The White Whispers Page 2

It was a private room so they were surrounded by the sophisticated ambience of the restaurant and just each other. Morgan had never felt this pampered before, not even on her wedding night when-- No. Morgan shook her head. She wasn’t going to think about that. She was a whole different woman today.

Instead, she took her seat with a smile.

“This is so nice,” Morgan said. She didn’t know what else to say. Devon looked devastatingly handsome. His suit fit him perfect, slim and accenting his broad shoulders. His smile gleamed especially bright and white in the candlelit room. She felt a chill run down her spine. Even in her wildest fantasies, she hadn’t imagined moving to Atlanta would be so perfect.

“There’s no menu,” Devon said. “I’m having the chef bring us our favorites.”

“That sounds great,” Morgan said in a hushed voice. She didn’t know what else to say. Devon sat across from her and took her hand, looking directly in her eyes. His dark brown eyes were so intense. She couldn’t look away.

“You look great,” Devon said. “And I know I should wait until dessert but… I’m going to go ahead and do this now.”

Morgan sat there as he leaned over the table, no candle in the way of his dangling tie. She closed her eyes just before his lips brushed against hers.

It was a sweet kiss, a gentle kiss with the promise of so much more. His lips were soft and plump beneath hers. The type of lips she wanted to just keep kissing but he pulled away all too quickly.

“There’s plenty more where that came from,” Devon whispered. Morgan nodded, numbly. There was no doubt in her mind.

She was going home with him tonight.

  Chapter 4

By the time they left the restaurant, Morgan had more than the lingering taste of the delicious food in her mouth. Devon was an excellent kisser, unlike anything she had ever experienced before. His strong arms were around her, pressing her up against the side of his Mercedes. She didn’t mind the way the cool glass pressed against her back, through her thin dress. It was hot, even hotter with his body right over her and his breath fanning over his face through his nose.

She normally wouldn’t do this, right in the middle of the parking lot. But she couldn’t help it. His hands slid down the sides of her dress to cup her ass. His tongue slide skillfully over hers. She was getting lost in this, so much so that it didn’t matter that her shoes were just a little too tight after being on her feet for a little while. She only parted her lips further for his.

“You’re so sexy,” he whispered in her ear, his hand cupping her ass and giving a squeeze. “I want you to come home with me.”

Morgan grunted a yes from somewhere deep in the back of her throat. She was glad when he offered to drive. She hadn’t drank much wine but all the kissing made her feel lightheaded and dizzy.

He put her in the car and even buckled her seatbelt They didn’t speak very much on the drive back to the apartment complex but the vibe in the car was electric. When he touched her knee, Morgan thought she might be electrocuted from the inside out.

It was a very exciting feeling.

She couldn’t wait to get there.

Devon guided her to his first floor apartment, arm around her as they walked through the front door.

“Yo!” he called. No one answered but a dog barked from behind a closed door somewhere.

“Don’t mind that thing,” Devon said. “Keeping it for a friend.”

The only light they had came from the parking lot, streaming through the slats of the slightly opened blinds. Devon led her down a small hallway and pushed open a bedroom door. His bed was across the room, made up neatly with a wine colored duvet. She’d never seen a man that took such pride in keeping his room neat. But she didn’t have much time to dwell on this.

Devon was already pushing her on the bed.

She hadn’t been in this position in a long time. It was embarrassing how long she had been in a sexless marriage and now on the dating scene after the divorce well… there was no chance for a test run.

Nope, she was immediately sliding into the real thing.

But it felt natural, the way he laid himself over her body. His weight was perfect on top of her and he smelled sexy and clean and warm. She felt a stirring between her legs.

Devon grabbed the side of her jaw, firmly and aggressive in the best way. He was a masculine guy and he wasn’t afraid to show it. He tipped her head back against the bed, her curls spilling everywhere.

“The things I want to do to you…” Devon murmured. She hiked her knees up when he rubbed under her thighs, her stomach tightening with pleasure. She felt her dress hiking up to her hips as she wrapped her legs around him.

His lips attacked hers once again, tongue sliding deep in his mouth. Morgan rocked her hips up against him. She could feel his belt buckle pressing into her stomach. More importantly, she could feel his nature through his pants, rubbing up against her thin silk panties. When their mouths parted so he could take a breath she let out a needy moan.

“You like that, babe?” his deep voice caused shivers to run down her spine. She could only whimper in agreement as he started to kiss along her jaw line, down to her neck. His teeth scraped against her sensitive skin and her toes curled. All of a sudden, her dress felt too tight. She couldn’t breathe.

He moved away and she opened her eyes. Morgan bit her lip as Devon looked her over.

“Turn around,” he said, quietly. She rolled over, pressing her face against the duvet. He unzipped the back of her dress very slowly, kissing a trail down the center of her back, his lips touching her each time he pulled the zipper down and exposed a new swatch of skin.

“Oh…” she moaned quietly under his touch. His large hands tugged on the straps of her dress gently, pulling it down and sliding it off from underneath her so she was exposed, lying there in just her bra and panties.

“Exquisite,” Devon said. He kissed the small of her back, right above the curve of her plump ass. She had never felt so beautiful before.

“How do you feel?” he asked. This was something else she wasn’t used to. He was actually checking in with her, not just ripping off her clothes.

“Great…” she breathed. He eased her panties down and then she felt his fingers between her legs.

Morgan forgot herself for a moment. She moaned. Loudly.

Devon didn’t seem to mind. He only chuckled and pressed inside of her deeper. Morgan eyes flew open as she moaned again. She hadn’t felt this before. Everywhere he touched sent another jolt of pleasure through her body. Her nipples were hard against the padding of her bra and when he finally pulled her panties all the way off they were damp and sticky.

  It felt amazing.

Devon breathed against her, kissing his way to the back of her neck before flipping her over once again. She stared up at him fully clothed when she was only in her bra. Morgan couldn’t help squirming. She felt so ready and raw between her legs, so ready for him.

“You want me, baby?” Devon asked in a deep, low voice.

Morgan was taking shallow, deep breaths as she nodded yes.

He slid his suit jacket down his shoulders, dropping it on the floor. Devon’s shirt came off next, exposing a set of abs that made her gasp. His pecs were hard and perfectly defined. His skin was so smooth and clear that she wanted to lick him all over, like he was actually made of dark chocolate.

But he wasn’t done yet. He took off his pants and his briefs clung to his thick, masculine thighs.

  That wasn’t the best part.

She couldn’t help staring when he was completely naked. It was dark, but it was easy to see how big he was, his manhood displayed proudly in front of her. He was obviously ready.

  Completely turned on by her.

Seeing him in that state gave Morgan a burst of confidence. He sat up, unhooked her bra, tossed it aside and then pulled him down on top of her. When she felt him rub himself against her center she thought she was going to come right then.

; It had been a really long time.

Devon pulled her into him, crushing her breasts against his hard body as they kissed, harder now, passionately, every lap of their tongues in each other’s mouths tinged with lust and need. She was breathing hard, holding onto him, her fingers digging into his back as his mouth enveloped hers.

They didn’t let up until her chest was burning and he pushed her back on the bed. She watched him, eyes glued on his manhood as he rolled on the condom.

“You ready for me, baby?” Devon asked.

Morgan nodded, her breasts heaving with every sharp breath. She shivered once he was so close to her again. And then… she felt him slide inside of her.

It had been a while but he made it easy. He made it feel really good. It was the perfect fit as her body stretched to meet his. She wrapped her legs around him and he called them gorgeous. They kissed as he rocked inside of her. It felt exquisite, pleasure filling her entire being. It was all she could focus on, his weight on top of her, his scent filling her nostrils, his grunts of pleasure echoing in her ears.

She was panting and moaning. Every time he thrust forward she felt another jolt of pleasure from a spot she never knew about before. It didn’t take long until she could feel it building up inside of her. Something she hadn’t felt in a long time. She was dizzy and on the edge of something very wonderful and intense.

  It made her feel alive.

“Ahhhh!” she cried out. She was so close and she knew he could feel it.

“That’s it, baby…” Devon said, encouragingly, as he continued to move inside her. “Show me how good I make you feel.”

Morgan’s breath was coming faster and faster. Her whole body was tightening, like a coil, ready to spring forward. And then… and then…

She found herself screaming out his name. Actually screaming, her voice slightly raw as her body was racked with wave upon wave of pleasure. She could feel Devon’s orgasm as well, enhancing her own. It felt like it would never end.

But it did and then she was lying underneath him, breathing hard, feeling like her world was totally changed.

  “Whoa…” she muttered.

“Never had it like that before, huh?” Devon asked. He kissed her neck, her lips. Her heart was beating so fast she felt like it would explode out of her chest.

“No…” Morgan managed to pant. “Never…”

“There’s more where that came from,” Devon promised in the dark.

  Chapter 5

Morgan stared at her phone. It stared back. The sun was bright overhead. The phone stayed blank, it’s black screen unchanging. She re-checked her text messages. Nothing. She opened the voicemail app. Nothing. She checked the ring volume. It was on high. She stares again.

  Still nothing.

  Morgan sighed.

She tried not to care. She was 37 years old. It was time to get over this and face facts. She met a hot guy. He took her out. They fucked. It was really good.

  He didn’t call.

Why would he call? It was just for fun. Right?

  She sighed again.

This was her problem. She was too old to play games. She had already been through that. Now, she just wanted to settle down. Her sister had warned her about this. There were all sorts of fast talking players in Atlanta. They wined you and dined you, had their way and then they were over it. Morgan couldn’t believe she had fallen for his game.

  It felt so good though.

Were those few moments of intense pleasure really worth being played?

Morgan stretched her legs out in front of her. She was sitting on the steps in front of her building, watching the cars drive by on a slow Saturday afternoon. Was she secretly hoping to see Devon? Well, she wasn’t about to admit that. She had her running shoes on but she wasn’t planning on running any time soon. She just wanted to feel the sun on her face. She wanted to get out of her own head.

Morgan squealed when she felt a wet nose against her shoulder. She was about to scream when the dog did not go away. But then she heard a familiar voice.

“Bingo!” he said. Then she saw Darren jogging up towards her.

“Sorry, sorry,” he said. “He gets attached to his favorite people.”

Morgan stared up at him. Darren looked better than she remembered. His smiled made her heart skip a beat, unexpectedly.

“You should keep him on a leash,” Morgan said.

“He’s an independent dog, what can I say?” Darren chuckled as he coaxed Bingo back over. The dog refused to move. “I let him listen to too much Beyonce.”

Bingo nudged her arm and then her hand. After a moment, she realized that the dog wanted her to pet him. She lifted her hand hesitantly and rested it on Bingo’s head.

“Favorite people?” Morgan echoed after a moment.

Darren’s smile was so cute and amused.

“I can’t blame him,” he said. “Bingo has excellent taste.”

Morgan couldn’t help smiling at that. At least one guy seemed to like her long term. Even if was a dog.

Then she let out a loud sigh.

Darren laughed a little, looking at her in surprise.

  “Hard day?” he asked.

“I’ve just been thinking,” Morgan said. “A lot of thinking.

“Hey.” Darren offered his hand. “It seems like you could use a distraction.” He kept his hand out, smiling at her warmly. After a moment, Morgan took it.

“Thanks,” she said He pulled her up with ease. Under that t-shirt, he was really strong. She wanted to see his biceps.

She had to stop thinking that way.

“Hey, Bingo is trying to invite you on our walk,” Darren said. “That’s why he came over here. There’s a really nice trail not too far. Would you like to come?”

Morgan was about to shake her head. But then again, what else was she doing? She couldn’t sulk over Devon forever. So instead she took a deep breath and she nodded.

“Sure,” she said. Then she looked at Bingo and held out her hand. “I’d love to go on a walk with you.”

Bingo placed his paw in her hand and barked happily. She couldn’t help laughing.

“What did I tell you?” Darren said. “You have a fan.”

  Chapter 6

Darren was right the trail wasn’t far. It was a perfect day for a walk. The sun was bright but it wasn’t too hot. There was a gentle breeze that caressed her bare arms. Darren walked beside her, walking slowly so she could keep up. He had long legs so she had to take three steps to keep up with one of his.

Bingo trotted next to him. The dog still wasn’t on the leash but no one seemed to care. Once they were on the black paved trail, they were surrounded by trees and grass. Everything was in full bloom. The only sounds were the birds chirping, the occasional buzz of an insect, and Bingo panting. It was hard to believe they were still in the city. It seemed like they had been transported straight to paradise.

“Thanks for inviting me,” Morgan said after a few moments. They hadn’t been talking but it didn’t feel bad. In fact, it was rare that she could feel comfortable being so quiet with a guy. Especially one she had just met. She didn’t think she had ever done that before.

“Oh, well it really wasn’t my idea,” Darren said. “It was Bingo’s. But I listen to him. He has good ideas.”

“Do you always talk to your dog like that?” Morgan asked, glancing over at him. She wasn’t judging. She just needed to be prepared.

“Only sometimes,” Darren said, cheerfully. He didn’t seem to be put off, even if she might be making fun of him a little bit. “But hey, a good idea is a good idea.”

Morgan chuckled a little bit. It felt good to laugh.

“Thank you, Bingo,” Morgan said, looking down at the dog. Bingo ignored her now, sniffing the dirt and all the leaves in his reach instead. Morgan shook her head. Typical.

“So,” Darren said, breaking the silence. “How did that date go?”

“What?” Morgan asked. All of a sudden her heart flew up into
her throat. What was he talking about? How did he know?

“Yeah, that date I saw you going to the other day,” Darren said. He didn’t miss a beat. “You were dressed up. You looked good.”

She wanted to blush at the matter-of-fact way he said. She looked good. But the date… no, she didn’t want to talk about that. So she shrugged and tried to blow his question off.

  “It was fine,” she said.

“He must have really appreciated you,” Darren said. “It’s not often you go on a date with a woman when she looks that good. Have you been seeing him long?”

The questions sounded innocent. Most men would just be trying to hit on her but he seemed like he was really interested. Maybe he wouldn’t hit it and quit it. No, she wasn’t going to think about that.

“Mmmm, we haven’t been seeing each other long. It was just that one date,” she said, dismissively.

“Yeah?” Darren raised his eyebrows beside her. “That’s too bad. It’s his loss. My roommate has been going through something. He went on this amazing date but he can’t seem to get it together.”

Morgan snorted. Again, he sounded like a typical man. All men, they were just typical.

  Except maybe Darren.

“Look at this,” Darren said. He crouched down on the trail and pointed in the dirt. Bingo sat beside him nicely. Morgan squatted next to him, hesitantly. She gasped when she saw a bright yellow and blue butterfly, fluttering helplessly in the dirt.

“Oh no,” she said. She’d never really felt sympathy for butterflies before but this one was obviously in distress. And it was beautiful.

She looked at Darren, nervously, but he had a plan. He leaned over and pucker his lips. Ever so lightly, he blew on the butterfly’s delicate wings. Morgan watched him. His lips were full and inviting, rounded into an ‘O’ like that. After he blew, he sat back on his haunches. Then they waited.

After a few moments, Bingo began to bark. The butterfly beat it’s wings harder and then it seemed to be gaining so height. Morgan’s mouth opened in awe as she watched the butterfly flutter and take flight. Soon, it was gone, a flash of brightness among the thicket of leaves.
