“Looks like we won,” she said to herself.
“Hm?”
“Oh, nothing. Just enjoying the party.”
Xark'ion pinched her butt with his free hand, making her squeal. “Indeed we won. And a resounding victory it is. The future is bright for all of us.”
The tingling intensified. “Especially the immediate future. What does the mighty warrior say to a coffee ritual in, say, half an hour?”
“He says that he agrees. But perhaps without the coffee.”
“Of course. We'll skip that and go straight for the final segment.”
Xark'ion bent down to kiss her hair. “I love my Earthling female.”
“And I love my lusty warrior.”
He stroked the twins across their cheeks, both at the same time. “It appears both our offspring are sleeping soundly. Do you think we can make our escape right now? Everyone will understand. The cake ritual is complete and the coffee ritual is urgent.”
Ava leaned her head back to look into his astonishingly green eyes.
The love of her life. Her Mahan. Her fated mate.
Her everything.
“Sure. Let's go.”
