Annabelle: hahaha!! K. later.
Jenna: Muah! Byeeee.
“Anna, hurry!” my mom yelled. “The movie is starting.”
Truth.
Movie night with me, my mom, Charles and Katherine, all on good terms…. was an anomaly in this household. And it wasn’t like I didn’t trust myself, but temptation was burning my hand. The last thing I needed was my lack of willpower backhanding my pride. I wanted a chill night like my life depended on it. My cellphone needed to stay behind, so I left it in my room and shut the door.
Buttery popcorn and regular cola, and bowls of candy and chocolate were set up on the coffee table in the living room. And I’ll be eating that, that, and that and definitely that. Charles was sprawled across the carpet with a pillow resting behind his head, and Katherine was cuddling with Mom on the other couch.
This was so weird.
But it was also so good.
The vibe was chill, amazing… and it was just what the doctor ordered.
As the movie started, Mom sighed out loud. “We need to do this more often. I’m so happy right now.”
As I settled against the couch cushion, getting comfortable for the next two hours, I looked at my mom and smiled. “Me too, Mom.”
Thank you for reading this book!
The next book in the Young Annabelle Series is…. IT’S ME AND YOU (Y.A Series Book 6), where the drama between James and Annabelle continues….
