by S. Massery
To my beta reader, Dave: thank you for your thorough critique, guidance, and support. You gave me a boost of confidence in this story when I needed it the most.
To my parents, who never stop supporting me: thank you for letting me choose this path, and for giving me a life that inspires creativity. Thank you for not asking about my story as I was writing it (or, rather, for not getting upset when I refused to tell you), and for accepting that only one person could read it before it was done. I love you guys.
To Akyanna, who promised an honest review: thank you for giving me your truth, and for reaffirming to me, “You are a writer.” I really needed to hear those words.
And last but not least, thank you to my editor, Josiah Davis (JD Book Services), for polishing my manuscript and restraining my (probably toxic) love of commas.
