their knowledge about the world of Contemporary Romance. It’s a land you need many guides to navigate. They are my Magellan’s and my Columbus’ going ahead of me in the same direction. Thank your sweet giving souls.
And finally, I thank my husband Don. He’s the center of my Universe and the reason I’m so drunk with love.
