Consume (Civil Corruption Book 3) Page 2

“Like what you see, sweetness?” he taunted, wrapping his fingers around the base and pulling up until the crown disappeared into his fist.

“Hell yeah,” I murmured, licking my lips as more precum leaked out.

When I bit down on my bottom lip to keep from begging, a feral noise rumbled up from his chest, and he moved fast as lightning. Once he finished rolling the condom over the impressive length, he grabbed my waist and jerked me up like a rag doll. One second I was flat on my back, and the next I was straddling Killian Everett’s hips as he rested against the headboard.

His cock teased my entrance, drawing a whimper from my throat. “Ride me, sweetness,” he grunted. “Show me how wild my little Thumbelina can be.”

That was all the coaxing I needed. I was so ravenous for the release he kept dangling in front of me, just out of reach, that I lost all control, slamming down on his long, thick shaft instead of taking my time.

“Jesus fuckin’ Christ!” he barked, latching onto my hips as I threw my head back on a deliciously painful cry, relishing the way he stretched and filled me unlike any other man I’d ever been with. I’d never felt so full in all my life, and the bite of pain coupled with intoxicating pleasure was almost too much to bear. “You really are a wildcat.”

Killian thrust his hips up at the same time I bucked against him, causing tiny bolts of electricity to shoot through my body. With my eyes squeezed closed, I rode him without a single inhibition or flicker of self-consciousness. There was nothing but him and his body and my release drifting closer and closer. I ground down on Killian’s cock on a downward thrust, circling my hips and rubbing my clit against him.

“Look at me,” he gritted, but I was too lost in bliss to listen. I lifted until just the tip remained inside me before driving myself back down and circling again.

“So close,” I panted. “So good.”

“Fuckin’ look at me, goddamn it!” One of his hands left my hip to tangle in my hair, and he used his hold to jerk my head down. “Open your eyes.” On his command, my eyelids fluttered open to half-mast. “Want you watchin’ me when you get yourself off on my dick, Thumbelina.”

My gaze remained on him as he lowered his head and sucked one of my puckered nipples between his lips. Killian stared up at me through insanely long lashes as his tongue and teeth tortured the tight bud before moving to the next.

A broken moan escaped me at the overwhelming sensations. This was going to be the most extraordinary climax of my life, and I wasn’t sure if I’d be able to endure it.

“Killian,” I whispered in a ragged, pleading voice.

“That’s it, sweetness. Christ, I can feel you getting tighter. You got the slickest, sweetest pussy I’ve ever had.” With that, he bent his head and sucked my nipple back into his mouth, then bit down hard.

That set me off like a rocket. “Oh god, Kill!” It was one explosion after another, wave upon wave of unbearable ecstasy.

“Holy shit,” Killian grunted, and then his control snapped. Keeping himself buried deep inside me, he flipped me to my back and began rutting like a wild beast. His aggressive, dominating thrusts set me off again, and I experienced the miracle that was multiple orgasms for the first time. Until that very moment I’d thought them to be a myth, a legend, something women lied about in an effort to one-up each other.

My arms and legs circled him like steel bands, clenching spasmodically as I hovered miles above the earth.

“Shit, fuck me. Never thought it’d be this goddamn good.” Each word was punctuated with a grunt and a snap of his pelvis, and I was barely coming down from the second most amazing climax when he drove balls deep and poured himself into the condom with a long, loud roar.

I felt like I was floating on a cloud as I slowly came down. The only thing grounding me was Killian’s substantial weight pressing me deeper into the bed when his arms gave out.

Our chests heaved in tandem as we both struggled for air, our sweat-slick skin pressed together as the world righted itself.

“That was….” I couldn’t find the words to properly describe what just happened.

“Holy shit,” Killian repeated. “Thumbelina, if I knew you’d light up like that, I’d have dragged you to my bed months ago.”

I wasn’t sure why that statement made my chest grow warm and my belly flutter, but hearing that made me happier than it should have. A small, slightly hysterical giggle bubbled from my chest. “Can’t. Breathe,” I gasped, his weight finally becoming too much.

Killian rolled off me and swung his legs over the side of the bed, moving toward the open bathroom door and throwing it partially closed behind him. As the toilet flushed and the sink turned on, I turned on my side and grabbed a pillow, pulling it to my belly and curling around it as I gazed around his bedroom. I took it all in for the first time since he’d pulled me in there hours ago. He’d been so hungry, his presence so commanding, that I hadn’t taken a single look around as he dragged me through the house.

The room was expectedly masculine, with dark, sturdy wood furniture and an enormous four-poster bed. But it wasn’t overboard. The comforter, while deep navy in color, was incredibly soft. The white sheets felt so silky I didn’t even want to know the thread count. God only knew how expensive they were, and he’d tossed me around on them like it was nothing.

My warm, sated body was succumbing to everything Killian had done to it just minutes ago, and I started to doze when a slap to my ass startled me completely awake. Killian stood at the side of the bed, dressed in a pair of black boxer briefs, and stared down at me with a look of cool indifference.

“Party’s over, wildcat. Time to go.”

  Um…

  What?

  Chapter Three

  Killian

  Holy shit.

  Holy. Shit.

Never in a million years would I have thought tiny, shy Gina would burn hotter than the goddamn sun the second I got my hands on her. My dick was still twitching as I disposed of the condom and washed up in the bathroom sink. My hands trembled, my knees shook, and I had to rest my palms on the basin to stay upright.

It wasn’t supposed to be like that. I mean, I knew it would be good, but I never expected it to blow my freaking mind the way it did. She’d been so damn receptive, so alive, that the first thought crossing my mind as I climbed out of that bed was about how long I’d have to wait until I could have her again. It was that thought that had smacked me back into reality.

This wasn’t supposed to be more than a one-time gig. After all, I was a one-and-done kind of guy. No offense to the women I hooked up with; they were great, but once I got off, I got out. It was a motto I lived by, one that had been drilled into my head by my old man all my life. “No son of mine’ll be led around by the dick by some woman, you hear me, boy?”

No way in hell did I have any intention of settling down anytime soon. That was why I never did repeats. More than once, and the chick started gagging for commitment. I just didn’t realize Gina would make me so desperate for more.

“Jesus, Everett. What the hell’d you get yourself into?” I muttered to my reflection in the mirror.

I never should’ve gone there with her. Knowing I wasn’t the kind of man who could give her more, I should’ve left well enough alone. We ran in the same circle. We had the same goddamn friends, for Christ’s sake. She should’ve remained off-limits forever, but Gina’s tight little body and all that creamy skin turning red whenever I talked to her had been too much to ignore. I’d spent months denying myself something I wanted so fucking badly, and seeing her in that sexy dress and those fucking heels at the wedding pushed me over the edge.

Then she’d gone and shifted the very foundation of my entire world and made me consider things I was in no way ready to consider. I needed to get her out of there before my mind went down a road it had no business going down.

My dad’s voice echoed in my brain as I dropped my head. “Women are good for nothin’, son. Sooner you learn that, the b
etter off you’ll be.” His bitterness over my mom taking off when I was a kid had turned him into a cynical shell of a man who took his anger out on the entire female population. Once I hit my late teens, I started to believe that his bias was misplaced. But after being burned by the fairer sex one too many times, I realized that he hadn’t been off the mark. Women could be vicious, and most didn’t care about the destruction they left in their wake.

The situation a few months back with the band’s former assistant was the final nail in the coffin. Turned out she was a jealous, psycho bitch. When Garrett and his girl Gwen finally got their shit together and discovered they loved each other, Kimber had gone off the rails, leaking personal information and pictures to every gossip rag that would give her the time of day. It nearly ruined Garrett and Gwen’s relationship, and solidified my less-than-stellar opinion of women. Unfortunately, I’d learned from experience that the rewards of a relationship didn’t outweigh the risks. Better safe than sorry.

And for that reason, Gina had to go.

Standing tall, I moved out of the bathroom, snatching my underwear off the floor and slipping them back on. The first thing I noticed when I glanced at the bed was how peaceful Gina looked curled around my pillow. The second thing was how good her silky, olive-toned skin looked against the stark white of my bedsheets.

Shit. I had to stop thinking and simply react the way I always did. The way her ass jiggled when I gave it a light slap had my dick stirring to life again.

Pushing that to the back of my mind, I pasted a bored expression on my face when she turned to gaze up to me. “Time to go, wildcat. Party’s over.”

Her face blanched, and I felt like the world’s biggest asshole, but the less interest I showed, the easier it would be to get her out of my place and, hopefully, out of my head.

  Gina

“You need me to call a cab, or…?”

Oh my God. He was kicking me out. We just had sex, and now that he’d gotten off he was kicking me out. What an asshole!

“I’ll call one myself,” I grumbled as I shot out of the bed, careful to keep the sheet wrapped around me as I frantically searched for my clothes. I dressed as quickly and awkwardly as possible, trying to keep my body covered even though he’d just spent hours licking and kissing practically every inch of it. That acute shyness I usually experienced around him was gone, in its place a seething anger I never thought myself capable of.

It wasn’t that he dismissed me that pissed me off so much. I was a realist, after all. It wasn’t like I expected us to ride off into the sunset together. It was just sex. Killian Everett was so out of my league we weren’t even playing the same damn game. But I at least thought he’d respect me enough to brush me off politely. My ass was still stinging from the slap he’d landed on it.

“No offense or anything,” he continued, very unwisely. “It’s just that I don’t typically do repeats. Or share my bed. And I’m beat. You practically sucked the life outta me, sweetness.”

“Oh my—” I closed my eyes and mouth, hoping to stave off my impending blowup, but it was too late. “For the love of God, just stop talking,” I barked, whirling around to face him now that I was fully dressed. “I get that you probably think you’re giving me a compliment, but let me clear up that misconception. You aren’t.” I threw the sheet to the floor, my eyes darting in search of my shoes as I continued to rant. “Just a heads-up, buddy, I wasn’t planning on staying the night, or thinking about white picket fences with two-point-five kids and all that other crap. I’m a big girl who knew what she was getting into when I came home with you. But you didn’t have to be such a… such a… freaking prick about it!”

Killian’s hands went up in a placating gesture. “Look, Thumbelina—”

“Stuff it, jerkoff!” I snapped, sliding my second shoe into place. I hadn’t intended to speak my next words out loud. They were meant to be just for me, but my brain and mouth were no longer communicating with each other. “This is what I get for thinking I could forget about my shitty life for like five minutes and just live for once. I should’ve known better.”

“What’s that supposed to mean?” Killian asked, looking far too curious.

“Don’t worry about it. Where’s my purse?” I spun in a circle so fast I made myself dizzy.

“Whoa, hold up.” When he reached out to help steady me, I jumped back, those godforsaken shoes on my feet causing me to trip. “Gina. Christ, will you just stop for a second?” That time when he grabbed me, I had nowhere to go. “What did you mean when you said you wanted to forget your shitty life?”

Trying to pry my arms from his grip was pointless. Killian had decided he wanted me right where I was, so I was stuck. The man was over a foot taller, and at least eighty pounds of pure muscle heavier.

  “Don’t worry about it.”

His frown could’ve melted ice. “Then why’d you say it?”

Doing my best to mimic his expression, but more than likely coming up short, I replied, “I didn’t mean to say that out loud, so don’t worry about it. It’s none of your business.”

His fingers spasmed, pressing deeper into my skin. “Hate to break it to you, wildcat, but you made it my business when you said it loud enough for me to hear while standing in my room after I just fucked you six ways to Sunday.”

It felt like there was a volcano in my stomach on the verge of erupting. First he couldn’t keep his hands off me, then he smacked me on the butt and sent me on my way, and now he was demanding to know my personal secrets? It was enough to give anyone whiplash.

My eyes formed vicious slits as I seethed, “And you lost all say in anything having to do with me when you so gallantly slapped my ass and informed me the party was over. Now, let me go so I can call a cab like you wanted. Oh, and don’t worry. I have absolutely no intention of begging you for a repeat of tonight. You might’ve been good, but you weren’t that good.”

I managed to get one arm free, but he kept the other in a death grip. “The fuck’s that supposed to mean?”

A bubble of laughter burst past my lips. “It means that the orgasms weren’t worth dealing with your condescending ass.”

He moved so fast, bringing us nose-to-nose, that I sucked in a startled breath. “Hate to break it to you, Thumbelina, but I’ve never had a complaint in my life. You should know, that greedy pussy of yours nearly killed me, but I’m willin’ to refresh your memory if necessary.”

“Wow,” I breathed, my eyes going wide. “Thank you.”

“For what?” he asked as his chin jerked back into his neck.

“For doing me a favor by kicking me out of your bed. I have enough shit of my own to deal with. Last thing I need is some egotistical jackass with an inflated sense of self-worth playing head games. Now, are we done?”

Killian dropped his hand and took a step back, staring at me like I was a complete stranger. The air in the room felt like it dropped ten degrees as his entire demeanor went frosty. “We’re so done.”

  “Thank God for that.”

I didn’t hang around long enough for the frigid temperature to seep into my bones. Spinning on my heels, I spotted my purse and snatched it off the floor. Then I charged out of the bedroom and through the house without taking anything in as I dialed a local cab company.

I wanted to get out of that house as fast as humanly possible.

And I never, ever wanted to see Killian Everett again.

  Chapter Four

  Gina

  Now

Pushing through the heavy glass doors, the smell of antiseptic assaulted me, causing an uncomfortable sting in my nostrils. The place reeked like a hospital, stinking of disinfectant and death. I hated that smell. I wished I could’ve put her someplace better, someplace livelier, but Whispering Pines was the best I’d been able to do with my meager income.

At least the staff cared about the patients, which was more than I could’ve asked for on my almost nonexistent budget.

  “Morning, Lucille.”
r />   The kindly old lady’s head popped up from the computer at the front desk and a bright, white smile spread across her face, stark against her midnight skin. “Gina! Looking just as lovely as always, my dear.”

I offered her a grateful grin. Even though I hated coming to this sterile, sad place, and even though I’d been having another bad day in a string of bad days that seemed to last the past few years, I couldn’t hold onto my grudge against the world whenever in Lucille’s sweet presence. She was too kind and calming, spreading that to all those around her.

“Thanks, Lu. How’s she doing today?”

When her face fell and her eyes grew sympathetic, I knew I wasn’t going to like the answer. “Today’s not a very good day, I’m afraid. She woke up extremely agitated.” She hesitated for a beat before adding, “We had to sedate her.”

My heart fell to the floor. “That’s the third time this week. I was hoping the new meds would help.”

“Just give it time, sweetie. You still want to go back and see her?”

“Yeah,” I whispered, moving closer to the desk so I could sign in. With a few parting words, I headed down the hall. Pushing the door to the room open, I noticed sunlight seeping in, casting the room in a warm glow. Whispering Pines might not have been a resort, but they did their best with what they had, making things as comfortable and homey as possible for the residents.

Pulling the chair from the corner toward the bed, I sat down and started speaking in a quiet voice, not wanting to disturb her sleep. “Hey, Mom. It’s me.” She didn’t so much as stir when I reached up to take her hand. Whatever they had her on was strong, which meant that her episode earlier that morning was even worse than I thought.
