“Is this seat taken?” a deep voice asked.
Baz glanced over his shoulder at the devastatingly handsome older man. After ridding his body of the bitterness he’d carried for so long, Bruga’s scars began to heal quickly. They had convinced Bruga to rejoin the land of the living dead by ridding himself of the name that had kept him in the shadows for so many years. “Hey, Draco.”
Galen leaned over and brushed a kiss across Draco’s bronzed cheek. “There’s a cutie over there checking you out.”
Draco glanced in the indicated direction and shrugged. “Maybe later.”
Baz rolled his eyes. Draco could have damn near his pick of any man in the club and he knew it.
“I said you’re done!” Cory shouted from halfway down the bar.
With their fingers entwined inside Galen’s hole, Baz and Nick couldn’t untangle themselves fast enough to react as the customer across the bar slammed his fist into Cory’s face.
“Fuck!” Nick spat, freeing himself.
Baz and Nick started to move toward the customer when Tao came out of nowhere and body slammed the guy to the floor. Baz turned his attention to Cory who was bent over, blood running from the cupped hand he held in front of his mouth.
Baz jumped over the bar and quickly retrieved a bar towel and ran it under cold water before moving Cory’s hand away. Their favorite sprite’s upper lip was split almost to his nostril. “Shit.”
“I’m okay,” Cory mumbled.
“You shouldn’t try and argue with drunks. Get Tao or one of us if someone is getting out of hand,” Baz said. He led Cory over to the sink and began washing the blood from his hands.
Baz looked over to see the drunk tossed unceremoniously over Tao’s shoulder as he was carried to the curb. How the big Samoan had reacted so fast was beyond Baz. At least he knew he wouldn’t have to worry as much about Cory. It seemed the sexy man was on Tao’s radar screen.
Baz replaced Cory’s towel with a fresh one. “You should go home and give this time to heal.”
Cory shook his head. “If I can get the bleeding stopped, I’ll be okay for the rest of the night.”
“You are one hard-headed bitch,” Baz said.
Cory chuckled. “And don’t you forget it.”
Nick came back from following Tao out and leaned on the bar in front of Cory. “You okay?”
Cory nodded. “I’m fine. Stop trying to baby me.”
Although things between Nick and Cory hadn’t been the same since their brief night together, Baz could tell Cory still carried a torch for Nick. It didn’t bother Baz because Cory was respectful enough to keep his distance, but it did make Baz feel sorry for the usually happy man. Cory deserved to find someone, and he hoped someday soon he would.
Nick held his hands out to the side and backed away from the bar. “Just checking.”
Nick looked at Baz. “You ready to dance?”
Galen stepped forward and tucked himself under Nick’s arm.
“Sure,” Baz said. He laid a comforting hand on Cory’s back. “Let me know if you want a ride home.”
“I’ll be fine on my bike,” Cory informed him.
Baz nodded and climbed back over the bar to join his lovers. “Let’s dance.”
