“Not lately. It’s been at least five minutes.”
He laughed and turned her around. “And it’s been a whole day since you’ve said you’d marry me. I can’t wait to see Cassie’s face when we tell her that her beloved Miss Tyla is going to be her very own mother.”
Happiness swelled up in Tyla. She wanted to laugh and cry all at the same time. Instead, she melted against him and whispered, “I think it’s going to rain.”
He laughed, kissed the tip of her nose and then looked up at the cloudless sky. “I think so, too.” He grabbed her hand and they ran laughing down to the softly rocking sailboat that Clay decided to rename Paradise.
