Everett Page 11

His fingers outlined the left side of my face until he reached my chin, which he grasped.

“I told you before I can’t give you more, but I can say thank you.”

  “Wha-What?”

He rose and just as I was about to scramble to rise with him, he shot me a look that urged me to stay just where he left me. Satisfied that I would follow his direction, he turned to answer the door.

  Wednesday, September 2nd Continued

I watched with wide eyes, watched as Everett pulled open the door and spoke to the man on the other side. I couldn’t make out what they were saying beyond the tenor of their voices. Everett swung the door open wider, but the man on the other side was concealed. It wasn’t until he was fully in the room that I could see our new guest.

He was tall. Not taller than Everett, but a couple inches shorter with leaner muscle tone—if his clothes were anything to go by. Despite the small space, the light didn’t seem to travel far, instead painting him in shadows that I couldn’t make out even ten feet away. His charcoal eyes didn’t hold the same fire as Everett’s. His innocent smile and rather tight limbs made him look like a lost little lamb that somehow found his way in our room. I was thankful for the turn of events, though. Somehow it’d taken the edge off the whole encounter. Instead of being focused on the fact I was naked, spread eagle for my boss, there was someone else there to help carry the burden of my nerves.

“Indigo, this is a friend of mine, Cassius.”

Everett put a healthy distance between himself and Cassius, allowing my eyes to focus on the man standing over me.

  “Hello, Indigo.”

Up close I could make out the rusty undertones of his brown skin and the fluorescent sheen of his white teeth. From the khaki pants and collared shirt I could tell he wasn’t from the area. The only people that hung around there were tourists and professionals. He was dressed too nice to be considered a tourist, yet not nice enough to be just leaving work. I didn’t recognize him from the club, so I wondered where he came from that he could arrive there so quickly.

“Indigo? Cassius is here to give you my thanks.”

“I-I don’t understand,” I said with flickering eyes darting between the man that always held my attention and the one whose presence I questioned.

Everett waved his hand to Cassius and without hesitation Cassius’s fingers moved to the buttons of his shirt, his deft fingers working them through each slit without any show of uneasiness.

“You sucked my cock, not knowing that we would cross paths again, and though we can’t have that kind of relationship now, this is my way of repaying the favor. Cassius is going to suck that beautiful cunt of yours and I am going to watch, and this all ends here. Say ‘yes, Everett’ if you understand.”

My bottom lip twitched and I sucked in my lip to sooth the tremble. I didn’t want to say yes because I didn’t want any of it to end. Knowing that it might have been the closest I would ever come to sharing something with Everett, I didn’t know if I could say no. I knew I’d regret it.

The man still undressing to my left was beautiful, with smooth skin and muscles so toned he looked like he was flexing without so much as moving a muscle. He moved toward the end of the bed and placed his shirt over the back of the armchair, all the while watching me. From his angle he could see between my legs, to the pool of desire Everett wrought from my body. Cassius may have looked unaffected up to that point, but the thickening beneath his pants let me know that we were both battling the same desire.

“Indigo? Say yes and Cassius will climb up there with you and relieve the ache storming through your womb. You want that, don’t you? Do you want him to make you feel better?”

“Yes, Everett. Please.” The needy sound in my voice startled me, but not any more than the man climbing up the edge of the bed, sleek in his movements. His gaze was locked on mine, and for a moment it felt like there was no one else in the room. Whereas he might have come in there like a puppet on a string, the man crawling between my legs was no one’s puppet—not anymore. I opened my legs wide to allow space for Cassius to sidle in between the crook of my legs. He captured my left ankle between his palms, rubbing circles into my skin as he brought my leg up to his mouth. His lips were as soft as feathers, tickling kisses up my ankle, his hands rubbing deeper the farther up my leg he drew.

Everett took a seat on the left side of the bed, resuming his position before Cassius arrived. My mind scattered with what to focus on more—Cassius’s touch, lighting a fire up my leg to my pussy, begging to be petted by either man, or the man sitting to my left that had been mind-fucking me since the moment our eyes locked on the train that night in May.

“Mmmm,” I moaned and my body rippled with the wave of ecstasy climbing through my limbs.

“That’s it, Indigo, let me hear how good he makes you feel,” Everett said while caressing the side of my face as if I were his favorite pet. Splaying my legs open wider, Cassius nipped behind my knee, causing a bevy of shocks to riot throughout my body. His grip tightened on my thigh and he shifted from leg to leg, blanketing me with his lips until no inch of skin was untouched.

“Please,” I looked between Cassius’s eyes glimmering like oil and Everett’s, which walked the fine line between uncontrollable lust and something softer, like endearment. I gripped the edge of Everett’s knee, my fingers transferring the tension of my limbs into this one touch. Everett’s face drew close to my head, dropping just above my shoulder, on the other side of my ear. I whimpered at the contact. “Please,” I whispered again. I wanted to touch him. I wanted to pull him down on top of me and have them both put out the incinerator of flames beneath my skin, but fear of his reaction kept me motionless.

“You have such a pretty pussy, Indigo. It’s my pleasure to thank you.”

I wrapped one hand over his shoulder and the other around the back of his head. His hair felt like it’d just been cut, where every strand felt coarse like horse hair but also like the softest fur. With two shaky hands I drew him in; he licked his lips displaying the hunger so evident in his eyes. I drew my hips up, thrusting forward to meet him halfway, to finally end my suffering. When his lips locked on mine, I felt the burn of tears in my eyes. I didn’t realize how much I needed this, how much I needed to feel something more than my fingers or vibrator.

“Fuuuuck, that feels so good.” I drew in a breath and focused on Cassius’s hands and how they shifted up to the apex of my legs, lingering just outside my center. They massaged me without actually touching my slit, opening me up wider for his tongue to have unfettered access to the deepest part of me. Cassius looked in the zone, eating to his heart’s content. His guttural moans vibrated through my core, and I could feel my juices flood his mouth as he slid his tongue up to my clit.

It was hard to still my hips from riding his face. He had no idea how long I’d waited for something, anything from a man. It’d been months since I’d broken up with Ryan and really after that night on the train, how could I think of anyone but Everett?

  Everett.

Delirious with pleasure, Everett kissed my neck and rubbed my shoulder—a feeling almost as good as the tongue that shimmied across my slickened flesh like butter across a hot pan. A kiss behind my ear called goosebumps to crop up across my skin. He laved my puckered flesh, bathing me in a heat that made me cry out.

In my already weakened state, Cassius chose that moment to go into hyper-drive. His tongue moved at a furious pace, his fingers splayed me open so I was completely at his mercy—my most intimate parts revealed to display how I ached to be filled. He must have spoken the language of my body because he filled me, his finger digging deep within my core. I clutched and pulled at him, tightening the walls around his digit to revel in the addition of his finger. He petted my insides, touching my detonation button with every brush of his fingers. Cassius didn’t push down to set me off, instead he lingered, rubbing the surrounding area so I was constantly aware of the one spot that could make all of my burning end.

After a few minutes of his teasing he slid another finger in.

  “Yes, more. Keep going.”

“Draw it out, Cassius.” Everett said, while peering over my hips to see Cassius eating me with vigor. He turned to me with a smirk. “We’re not on a train and we can take as long as we’d like. We better make it count.”

He brushed aside the hair that had shifted against my neck and leaned down to place a chaste kiss on my collarbone. Cassius also eased up, placing light kisses along my slit. When he reached my clit, he paused before sucking my bundle of nerves between his lips. His teeth nibbled there and I felt all of the muscles in my body coil, drawing tighter and tighter with each thrust of his fingers and pinch of his teeth.

“Your body is so responsive. I can see every inch of your need in your eyes. You want so badly to come, don’t you, Indigo?”

“Yes, Everett. Please tell Cassius to make me come.”

“I see you’re starting to understand how things work.”

“Cassius,” he said with a nod of his head.

That button that Cassius had danced around earlier? He beat against it with the tip of his fingers, drumming against my insides, sending a flurry of butterflies fluttering down the hatch. Everett caressed my neck, petting the hollow of my throat where he licked and kissed. My thighs tightened in response, trying to refrain from locking Cassius’s head tight against my pussy. I panted through the spasming of my muscles, my teeth clenching down as I staved off from coming in an epic fashion that would have me looking like an epileptic. Cassius’s tongue and fingers worked like a well-oiled machine, driving me over the edge. It was too much. I clenched my eyes to shut out the overwhelming feeling that’d come over me, but I couldn’t escape it. It was in my bones, in my core, waiting to break free.

The feeling ripped through me and I felt like my body was breaking apart and being stitched back together all in one breath.

“Oh, oh, oh.” I clutched Everett’s knee harder, using him as a buoy to keep me from sinking to the other side of immense pleasure. If I let go now, it will all be over. Everything that has been leading to this point will cease to exist and my world will go back to empty nights and meaningless days.

The tendon in my neck quaked beneath Everett’s teeth, like pieces of bamboo bending around his tongue. Somehow the feeling only seemed to heighten the sparks still detonating, prolonging the orgasm that Cassius was still drawing out with his quick fingers and skillful tongue. He took one more lick and his head lifted up, catching my eyes with a mouth still brimming with the proof of my orgasm. He smiled, wearing the sheen like a badge of honor. He dipped his head and scooted back to the end of the bed. Cassius rebuttoned his shirt and walked to the door while Everett sat upright, adjusting himself.

  “Everett.”

  “Cassius.”

Some kind of testosterone-heavy goodbye transpired between them, but I was too hazy to be consumed by anything other than the feeling still lingering inside me. I thought all I needed was a good orgasm to be rid of it, but it still existed, just out of reach, like a scratch that you can’t seem to itch.

Cassius left the room, the door softly clicking behind him. The door barely closed before Everett moved to leave.

  “Wait.”

Everett looked between the door and me as if something called to him from the other side. Like Cinderella, the clock had struck and the fairytale was now withering into rags of reality.

I clutched his knee harder, keeping him with me.

“Indigo…” he chided, “you knew what this was. I can’t give you anything else.”

I heard his words, but I could also read his face. It was just like what Tea said; his mind was getting in the way of what he really wanted, which at that moment was me.

“One kiss. Just one.” His soft budding eyes hardened like stone by my offer. His marble jaw and solid stature appeared unyielding to my receptive body.

He leaned down, every movement of his body operating in slow motion. I could see every hitch in his shoulders, hear the rustling of his pants on the sheets and the crinkle of his crisp shirt as he came closer. The bed dipped where his knee settled into the mattress. His eyes watched me the whole way down, shifting between staring at my eyes and mouth. I focused on the small gasps of breath escaping my lips.

He offered me a chaste kiss—a brushing of lips that transported me to a cloud filled with vanilla and eucalyptus and mint. His lips were dry, fusing to my freshly licked mouth. He captured my lips in his, licking against the fullness of my mouth.

  None of it felt real.

His body hovered just above mine, close but still out of reach. A distance Everett had seemed to master in every facet of his life I’d seen thus far. Submit, my mind called out as my fingers ached with a need to pull his body down atop mine. A hand washed against my face, brushing over the tendons of my neck. My muscles relaxed like sand kicked up by the rustling wind. His fingers grazed and massaged as his mouth opened over mine.

I followed his lead, allowing my lips to part at his insistence. His tongue penetrated my mouth, descending over my tongue like a thick blanket of velvet, bringing with it a craving for fall. Of nights spent keeping warm under the covers, learning a new lover’s body, with the smell of burned leaves and cinnamon pinecones drifting in through cracked windows.

As much as I loved my moment there with Everett, I knew it wasn’t enough. It would never be enough.

I wanted to fall with Everett.

As his hands caressed me there on that bed, I realized that was exactly what I had wished for. With eyes clenched tight and a tongue that beat against his with every swirl through my mouth. His hands tightened, pressing deep against the skin of my shoulders before releasing me completely. I wanted to open my eyes and find him as affected by the moment as I was. I wanted to open my eyes and have him say that something that felt so right didn’t have to end.

His lips closed, granting me one last kiss against my lips before pulling back again. His eyes roved across my body, absorbing every last detail before he finally broke the silence.

“Thank you.” His finger lingered on the crease of my bottom lip, and then he was gone.

  Wednesday, September 16th

I didn’t know what I expected to happen after our night in the hotel, but it wasn’t empty hellos in passing with next-to-no eye contact in our meetings. It had been going on for two weeks, and I was reaching a breaking point. I was desperate for his attention, screaming inside for something more than civility. I was used to the cold touch of indifference, used to seeing the void look that crossed his face when dealing with other people in the office, but I never thought after the night we shared, I would still be part of that group. I’d seen the man behind the mask, hadn’t I? I’d seen the fire spark behind those green irises, watched him burn with passion as he watched my body ripple with the orgasm that climbed through my body. He wanted me. Now, as I passed him in the office, I wasn’t so sure.

Ed and I rode the elevator down to the third floor to grab lunch at the cafeteria. The room was already filled with various people from other companies that shared the same building.

“So, when are you finally going to be able to spill the secret on who the client is?” Ed asked in between bites of his sandwich.

“I guess whenever Mr. Belford gives me the ‘all clear.’ Is he usually this secretive about projects?”

“No, I don’t think so. What’s it like working directly underneath him?”

I knew he was talking about work, but all I could see when I thought of Mr. Belford was the night spent with his hands caressing my skin and his lips hugged between mine. The thought alone made my whole body heat up. I wiggled against my chair to stamp out the ache building between my legs.

“I don’t know. He’s a bit…I don’t know, cold?” I shrugged my shoulders, not knowing the right word for him. “Cold” wasn’t the word that came to mind, but I couldn’t tell that to Ed. I was afraid if I told him what I really though
t, he’d be able to tell by the look on my face how I really felt about Mr. Belford. Controlled, that’s what he was. That’s what he exuded in everything he did. There was a moment when I saw him slip, showing me a glimpse of what it was like beneath the armor.

“Speak of the devil,” Ed said, throwing his chin in the direction behind me.

I turned around and watched as Mr. Belford grabbed one of those pre-made sandwiches before heading straight to the cashier. Not everyone in the lunchroom knew who he was, but that didn’t stop them from looking. He towered over just about everyone standing near him. There wasn’t a hair on his head out of place, not a slight wrinkle in his clothes to suggest he’d sat down once that morning. His skin was flawless, his eyes as clear as green marbles. Something about him felt untouchable, I could see it from across the room. I felt it that day in the subway. He was too perfect. Like one of those Swarovski figurines I was never allowed to touch as a child—he was just something to look at.

He reached in his pocket, pulling out a money clip filled with bills. I watched, mesmerized by his fingers flicking through the money. Those fingers that had imprinted their touch on my skin. He handed over the money and our eyes met. He held me there, staring into my eyes from across the room. Not a flicker of emotion passed his face as our eyes remained connected.

  Something inside me snapped.

“Hey, Ed, sorry I gotta cut this short. I just remembered I told Mr. Belford I’d send him over some color palettes I was looking at.”

“You better go. I’d hate to see what would happen if you don’t deliver.”

“I know,” I said, grabbing my tray of mostly uneaten food and heading to the nearest trashcan.

When I arrived back upstairs, I noticed Catherine wasn’t at her desk. I was sure at any moment Mr. Belford would be back so I had a split second to decide what I was going to do.
