Lucia made eye contact with Shaw, and he came to sit next to her. She held his hand. “Go on.”
“I asked, ‘Is everything okay? Can I do anything?’ and she turned around. Instead of eyes, she had these black gaping holes, and that sound kept coming from her. She stood, arms out toward me, dripping mud, and stepped forward. I ran. As fast as I could, I ran from her. That poor woman.”
“Are you thinking what I’m thinking?” Shaw asked, squeezing her hand.
“La Llorona,” Lucia’s response came out barely a whisper.
“And the worst part,” Dom said. “I swear she looked just like mom.”
