Adora? Randor’s mental voice alerted her and her heart rate sped up once more.
Are you okay?
I eliminated the attackers, but they’ll no doubt send more. Where are you?
Adora hesitated for a moment. While there was no doubt in her mind Randor was her soul mate, she didn’t trust him one hundred per cent. This hideout was the one place she felt absolutely safe and alone. If Randor proved untrustworthy…
You can trust me, Adora. He told her as if reading her thoughts. If you want, you can restrain me when I get there. I just need to see that you’re safe.
A smile played on her lips. The thought of having Randor restrained and helpless while she had her way with him was a very tempting one.
Through the forest, head north until you meet the river. Then run right. I’ll meet you at the end.
For thirty long seconds, Adora waited at the ravine’s edge for Randor to arrive. The second she saw him, her stomach twisted. His clothing was dishevelled and a thin layer of dirt and dark red and green smudges covered his body. A mixture of faery and elf blood.
His eyes were filled with concern when he reached Adora and gave her a once over. With her dress torn and ripped, covered in dirt from trees she’d brushed by, she must have appeared worse for wear.
“I’m fine. Quick,” she spoke quietly, “follow me.”
Grabbing his hand, Adora led him over the invisible path and inside the hideout. Once the door shut, she spun around and laid her hands on his chest, using her magic to find his wounds so she’d be able to heal him.
“Adora.” Her name sounded like the sweetest word imaginable when it came from his lips. His hands came to wrap around her wrists. “I’m not injured.”
Her chest deflated with relief and she rested her forehead on his. “Thank the gods.”
A smile spread across Randor’s lips at her words. “You were worried about me?”
She removed her hands from his grip and slapped him on the chest lightly. “Don’t ruin the moment, Assassin. Just kiss me.”
Clearly, he didn’t need to be told twice. With fierceness that didn’t compare to the kisses they’d shared earlier, he claimed her mouth. Arousal flooded Adora’s body and she opened her mouth, groaning when he thrust his tongue in to massage her own.
She ran her fingers through his hair, pausing when she found tangles. Pulling away, she licked her lips and looked at his desire-filled blue eyes. Ignoring the need to jump him and fuck him until the sun set, she examined his hair. Her fingers had caught in tangles of blood, dirt and sweat. Ew.
“You need to clean up.” When he narrowed his eyes at her, she added, “And so do I.”

Randor followed his princess as she sauntered across the large cave. It was more like a human’s living room than a cave. Portraits lined the walls, rugs lay on the stone floor, and several elegant lounges and chairs sat in the room in a square formation to face each other. At the very edge of the room—where the sound of running water was coming from—there was a large pool of water with a waterfall.
Adora turned with a sultry smile. “You never got to have that shower you were after. I hope swimming in a warm spring water pool will suffice.”
To his surprise, Adora’s hands moved to slip under the collar of his jacket. She undid the zipper and pushed the jacket off his shoulders. Her hands moved to the bottom of his T-shirt but he stopped her from pulling it up. The moment her fingertips touched the skin of his abdomen, arousal tore through his body like a wildfire.
Calling to his magic, Randor gave her a wicked grin as he removed her clothing. She eyed him for a moment, the sultry smile turning into a playful one, one that had him wondering just what was going on inside that unique little mind of hers. He watched with a keen eye as she turned on her heel and sauntered toward the pool.
His cock hardened when she turned to enter the pool. The woman’s body really was extraordinary. Her long slender legs led to a round, biteable ass and toned, yet soft torso with perky full breasts that he couldn’t wait to…
That was as far as his thoughts got. He tore off his T-shirt and pants and joined her in the pool.
Making quick work of the steps, Randor barely noticed the soothing warmth of the clean spring water. His eyes never left Adora. She was waist deep in the pool and turned around to look at him.
“I don’t suppose you could use your magic to conjure up some hair pins, could you?”
Holding out an open palm, he created some small, basic black pins and held them out for her. He never figured out how he created the things he did. His mother always told him some things “just were” and he shouldn’t question them. Though she was human, she spent most of her life around the Fae and had a great understanding of how the world worked.
Adora waded to him, scooping her thick golden hair into her hand. She picked the pins from his palm with wet fingertips.
Her breasts jutted out as she manoeuvred the pins into her hair, her hands behind her head. Randor took advantage of the position she was in and brought both hands up to cup her creamy breasts.
She was a stunning being, rumoured to be the most beautiful Fae that had ever existed. He knew now why those rumours were around. As he ran his thumbs lightly over her rosy pink nipples, goose bumps erupted over her skin, bringing a smile to his face. He bent and closed his lips around one tip, suckling until it became hard. Adora’s groan of desire had his cock at full salute, throbbing and twitching. This woman did things to him that no other did.
Blood rushing through his veins spread desire and arousal to every cell in his body. He covered one breast in kisses and love bites before moving onto the other. Adora’s hands came to rest on him, one on his shoulder, the other cradling his head and holding him to her body. He removed his mouth from her breast and gave her a satisfied grin when the motion pulled a whimper from her.
“Don’t get too cocky, Assassin,” she said, her voice husky. “We’re not going further until you wash that blood from your hair.”
Randor let out a bark of a laugh and grinned at her. His Princess would be the end of him.
Chapter Five
Begrudgingly, Randor gave in and allowed Adora to clean the blood from his hair. The feel of her fingers massaging his scalp was indescribable. He’d never been completely intimate with a woman before. He’d slept with plenty, even carried on relationships, but had always held back with the intimacy that loving another brought on. Being the sexual creature that he was, he’d never had an issue with it. He was always happy to get his release, have his fun then move on. It was, after all, the way of the Fae.
The princess was definitely unique and he didn’t doubt his want to live out the rest of his days with her by his side. When she ran her fingers through his hair one last time, he sighed. It didn’t seem to matter where she touched him. Sparks of arousal and desire tore through his body at the contact.
Turning, Randor came face-to face with his beautiful soul mate and smiled. Her eyes sparkled and her lips were slightly parted.
“Now may we continue?”
With a wicked grin, she wrapped her arms around his shoulders. “Do with me what you wish, Assassin.”
Randor smiled and scooped her into his arms before wading forward until he had her pinned between his body and the rock wall. His fingertips danced over her naked skin, tracing small patterns down her back, along her waist, and down her abdomen until he found the burning juncture of her thighs. Keeping his eyes on her, he watched her response as he caressed the soft skin of her folds. She bit on her bottom lip when he parted them and two fingers delved inside.
He pulled out and ran a small circle around her clit before plunging them deep inside her slick channel. With a gasp, Adora’s eyes shut and her head dropped forward to rest on his shoulder. Randor pressed his lips to her slender neck before biting down gently on the tender skin. Her inner walls clenched.
“Like that, do you, Princess?”
She responded with a mewl and tig
htened her arms around his neck. That pleased him more than she’d know. He continued his ministrations until her breaths became short pants and her inner walls and thighs clenched around him and he anticipated she was on the verge of losing control. The very moment he removed his fingers, Adora pulled her head back and looked at him. He lifted her and she wrapped her legs around his waist, cupping his face in her hands. He captured her mouth in a ravenous kiss and thrust his cock into her pussy.
Adora came a moment later. Her muscles clenched around him, holding his cock like a tight fist. Her whimpers were lost in his mouth. He swallowed them eagerly as he continued to thrust in and out of her silken core.
Sliding into her was like coming home. It felt right. Randor buried himself to the hilt and shifted his position, widening his feet a bit and angling his hips forward. Adora’s grip tightened even further and her tongue wrestled his for dominance. He plunged in again and was rewarded with a keening cry from her.
Randor growled and buried his face in her neck as he fucked her hard and fast. Sex had never felt so good. He pounded into her, changing his position at small increments until he found the spot inside her core that literally made Adora scream.
Her fingernails bit into his back and her teeth grazed his neck.
“Come with me, Assassin,” she breathed into his ear.
Rubbing her clit, Randor slammed his hips to hers and felt her muscles clench around his cock. He came moments after her, letting an almighty moan out as her inner muscles milked him until he was completely dry.
Holding her close, he panted and enjoyed the soft kisses she peppered across his shoulder and up her neck.
“Well, hell,” Adora panted, “I think I’m spent.”
Randor pulled his head back and smiled. “So am I.”
Glistening with sweat and water, her skin gleamed. Loose tendrils of hair curled with moisture and framed her face. He was a goner. He’d never be able to function without her in his life. He could have stayed nestled inside and around her for hours, but they had things to tend to.
Apart from the fact that he had gone against the Unseelie queen, he apparently had the Unseelie army’s soldiers after him. He wouldn’t risk Adora getting hurt because of him.
“But before we get out,” Randor continued.
“Wha…”
He thrust his fingers inside of her pussy again and she stopped speaking. Her eyes rolled back in her head and she bit her bottom lip. Within seconds she was on the verge of climax again.
Damn she was beautiful when she came.

After drying and composing herself, Adora rummaged around the food and water emergency supply she always kept in case she was holed up in the hideout for an extended period of time. Returning to the lounge area with water, she paused for a moment and took in the sight before her.
Randor, in all his naked glory, was sprawled out on the lounge, a piece of fresh fruit in his hand. Adora watched as he bit off a piece, juice sliding over his lip to his chin. Sliding his tongue out, he licked it up, the movement sending a shudder throughout her.
She was a goner. She might have thought the whole soul mate deal was ridiculous before meeting Randor, but now she understood. For the rest of her life, she’d have him by her side. No matter what they went through. That much she knew.
Randor eyed her as she entered his line of sight and stretched his arm out, gesturing for her to join him.
“Quite handy, aren’t you?” he murmured into her hair when she lay beside him.
“Never know when I’ll need to bunker down here for a while.” She stretched her leg over his, running her foot up and down his calf. “After all, I’ve got assassins after me.”
Looking at him through her lashes, she caught the flash of regret in his eyes before he blinked and gave a small smile. “I’m not sorry I kidnapped you.”
With a small smile, she retorted, “I’m not sorry I stabbed you.”
He shifted back and stared. “Why?”
“If I hadn’t stabbed you…” She leaned forward, her lips grazing his as she spoke. “I wouldn’t have healed you and found out we were soul mates.”
His brow creased into a small frown of concern. “Did you sleep with me to get away from me?”
Adora didn’t know whether to feel hurt or offended. They had just had two marathon sessions in the hot spring pool where she’d clearly shown him how she felt about him. She let herself go in a way she’d never done before. “Excuse me?”
“At my house you said it wasn’t the first time you’d slept with someone to get what you wanted. Did you fuck me in the bathroom to get away from me?”
“Oh.” That. With a little smile, she turned to face him, throwing her leg over his waist. “That I did because I had to get rid of the arousal that had built inside of me. From the second you touched me it had been burning and I was getting hotter and hotter.”
Her body reacted to being so close with him naked, core wet in an instant, tingles running along her limbs and settling in her stomach.
“Just like now.”
She reached her tongue out and licked his bottom lip, tasting the sweet fruit he’d just eaten. Randor awarded her bold move by groaning and gripping her butt, yanking her until she was on top of him.
“Good” was all he said before he claimed her mouth in a kiss so dominant it had her insides warming and set her arousal soaring.
“One more, then we rest,” he breathed against her lips. “We have a hard fight ahead of us.”
Hours later, Adora woke to find herself tangled in Randor’s limbs. Looking up, she found him staring down at her adoringly. She leant up and kissed him softly before snuggling against his frame, revelling in the feel of a warm sexy body against hers for once.
While enjoying the silence, Adora felt the need to ask a question that had been on her mind since she’d found out her was part human. “You said your mother was human?”
“Mmhmm.”
“What happened to her?”
“She died,” he replied simply, his voice void of emotion.
“And your father?”
“He was fae, that’s all I know.”
She had the feeling there was more to the story and wanted to pry, but at the same time knew he’d tell her when he wanted.
“So what’s your connection with the elf and queen?” Adora noted the look of mild irritation on Randor’s face and followed up. “I’m just trying to understand how you became an assassin who was allowed to leave the army.”
“Elvira raised the two of us–Kiel and I. The king allowed me to leave because of the circumstances in which I was raised…”
She looked at him, waiting for him to continue. He just looked blankly at her, eyes narrowed.
“There’s a reason I’m the most feared assassin in the land, Princess.”
He shuffled and removed his arm from around her before sitting up.
“We should get ready. The sooner we get going, the sooner we can be free.”
Adora tried not to focus on the hurt and annoyance at Randor’s dismissal and got herself dressed. She found a combat outfit she left in the safe house in case of emergencies and equipped herself with all the weaponry she could find.
Randor conjured up his own spare clothing, choosing an outfit almost identical to hers. He wore fitted pants and a long sleeved shirt, all black, with scabbards and sheaths for knives and blades that she didn’t realise he’d had on him earlier. He looked absolutely mouthwatering.
No time to get caught up again. Keep discussing the plan.
The two of them leaned against the back of the lounge, finishing off their quick breakfasts while triple checking their arsenal.
“So those who attacked you yesterday…”
“Were sent by the Unseelie queen,” he answered her question before she asked it. “Elves and Fae. Some of whom I used to fight alongside.”
Hurt flashed in his eyes momentarily. She was about to reach out and say something comforting
but his eyes glazed over with a cold harshness that she only recognised because she had the same expression. He was ready to fight. Pushing off the lounge, she stood, one hand on the scabbard of her sword, the other hanging loosely by her side as she clenched and unclenched her fist.
“So we enter the castle, then what?”
His lips twitched as he obviously recognised her stance. “First of all, I have to take your sword. If we enter the castle and you’re armed, they’ll know something’s up.” Begrudgingly, she unhooked her belt and handed it and the sword to him so he could don it himself. “The Unseelie queen has apparently had Maleficent, her witch, searching for us. It’s the only explanation I have for why we were attacked immediately after stepping through the portal.”
“Or your elf friend isn’t as trustworthy as you thought.”
It was harsh, but it needed to be said. Randor nodded, the only acknowledgement he gave that she’d spoken as he continued his thoughts.
“Maleficent is too powerful to hide from so I say we just come out guns-a-blazing so to speak.”
“Gunsa what?”
“Sorry, human term.” He cleared his throat and continued. “The queen’s expecting me to deliver you to her, so I say that’s what I do.”
Adora’s heart dropped. She stared at him as hurt filled her chest, causing magic to brim on the surface of her skin.
“Adora,” he said, his voice calm and soothing, “I’m not going to turn you in.”
He took a careful step toward her and held his hands out.
“I mean we go in with a plan. If we can wipe out Maleficent, we’ll be free to leave without being tracked.”
She eyed him suspiciously, releasing her magic to return to a calmer stance. “And how do you propose we take out the most powerful witch in existence?”
“We need someone you can trust. Someone who will be unrecognisable to the
