  “You don’t have to thank him,” said Bobby. “We both owe our thanks to one old woman and two men on the beach who saved me and Jane that day. If he was still alive, Dad would say that he was only paying back a small portion of the courage of two retirees and an ice cream vendor!”

  About the Author

  Scott M. Neuman grew up in Chicago, Illinois. He holds a degree in criminal justice from the University of Illinois at Chicago Circle, as well as a J.D. from Thomas M. Cooley Law School of Western Michigan University.

  He is a veteran of the Israel Defense Forces, where he served as a combat medic and fought in Operation Peace for the Galilee, otherwise known as the 1982 Lebanon War. He is also a black belt in Tae Kwon Do.

  In 2018, Scott Neuman published “The Nazi, the Princess, and the Shoemaker,” a historical work describing his father’s experiences surviving the Holocaust. He is currently a practicing attorney in Michigan.
