The Nephilim Imperatives: Dark Sentences (The Second Coming Chronicles Book 2)

“There they come,” Cassie said, pointing to the group of seven people walking toward them.

Kristi Flannigan turned loose of Clark Lansing’s hand, then jogged behind Morgan, who hurried to Cassie’s side, leaving the others trailing them.

“Did you know some of these places –especially in the old city—are built upon 30 layers?” Kristi said with little girl-like excitement, letting her eyes fleetingly meet those of Randall, David, and Cassie.

Morgan grabbed her friend’s arm and shook her playfully. “Do you know who you’re telling that to, girlie?”

“Oh, yeah. Sorry, Dr. Prouse,” she said, giggling.

It was a terrific trip. Things that happened in the mountains of Colorado a few months before, though strong in the memory, served only as a reason to make the trip a reunion of sorts. Christmas time, basking in the ambience of the ancient place where Christ walked, taught, and gave His life for the sins of mankind on the cross at Golgotha –at Calvary—overshadowed those remembrances of the horrific goings-on in the valley beyond Xavier Pass. The youngsters obviously loved the experience, and Randall Prouse was pleased, watching them enjoy themselves.

“Looks like your idea for the trip is a hit,” the archaeologist said to Christopher Banyon, when the others stood beside him.

“Susie’s idea,” he corrected. “And, it was a wonderful idea,” Susie’s husband added, hugging her and planting a kiss on her cheek.

“Randy, I just can’t help thinking there’s a reason…a special reason for our all coming together again…and, especially since we’ve been brought here to Jerusalem.”

Susie’s words, if coming from another, would, Randall thought, mean nothing more than an expression of emotional high of the moment. Susie Banyon was… different… not one whose thoughts should be summarily dismissed.

“Oh? What you think is up?” Prouse said.

“It’s probably just nothing,” she said, her eyes taking on an uncharacteristic, far-away look while she gazed in the direction of the younger people, who, with Mark and Lori, moved nearer the excavation taking place.

“She thinks it has something to do with the babies in that…laboratory, Randy. The whole thing is so much stranger than any of the visions or dreams, or whatever, that any of us has experienced.”

Christopher’s explanation brought further thoughts to Susie’s mind.

“There was something about the little boys, Randy. I can’t describe it. They drew you to themselves. It was the eyes, I think. The most beautiful, big, blue eyes…Yet almost crystal clear with a hint of blue…”

The archaeologist began walking slowly, as did Christopher and his wife, toward the bus stop where a group was gathering. The others stopped gawking at the excavation work and hurried in their direction.

“They called them Nephals?” Randall said.

“Yes. They called the little boys the first of the Nephals,” Susie confirmed.

They all readied to step from the bus 25 minutes later. Morgan’s face brightened, her smile pleasing her father. He got out of her way, so she could be the first onto the expansive sidewalk that fronted their hotel.

She jogged toward the man and the dog he held by a leash.

  “How did he do?”

“Only ate three pedestrians,” Jeddy’s handler said. “Spit one out. Must’ve tasted bad.”

“Nigel! How can you say that about our Peanut?” Morgan knelt, hugging the canine’s thick neck, and received his wet, tongue-administered affection in return.

“You can’t talk about your future son like that,” she said, standing, embracing the Brit, their lips coming together for a moment.

“No public displays of affection!” Clark shouted from the hotel door, then disappeared through the entrance with Kristi in tow.

Christopher dropped onto the end of one of the beds in their room a few minutes later. His wife answered a knock at the door.

“You mind if I come in for a second?” Randall Prouse asked, walking in before getting an answer. He found the TV remote, pushed the on button, then channeled until he found the news program he wanted.

“You have to see this. There’s been a tremendous tsunami –in the Indian Ocean, I think. A real killer,” Prouse said.

They watched for 10 minutes while the fast-breaking story unfolded.

“They’re saying this one could be a 9.0 or better. Might kill a hundred thousand –maybe more.”

“Lord, protect the people,” Susie said in a whisper.

“I’ve been thinking,” Randy said, “about those children you say were floating in that globe-like thing.” He stood and paced, while he talked.

“Lucifer wants a people who are totally devoted to him. He would thus want to create –or counterfeit a creation—of human beings that are totally devoted to him.”

Susie and Christopher followed him with their eyes while he paced and talked. “These…boys…are the first of their kind, I think you said you were told.”

“Yes. The demon –and I know it was a demon in that man’s body—said these two children will bring in a new paradigm for earth. They are the first. One will lead the way, the other will point all others to the first,” Susie said.

“Mark said they told him the same thing. Thinks it has to do with Revelation 13,” Randall said. “The Antichrist and false prophet –the two beasts. Is it possible? Have our friends, Mark and Lori–their son and daughter, been used for … trying to fulfill this end time prophecy?”

“The son of perdition, lost from the beginning,” Christopher said.

  “What?” Prouse said.

“Jesus said in John 17:12 ‘While I was with them in the world, I kept them in thy name: those that thou gavest me I have kept, and none of them is lost, but the son of perdition; that the scripture might be fulfilled.’”

“Lost, without salvageable souls. No chance for redemption –like the fallen angels. The beast and the false prophet are the first to be cast into the lake of fire. They don’t seem to stand before the great white throne judgment for the lost.”

Christopher, squinting in concentration at the TV screen, interrupted Randall Prouse, holding his hand up for quiet. He reached for the remote and turned up the volume.

The narrator gave the news story while the video played on the screen. “…man said he was commissioned by Allah to carry out the decapitations, because his victims were part of a vision he received on top of Mount Moriah at midnight on January 1, 2000, the turn of the millennium.”

The video showed the Arab, his dark eyes flashing defiantly, mouthing words in Arabic, while the Jerusalem police forced him into a van. He spit at the cameraman, and one of the officers pushed his burnoosed head down to avoid it contacting the top of the van’s opening.

“The alleged killer has been reported to be preaching that in his vision, while standing guard when the millennium and the century rolled over, he saw two babies at the center of the Temple Mount. The children grew into manhood, while a violent storm raged over Moriah. He reportedly believes it was his mission from Allah to rid the world of the Antichrists, which he believed these men to be. The man’s name is believed to be Yusfi Shabatt.”

  A Look At: Revelations

  By Terry James

Tyce Greyson, a TV journalist and reporter, visits the Wailing Wall at the Temple Mount in Jerusalem. He is confronted by a Jewish cleric while he is photographing the area for a story he will be doing for a magazine. The Rabbi says to him: “Israel is the sign of the end.”

A blind writer in the genre of Bible prophecy is later interviewed for a book in his study by Greyson, who is a television reporter for a nearby TV station. The writer tells the story of the interview and the young reporter informs him that he is now interested in Bible prophecy. Greyson tells the writer he intends to go to Patmos in the Aegean to visit the cave of the Apocalypse where John was given the Revelation.

Greyson is given a new job as an anchor for a local station in New York City. While doing broadca
sts, Greyson has episodes, that bring on visions. While on air, he makes predictions that come true. He becomes well-known as excerpts of his “prophecies” go viral.

Greyson must fulfill the destiny appointed to him as one who is of Jewish parents. The blind writer wraps up the story in a twist that confirms it is all part of human history’s consummation.

It is a story that both he and Tyce Greyson know must be told.
