Breaking Secrets: Book 4 in the Breaking Boundaries Series Page 4

by M. A. Lee

Turning up the volume on the overhead speakers, I looked Melanie up and down before speaking. “No, miss goodie two shoes don’t want to upset her mommy and daddy. She will not be getting a tattoo today.” My tone had come out sharp, but I didn’t care. These beauty queens were getting on my nerves.

“Listen,” Melanie began, standing and ready to defend herself to me, but Lauren grabbed her arm and stopped her from making a terrible choice.

So, Melanie had a little spunk in her too. I was shocked.

Lauren turned and in a motherly tone, began chastising her friend. “Melanie Lee Averman, shut up and just follow me. If you say anything back to that girl, she will kick your ass.”

I smiled and nodded my head, confirming that what Lauren said was true.

Both girls looked nervous, but they quickly turned their attention back to Smalls.

Lauren began to drag Melanie with her to Small’s work station in the back.

Smalls flirted and smiled at both girls all the way back and my stomach dropped as his words floated through my mind.

I tried to focus on the loud music or the constant chatter of people in the waiting room, but nothing would take my mind off the idea that Smalls was about to have his hands on Lauren, a beautiful girl.

I knew I wasn’t anything like Lauren. I am not beautiful or charming or sweet.

I returned back to my sketches and as I angrily drew I heard a loud scream and a thud.

My head shot up as did everyone else’s in the room. Even over the loud music blaring from the speakers, we heard the terrifying scream.

Suddenly, I spotted Isaac carrying the friend, Melanie in his arms. Her eyes were closed and it was clear she had passed out.

Lauren was running behind them, her face stricken with fear as she watched her friend’s lifeless body in Isaac’s arms.

I had almost forgotten Isaac was here. He had been locked in the back in his office for hours working on payroll.

Even though he technically work here, he still had an office and he did boss duties. He was complicated. I guess it runs in the family.

“What happened?” I asked as Smalls rounded the corner too.

“She just passed out,” Lauren spoke frantically. “As soon as Smalls touched the ink gun to my skin she just fell to the ground. I think she hit her head,” Lauren cried out.

I rushed around the counter and grabbed some ice from our refrigerator down the hall. I may not like these girls and the way Smalls looked at them, but I am not evil either. I knew I needed to help.

I placed the ice cubes in a bag and handed them to Isaac as he lay Melanie on the leather couch in the waiting room. Everyone stood by, anxiously waiting to see what was going to happen.

Isaac ran a hand through his wavy blonde hair and I couldn’t help but notice his eyes glance over to Lauren. I had never seen Isaac look at a girl the way he was looking at Lauren.

Smalls began to relay the information to Cole who was now bent over checking Melanie’s head.

He softly ran his hand over her forehead and I heard him gasp as he took in her features. I swear, I saw him smile a little as he looked at her. Damn, these girls had just captured the hearts of Isaac and Cole. I was shocked.

Seeing me watching Isaac and Cole with the girls, Smalls walked over and stood next to me.

“I think she will be ok. She just got freaked out when I started the tattoo,” he assured.

  “Ok, good,” I replied.

Rolling my eyes, I laughed to myself as Isaac lingered in the doorway a moment longer before walking over to me. I may wear my hair in a crazy style with an array of colors, but there is no denying Isaac and I are related. We both have the same hazelnut eyes and perky, thin nose. Only I am way cuter than he is. Isaac watched me carefully as I gave him a silly grin. He knew I saw the way he was looking at Lauren and he wanted me to keep my mouth shut. Good luck, brother.

“Good job, little brother,” I mocked, as I unwrapped a lollipop and began sucking. Ever since I had started working here, I began keeping a stash of candy. It helped pass the time when I was bored and I found it was great to give to clients who were freaking out about the idea of a tattoo. “You saved the princess.” I teased as I nudged his side.

“Shut up, Kat,” Isaac growled in my direction, “Her friend hit her head. I am worried,” he stated.

Even though he was two years older than me, I loved to tease him and call him my little brother. It irritated him, but anyone who knew us knew he was the definition of the perfect big brother.

I decided to stop being a pain in his ass and help out. I ran to the back break-room and grabbed a cold bottle of water and a few Tylenol.

I returned and handed them to Melanie who was now sitting up and looking terrified.

“Thanks,” she mumbled as she took a sip of the cold liquid and leaned back, holding one hand to her head.

“Here, take these,” I said, as I handed her the Tylenol.

I walked back to the front desk where Isaac was still perched and looking anxious.

“Man, Isaac, and Cole seem captivated by Lauren and Melanie. I guess I can’t blame them, they are beautiful,” I admired.

Raising his eyes, Smalls leaned in close to me. “Did I just hear you compliment someone?” he asked.

“Don’t push it. I am just stating a fact,” I grunted back.

“Well, I agree, Isaac and Cole haven’t taken their eyes off these girls. But, you are wrong about one thing. They might be pretty, but nothing is more beautiful than you,” he said.

Before I could open my mouth to say anything, Smalls moved away from me and over to Isaac where they began to chat.

It only took a few more minutes for Melanie to wake up, but in that time, Smalls had rendered me speechless and I swear I watched my brother and Cole fall in love with two girls they had just met.

  SMALLS

Watching Melanie drop to the floor scared the shit out of me.

When I heard Kat call my name, I was hoping she had wanted something from me. Instead, I found two girls waiting for me to ink their skin. Well, Lauren wanted ink.

Kat had been so focused on glaring daggers at Lauren and Melanie that she hadn’t noticed Cole’s mouth drop at the sight of Melanie or see Isaac leave his office to only stare at Lauren like she was the only girl in the world.

Sure, both girls were beautiful. I am a man, I can’t deny beauty when I see it. But, they don’t do anything for me.

No, I like a cute, short little sassy woman with a hot temper and even hotter body. It was almost cute watching Kat get jealous as these girls smiled at me.

And shit, I couldn’t help myself but play along. She was the one who wanted to keep what we had done a secret. In a way, I understood too, but maybe having a secret relationship could be hot too.

Anyway, I chuckled the whole way back to my room as Lauren and Melanie talked about Lauren’s upcoming tattoo. Neither girl had noticed Isaac and Cole stalking them either.

Everyone was so wrapped up in their own worlds, they couldn’t see what was happening around them. That is, until Melanie’s face paled and she dropped onto the hard, cement floor of the shop.

In my years of working as a tattoo artist, I had never seen anyone pass out before. It scared me, but I didn’t have time to think about that. Isaac rushed into the room and became the hero to impress Lauren while Cole went straight to warrior duty as he made sure Melanie was ok.

And Kat, well she surprised me more than anyone else. I saw a softer side of her appearance as she rushed to make sure Melanie was alright. The same girl she had just been glaring at only minutes before.

This is what I liked about Kat. On the surface, she was hard and mean. But, on the inside, she had this other softer side to her. I wanted to explore every inch of her and learn what made Kat so irresistible. And, if I got my way, which I always did, I would find the answers I wanted.

Thankfully, Isaac closes the shop on Sundays.

  With a homework assignmen
t due on Monday in my art class, I need this day to relax and get caught up on my school work. My job at the shop isn’t too demanding and I always have time to get my school work done, but still, I enjoy my lazy Sundays.

This week, my homework assignment is to draw something that others may not find beauty in. An object that others might not deem worthy of respect or attention. I had decided to draw an old rose bush in the back yard. Isaac never took care of it and I have tried watering it and cleaning out the flower bed. Guys don’t care for flowers and flower beds the way most women do.

Anyway, I noticed the other day that the roses were starting to come back to life. A hint of red was starting to show through the dull leaves and stems of the run-down garden. I sat on the back patio, beginning to sketch my design as I heard the back door open and footsteps begin to come up behind me. Thinking it was Cole again, I didn’t bother to look behind me.

Isaac was too loud, I would have known it was him.

“Wow, that is incredible,” Smalls said as he leaned in to look more closely at my drawing. “I noticed you out here and thought I would give you some peace.”

His voice caught me off guard and I almost jumped.

“How long have you been standing there?” I asked, as Smalls sat down next to me on the bench.

“I’ve been there for a while. I was coming over to hang with Isaac, but he’s sleeping. You looked so peaceful and intent on what you were doing that I didn’t want to bother you.”

  “Oh, thanks,” I added.

“You are really talented,” Smalls said, with a sweet smile.

“You don’t have to say that,” I said, trying to hide my picture now.

“Don’t do that,” Smalls began. “You have a gift. I think that drawing is beautiful.”

  “Really?” I asked, surprised.

“Yes, I would love to see what other things you have created,” Smalls said.

“Sure, maybe one day I can show you my sketchbook.”

“I would like that,” Smalls said. “You know, you should really think about designing some tattoos for our books. Customers would dig some of your designs.”

I almost laughed. “You haven’t even seen my sketchbook. This is my first drawing you have seen. How do you know they would like my stuff?” I asked.

“Can’t you just take a compliment?” Smalls asked, with a glare.

“Sometimes, if I know it’s sincere,” I replied.

Laughing, Smalls chuckled. I loved that my sass amused him. Not.

“Well, I don’t bullshit. If I say it, I mean it,” he stated, firmly.

“Well, that’s good to know,” I replied.

“Besides, you leave your little drawings all over the shop. You like to draw when you are bored. I have kept a few of your designs, some of the customers have even asked about them,” Smalls added.

My eyes shot up at this. I knew Isaac had mentioned that I could draw designs for the customers, but I never thought it would happen. “Seriously?”

“Yes. I told you, art is your gift.”

I went back to my drawing even though Smalls was still next to me. I didn’t typically draw or paint with other people around, but for some reason, I didn’t mind Smalls watching me.

I felt his hand graze my thigh and I did nothing to stop him. Smalls had already been inside of me and had seen my body naked. There wasn’t anything he could do now to make me uncomfortable, but damn if he wasn’t trying his hardest to turn me on.

Something about this touch drove me crazy. He was like this forbidden fruit I was being tempted to taste.

“You seem distracted now, is something wrong?” Smalls asked in a seductive voice that led me to believe he knew exactly what was wrong.

“My brother is inside the house,” I warned.

  “He is sleeping,” Smalls replied.

“I told you, we can’t do this. I respect my brother and he would flip his shit if he knew I was messing around with one of his friends. My relationships don’t last. It would be bad for everyone,” I admitted.

“Why are you always so hard on yourself? First, you don’t know how Isaac would react. I get he is protective of you, but he also loves you too. Maybe he would be stoked to find out his best friend and sister were hooking up,” Smalls smiled.

“I don’t think my brother imaging us having sex would make him happy,” I replied.

“I’m not talking about just sex,” Smalls said.

His words implied he might want something more from me, but I didn’t get a chance to ask.

Suddenly, the back door opened and Isaac stood in the doorway. He was putting a shirt on over his messy hair.

“Hey,” he said, as he took in both me and Smalls.

He looked surprised, but there were always people here so he wasn’t too shocked to see his buddy out here with me.

  “What’s up?” Smalls asked.

“I was going out to eat with Cole. We have dates with those girls from the tattoo shop,” he said with a smile.

I almost thought he was adorable as he talked about Lauren, but this is my brother, remember.

  “Have fun,” I said.

“Thanks,” Isaac said as he shut the door and left me and Smalls alone again.

Maybe Isaac would have questioned how close Smalls and I were sitting if he weren’t so excited about his date.

Once we were alone again, Smalls scooted closer to me again. His legs were against mine and I could feel the heat radiating off of him.

“So, we are alone,” Smalls noted, as we heard Isaac’s truck start up.

“Yeah, so,” I said, as I tried to hide the excitement I was feeling.

It was wrong to want someone so badly like this, but my body was giving in to him.

“I want you, Kat. We had fun, let’s do it again,” Smalls breathed close to me.

He leaned in and before I could stop myself, I lunged forward and crashed my lips to his. Smalls jumped up and picked me up in his strong arms, carrying me inside the house.

Stumbling through my bedroom door, Smalls kicked the door shut behind us.

Throwing me onto the bed, Smalls lifted his shirt over his head and revealed a glorious set of tattooed abs. I remembered that body from just a few nights ago but it was like I was seeing it for the first time again. Stroking his soft and firm skin, I licked my lips at the sight of his body. Heat radiated from between my legs as I knew that we were about to explore one another.

“Do you have anything? A condom?” Smalls asked, as he trailed kisses down my stomach. He had pulled my shirt off with one quick movement that had shocked and thrilled me at the same time.

“Yes, in the drawer,” I said pointing to my bedside table.

Leaning over, Smalls opened the small drawer and I watched as his face lit up like a Christmas tree. “What is this?” he asked with an amused curiosity.

When I had told him where I kept my protection, I had also forgotten to mention that my whips, handcuffs, body gel, and ball gag, were also in that drawer. Smalls already knew that I liked sex rough, but he had no idea just how rough I liked it.

“Sorry, is that too much?” I asked, leaning up on my elbows. I bit my lip as I waited for his next response.

“Are you kidding me? This is fucking awesome! I didn’t know you were such a naughty little freak,” Smalls smiled as he grabbed a condom and began removing his pants and boxers.

“I wouldn’t call me a freak, but I like to have fun in the bedroom,” I winked as I followed his lead and removed my jeans and black thong. “You pulled my hair and smacked my ass, wasn’t that enough to let you know I like sex wild?” I asked.

“Sure, but damn, this is like an additional gift. Kat, you are every man’s dream,” he growled.

We both drank each other in once all clothes were removed. It was true, I had been called a ‘freak’ by many of past boyfriends for my need and drive to explore different sexual avenues in the bedroom. I had even been given the nickname by bullies and others who hated me
for my differences, but using that term with sex just lit a fire inside of me. I loved to be dominated and get a little rough with the right guy. While my drawer may make me look like a sexual freak, I wasn’t a slut. I only used those toys with boyfriends whom I had strong feelings for and had even loved. Smalls hadn’t reached the love category yet, but this boy sparked a fire deep inside of me that made me want to be close to him. Whatever we did tonight would be fine with me.

Tearing the foil wrapper, Smalls ran the condom over his long and gloriously thick penis. My eyes drifted to his cock and I couldn’t help but drool at the sight. Everything about this boy’s body was lean and chiseled and I couldn’t wait to find out what he could do with all of that muscle.

Spreading my legs apart, Smalls leaned over me and began rubbing my inner thigh as he moved closer and closer to my heat. He was teasing me and I moved my hips closer to his hands, trying hard not to beg him to thrust inside of me. It was torture the way his hands moved so slow just inches away from my opening. The other night was wild and rushed, but tonight was slow and patient.

I took his hand and placed it on my wet folds, showing him just how aroused and needy I was for his touch.

Small’s eyes grew wide as he looked down at me with a wild smile. “Damn baby, you are so wet,” he remarked.

Nodding my head, I smiled. “Yes, now get inside of me now,” I demanded as I pushed his fingers deep inside of me.

A loud moan escaped both our lips as Smalls finally made his way inside of me. Moving his fingers in and out, he gave me a quick prelude to what was about to come. Just as I felt my body rising to its climax, Smalls removed his fingers and thrust his rock hard dick inside of me.

I screamed out his name as he began rocking in and out of me, the movement causing fireworks to explode deep inside of me.

I lifted my head and met his and our lips locked as our bodies began to grind in tune with one another. We continued on and on until we both couldn’t hold back any longer.

“I’m about to come,” Smalls breathed hard as he squeezed his mouth shut.

  “Me too,” I moaned.

“Come with me,” Smalls demanded as he continued moving. “I’m almost there.”
