Dante's Redemption Page 5

“No, that’s why I brought sodium pentothal. You are familiar with it, no?” Before I can answer, the needle is piercing my skin and my body starts to relax against my will.

“You know, I must say that seeing you this relaxed is kind of nice for a change. Usually when I come over here, you’re all wound up and then when you’re not, we’re passed out.” She runs her fingers through my hair and I fucking hate how good it feels. It only feels great because I’m fucking drugged up.

“Don’t touch me.” I move my head to the side, removing her hand from it.

Leaning in close to my ear her voice whispers, “You like it when I touch you.” She pulls away and stands straight in front of me. “Enough of this cat and mouse game. The papers. Where did you get them?” There’s something different about the way she asked this time. Her voice was a little shaky, even though she tried to cover it up. She’s more relaxed and letting her guard down. She must think because of the state she put me in, I can’t read her body language.

“Look, let’s just agree not to lie to one another. Wherever the truth takes us, we will deal with it when and how we need to.” I propose.

“And why would I agree to that?” Her hip pops out to the side as she places her hands on them.

“Because you have me at a slight advantage. What am I going to possibly do to you? I’m tied up, drugged up, and not to mention, fed up and I would like to go the rest of the evening without any more needles in my neck, thank you. Just answer me one question.” She stares at me not giving me a yes or no. “Are you a cop?”

“I sell guns. You already know this.” Her tone is firm and her answer is quick.

  “Okay then, answer me this.”

“You said one question. You asked, I answered.”

“Humor me.” I raise an eyebrow at her, challenging her. She has never been one to back down from a challenge and I know she won’t start now. “What’s with the two high schools? If you are who you say you are, why is it that you have two diplomas, both graduating the same year? You know, if I didn’t talk to Brandon, I would have no idea where to begin looking. He told me about the first time you walked into the bar wearing a badge. Now I can see how he would believe that you were playing cops and robbers, but I didn’t buy it. Not for one second.”

“You fucking talked to Brandon! Are you shitting me?” Her hands go up in the air as she starts pacing the floor. Placing her palm on her forehead she lets out a sigh. “Who else did you talk to?” I don’t answer as I sit here and watch her lose her shit. I mean really, where am I going to go? I may be tied up, but it seems like I have the upper hand at the moment. My lips turn upward and as soon as I sport a grin on my face, Ava comes charging over, punching me right in the jaw.

“God! What is your problem!?” I yell, moving my jaw back and forth. Not only can she be a huge bitch when she wants to be, but she can really pack a punch.

“You! You and that smug ass smile I just wiped off your face, is my problem. Luckily for me, I’m good at taking care of problems.” Pulling out her phone, I have no idea who she could be calling. She never confirmed nor denied that she was a cop, so for all I know she could be calling Angelo. I can’t let her make any calls.

“Wait,” I yell out, leaning forward and feeling the cuffs pull tighter on my wrists. Any other time I would find this kinky as shit, but not today. Snapping her head at me, her hand pauses above the phone. “I have a feeling that you’re a cop. I’m going to go out on a limb here and go against my better judgment.”

“I’m listening.” She shifts her weight onto her other leg.

Letting out a deep breath, I make my move. An idiotic one at that. “I’m a cop.”

Ava breaks out into laughter. “Bullshit.”

“Really, I am. The only reason why I’m telling you this is because I have a strong feeling that you are too. If you don’t believe me, dial this number.”

“I’m not calling anyone. First, you tell me you’re a cop, which if you are, you’re looking to arrest someone, and that’s not going to be me.” She’s pointing her finger at herself. “Second, how do I know if I do call this number, I’m not calling my own personal hit squad on myself.”

  “Because you know me.”

“That’s just it! I don’t know anything about you. Sure I know how to get you off and how you take your coffee, but that’s it. Other than that, I don’t know jack shit.” Sitting at the end of the bed, she places her head in her hands and lets out a scream.

Nudging her with my foot to get her attention, she looks over to me. “Do me one favor? Think of all the times we’ve hung out at the bar or at our places. Did anything at all scream that I’m some kind of dirt bag or shady? Did I ever give you any reason as to why you couldn’t trust me if you needed to?”

  “No.” She says silently.

“Then call this number and put it on speaker phone. Please.” I plead. She stares at me for a moment before agreeing. I give her the number to dial and the phone rings.

  “Riggs.”

“Joe, it’s Dante.” I greet him back, keeping eye contact with Ava. She is watching me closely with her finger hovering over the end button. I don’t try to pull anything shady because I know she is waiting for it.

“Where have you been? I’ve been trying to get a hold of you.”

“I’ve been a little tied up.” I laugh because I’m being literal and he will see that shortly. “Can you meet me at my new place?”

“Absolutely not, too risky. Why would you even consider that?”

“Well it’s like I said, I’m a little tied up. Just do me a favor, come alone.” I’m met with silence on the other end of the phone. “Joe, are you still there?”

“You only call me Joe when it’s bad. Give me ten minutes and I’ll be there.”

Closing my eyes, I thank God that he agreed to come. “Thanks, Joe. I’ll see you soon.”

“Dante? Are you okay, son?” You can hear the concern in his voice and I hate that I have him worried. The last thing I want to do is stress him out.

“I’m good. I’ll see you when you get here. Oh, and one more thing. If a smoking ass brunette answers the door, she’s off limits, old man!”

“I don’t even want to know. I’ll see you soon.” He hangs up and Ava puts her phone down on the bed.

“Can you uncuff me now? I didn’t do anything sketchy and you know you can trust me now.” I pull on the cuffs twice.

“I don’t know anything. All I know is some guy named Joe is coming here. I also know, that if things go south with this guy, my chances are better with you restrained.” Getting up off the bed, she walks out of the bedroom, closing the door behind her. I look at the closed door and yell, “Can you grab me some ice for my jaw?”

“NO!” Banging my head back against the bed, I wait for Riggs to come and hope he is gentler on me than Ava was.

Waiting for Riggs to get here, I hear a bunch of ruckus, sounding like it’s coming from the kitchen. After all the banging settles down, I hear a sizzling noise as an aroma travels through the house filling the air. I take a whiff and can’t believe what is going on. She’s fucking cooking bacon! Not only did she tie me up and leave me horny, but now I’m fucking hungry. A grumbling noise escapes my stomach. I’ve never been more relieved to hear a knock on the door.

The last few days, I added some furniture to my place but not much, so there’s still a slight echo in the house, allowing me to hear the interaction between Joe and Ava.

“Hey, you must be Joe. I’ve heard so much about you. Come on in.”

  “And you are?”

“Oh my gosh.” She lets out a little giggle. “Where are my manners? I’m so sorry, I’m Ava.” Wow, she’s really laying it on him thick. “I made some lunch. I’m not sure if you’re hungry or not, but you’re more than welcome to join us.” I can’t let him eat that.

“I wouldn’t risk it if I were you! She’s a horrible cook!” I yell out to the other side of the door. Footsteps start movin
g across the floor. I stare at the door and see the knob turning. Entering the room, Joe is first and Ava is right behind him. He pauses mid-step and covers his eyes.

“What the fuck, Dante? I don’t care what you do on your free time, but I don’t want to see this shit!” He uses his free hand to wave in my area.

“Yeah, about that. We may or may not have a problem. My gut tells me we don’t, but I need you to confirm what I told this lovely lady here.” He uncovers his eyes and glares at me.

“What kind of situation?” Glancing back and forth between Ava and myself, he waits for me to answer.

Looking at Ava, I plead to her. “Can you please uncuff me? I already got sucker punched once today, I’d like to be able to dodge his if you don’t mind.”

Rolling her eyes she lets out a huff pulling a gun, my gun, out of her waist. Riggs immediately stands between me and the gun holding his hand out to her.

“Whoa, I don’t know who you are, but you need to put the gun down.” Riggs instructs her.

“I’ll uncuff you, but I want answers. Real answers. None of this runaround bullshit. And if you try anything, I will shoot you both.” Reaching into her pocket, she pulls out the keys and tosses them to Riggs. “Uncuff him and sit next to him, if you try to move, I’ll shoot you both in the knees. Understood?” I nod at her as Riggs inserts the key and turns it. The sound of the clicking is a relief as the cuffs release my hands. I rub my wrists and shake my head at the red marks on them.

“Now, can someone fill me in please?” Riggs asks in annoyance. Ava and I exchange glances clearly, not knowing who should start first, so I do.

“Well as you know, this is Ava. Ava and I have had an arrangement for quite some time now.”

“What kind of an arrangement?” Riggs asks.

“One where we fuck, no strings, just fucking. Can we move this along?” Ava’s bluntness takes Riggs by surprise as his eyebrows shoot up and eyes go wide. He keeps looking back and forth at the two of us as I continue.

“What she said. Anyway, we never really bothered getting to know each other since we had the ‘no strings’ shit and all. I met with Sal this morning,” Riggs head snaps in my direction. I hold my finger up, stopping him from whatever he’s about to say to me so I can continue, “the meeting went well and when I was about to leave, his next meeting pulled up.”

“Let me guess, that meeting was her.” He points over to Ava who takes a quick look out the window, still holding the gun up.

“Yeah. Listen Riggs, I know you’re going to be pissed. She knows who I am. I had to tell her.” I stop talking to give him a chance to speak but am met with silence. His breathing is getting heavier and his face is starting to turn a brighter shade of red.

“I’m not pissed.” He says and I let out a sigh of relief. “I’m fucking LIVID!” His voice booms through the room, causing Ava to jump. “How could you be so stupid? You, Dante, I choose you for the job. You had no attachments and I had complete faith you wouldn’t fuck this up! My job is on the line and I chose the one person I knew could pull this assignment off without any problems. How could you be so careless?! It hasn’t even been a week!” He looks to Ava. “I’m getting up now, so if you want to shoot a captain, then by all means, but if I continue to sit here, I’m going to punch the son I never had in the damn face!” Riggs stands and starts to pace the floor.

“So he really is a cop?” Ava questions Riggs.

“Yes, tell me, how do you come into play in all this. And why the fuck was he tied up?”

Ava walks over to where I’m still seated on the bed. The mattress sinks a little as she sits next to me. Handing me the gun, she sighs. I can tell this is her sign of good faith that she trusts me. “The papers Dante, I need to know about the papers. Where did you get them?”

Riggs stops pacing and throws up his hands in frustration. “What papers? Will you please tell me what the fuck is going on and why you aren’t pointing the gun at her?”

“Because I’m with the FBI.” Ava answers and looks to me. “I’m sorry for drugging you… twice. I made some food, it should help you feel a little better.”

“FBI, no shit.” I nudge her shoulder, earning me a smile from her. Getting up off the bed, I head to the kitchen to satisfy my rumbling stomach. Ava gets up and follows me, leaving Riggs standing there.

“You two are fucked up. I can tell just by your interaction.” We bust out in laugher at Riggs comment.

Putting some bacon on a plate, I pop a piece in my mouth. It tastes just as good as it smelled earlier. After I get two more pieces in my stomach, I take my plate and sit next to Ava. Riggs comes out of the room, stands across from us with his arms crossed over his chest after he grabbed a bottle of water from the counter. “I’m waiting. Tell me everything that is going on.” He opens the water and lifts the bottle to his mouth.

Sitting back in my chair, I finally answer the question Ava’s been waiting for. “After I left my meeting something just didn’t sit right with me. Something in my gut just told me that Ava couldn’t be an arms dealer.” Riggs spits out water all over the counter and my now ruined food, and turns to look at Ava. She shrugs at him and uses a paper towel to wipe up the mess. “I didn’t know if my cover was blown or not, so I couldn’t go home. I went down to a bar that we usually go to and got chatty with the bartender. He told me when he first met her, she was wearing a badge. I ran out of there like a bat out of hell and went straight to Sylva’s. He did some digging and found a hiccup on her past.” Pulling the papers from Ava’s hands, I slide them over to Riggs.

  “They messed up her background.”

“Yeah, Sylva said he can fix it, he just needs to know which one to get rid of. I also asked him to work with her if she ended up being a cop. Whoever did her new identity could have really screwed her if they found this.” Taking the papers from him, I hand them back to Ava.

“How long have you been undercover?” Riggs asks.

  “Almost two years.”

“Why hasn’t there been any take downs yet?” I wonder aloud.

“I couldn’t get an in with Sal. Everything was Angelo. That meeting you saw me at, that was the first time I’ve met with him. How did you get a meeting with him so fast?” Her head tilts to the side.

“No clue. Angelo said he wanted to meet with me. If you’re just now meeting with him, maybe something’s up.”

“I need to get in contact with your director.” Riggs tells her. “If we have two agents in, we need to use all recourses possible and combine efforts. Get with our guy Sylva, make sure everything is right with your background. I don’t want anything happening to you because someone didn’t do their job right.” He turns his attention to me. “You know you’re one lucky son of a bitch right? This could have ended very badly for you. If she wasn’t an FBI agent.”

“I know.” I cut him off. Lowering my head, I can’t help but feel like I disappointed him in some way.

“I have to go. I shouldn’t be here and I’ve been here too long already. I’ll be in touch.” He walks out the door and it’s just Ava and I left in the house.

I lean over and graze my fingers down her arm. “You know, I had a rough afternoon.”

“Oh yeah?” She raises her eyebrow at me.

“Definitely. I got drugged, held against my own will and even punched.” I give her my sad puppy dog eyes; she knows where I’m going with this.

“Well, that does sound like a rough one.”

“I think since I took getting drugged like a good sport...”

“That’s up for question. I remember you yelling at me.”

“If I was yelling, it must have been a side effect from the drugs. But seeing how I was so forgiving, I think you should let me use those handcuffs on you to make it up to me.” Taking her hand, I lead her into the bedroom, not allowing her the chance to say no.

Ava doesn’t object. She knows this will be just as rewarding for her as it will be for me. When we reach the end of the bed, I stop to fac
e her. That goddamn lip of hers is between her teeth and she is looking up at me like she is hungry. I lightly let the back of my hand grace the side of her face. She closes her eyes and leans into my touch. A small moan escapes her.

She is so fucking sexy. I can’t stand it and neither can my dick. It’s so fucking hard, that it’s tenting my damn sweats. Placing both hands on her face, I pull her toward me and place light kisses on her sweet lips. Her hands slide around my waist and pull me even closer. Our kisses turn hot. My vixen is hungry.

I take no time releasing the hair tie that has her black locks piled on top of her head. Her hair cascades down around her shoulders like a black tidal wave. I gather it in a ponytail and pull downward, exposing her neck to me.

Ava’s hands slide into the back of my pants and cup my ass. This is my time to play, not hers. I lean forward and begin to kiss along her exposed neck. I pull the shirt over her head and I love that her bra is a peach lace. It is basically see through and I can see everything. Her tits are so perky, she really doesn’t even need one but damn they look delicious with this lace covering. Her nipples tighten under my gaze. My mouth waters and I kiss down between her cleavage, nipping at her soft skin. She hums her appreciation.

Grabbing her hair again, I pull back and instruct her, “Turn around.” I slowly slide her pants down and she steps out of the material when it’s at her ankles. I kiss her ass on my way back up. Stepping up to be flush against her back, I lean forward and whisper into her ear, “Kneel on the bed.”

She does as she’s told. I let her go, but lightly run my hands down her arms and gather her wrists behind her. She knows what is coming, the click of the handcuffs causes her chest to rise and fall a little quicker.

I step back and admire her, “Such a damn fine woman, Ava.”

She looks over her shoulders and her eyes are a blaze. “What are you going to do with me, Sir?”

Oh no she didn’t, my dick jumps at her sultry voice and it takes all my power, to not shove her down and fuck her senseless. I know that’s what she wants, so I’m going to hold out as long as I can.
